Teach A Lesson

Luci held Lennox's hand as he took her to his mother's room. He was sure that his mother was fine. She just did not want to justify her acts that was why she was behaving like that. But he would show her real colors to his naive brother.

He walked with confidence towards her room when he sneered as he saw so many maids standing around the room.

"I am here to meet my mother!" he announced when the maids looked at him with hesitation.

"Prince, why don't you come later? She is resting now." she asked in a soft voice but Luci was not to give up.

He had seen his mother enjoying tea in the garden in the morning yesterday when she had told his father that she was sick and this was not the first time she had done so.

In the past when everyone was worried about her health, she was enjoying the wine in her cellar.

"We will not disturb her! We will leave after seeing her from afar. As her sons, we are worried about her." he said it in such an earnest voice while blinking his adorable eyes that the heart of the maids melted.

They stared at each other and nodded their heads.

"Alright. I think her majesty would be happy to meet both of you too." at least, her lonesome look would improve! She thought as she opened the door and let them in.

Luci turned to see Len and then entered the room. His heart was sneering at all this act.

The room was silent. He looked around to see Katherine was sitting on her office chair while working on her files.

Her face looked a bit pale but that was it. Under the perfectly make up face after the fresh bath, he could not see the changes yet his eyes narrowed on her.

"Mother, are you okay? I heard that you are not feeling well." he ran towards her when she raised her head and looked petrified by his words.

"Who said that? I am perfectly fine and doing my work. I was just a bit tired after working late at night. You do not need to worry." her voice came suddenly and abruptly as if she was trying to force them to believe in her , making him confused.

Shouldn't she be nodding her head and accepting it when he was giving her leverage?

"If you are tired, why are you working? Shouldn't you be a resting mother?" he whined in a complaining voice as he held her hand and pulled it gently.

He would not let go of such a good chance to earn brownie points and show Len that she was fine at the same time.

"Mm, I will. Your majesty has sent a file of budget for the welcome of envoys. I am just giving it a look.

I think he has made some changes in the last plan I have made." Luci nodded as his father had told him last night that there might be a chance for the crown prince to come by himself.

He had tried to remember things from his past but he was too young to remember what had happened at that time.

"Then can I help you with anything?" he stopped after asking. Though he was well versed in all the filing work, he was just a kid for them.

His mother would think he was fooling around. But surprisingly she raised her head and passed the file to him.

"I want you to check for the discrepancies between this file and the file I have sent to your majesty.

Make a report and bring it to me in 2 hours." with a dismissive tone, she waved her hands when he blinked.

'Did she forget that he was just five years old!' she raised a brow when she felt his pleading and upset face.

"What! You don't want to?" Her voice was challenging. In spite of the desire to nod his head and tell her he did not want to and could not do it, he felt he would be in trouble if he refused.

"Why would not i? Of course, I would help my mother." with a sheepish look he nodded as he took her files in his hands.

He had thought that he would not need to work hard in this life. But now, these files were never going to leave him alone.

"Lennox, since Luci is busy with files and I do not have much to do. Shall we have tea together?

I heard that you have come to meet me before too?" the boy who was staring at his brother with confusion raised his head.

"Umm, i.. Shouldn't I be helping Luci with the work? After all, he is just five!" no matter how smart a toddler is, in the end, he is a toddler and he could not do tough calculations. Not to forget it also needs classification of data and proper analyzing as many things affect the changes in budget.

Just how would Luci be able to do that? He could not understand what she was thinking when she gave all that work to her!

But the more worry he showed, the more the smile on her face widened.

"You do not need to worry about it. Luci has magic. He will be able to do that in less than two hours. Right Luci!" The boy was so scared when he noticed his mother's eyes on him again, that he flinched and nodded his head.

"See, he is so sure. You do not need to worry about him so much. He is an intelligent boy." she waved her hands to ask Len to come closer while Luci continued to stare at the files as if they were his mortal enemy.

She held Len's hands and took him out of her office.

"My lord, the lady has asked me to help you with your task."
