"Then I shall be leaving." Chris blinked. He forgot that she was still standing there when the events of the past flashed in front of his eyes.

"Wait!" he asked abruptly when he saw her turning. "Are you okay?" he asked before he could think rationally when she blinked.

The shock in her eyes told him that he was a fool to ask such a question and he cursed in his heart but maintained the aloof expressions on his face when she nodded her head in understanding.

"You do not need to worry about it, your majesty. My conditions would never affect the image of yours or the second prince." she replied in a tone that was used by a servant towards his master that he flinched.

He wanted to tell her that he was worried about her, not about his image but when he contorted to look at her soulless eyes, the words died in his mouth and he nodded blankly.
