Party 7

It was ten o'clock when Mr Abo bid farewell to the guests and left the party.

"I called the driver to pick the little ones."Aunt Romen said to Paula.

"And you guys better behave during your stay okay." She added.

" Tell the rest I have left." aunt Romen said and left.

" Paula where is Mira?" Leila the white lady asked in a whisper.

"Hhhhmmm..." Paula hummed as she looked around.

"Ah there she is." she said pointing in a corner where Mira was sitted alone sipping a drink from a wine glass.

" Ah okay." Leila said and approached Mira.

After standing for a long time to welcome the guests Mira felt her legs starting to ache.

It has been a long time since she had put on high heels and standing in them for a long time was even worse.

She had talked to people here and there.

She had also made sure to drink non alcoholic drinks and had a few snacks.

She had then spotted a sit in the corner of the hall where not many guests were passing.

She was that kind of person who liked solitude at times especially when she felt something was missing and she needed alone time to think things out.

Natasha had found her and handed her a drink which she accepted after confirming that it was not alcoholic though of course she wasn't good at it because Natasha had mixed a little alcohol in it hoping to make Mira used to alcohol.

Mira was simply too tired to bother.

It was a party after all and she had even made a few new friends.

Isn't that what parties were all about.

In her entire life she hadn't attended many parties.

Not even the prom parties that were exciting to teenage high schoolers.

Back then when people were asking out each other to be each other's prom date.

Mira didn't think she had the liberty to even dream of such things.

It's not that aunt Romen wouldn't let her attend.

It's just that prom parties in country X needed one to spend alot and by then she wasn't even allowed to have a small job for her to save any money.

Ha! and talk about her parents it was just impossible to ask them for anything.

Besides she didn't grow up with them so it was even more difficult for her to depend on them in any kind of way.

If they couldn't give her anything of their own will and only cared for themselves.

Her father cared about his alcohol and her mom huh she sold a few clothes in the market and when she felt like she was suffering alittle she sought for comfort in alcohol.

For Mira she felt she was actually alone in this world and had to depend on herself.

She couldn't stress her sisters who were out there hustling for a living.

Even she felt she couldn't bother aunt Romen since she had brought her up.

The woman was stressed at times that when they would ask for some thing she would some times shout at them asking them if they thought she just picked money from trees or if they were not old enough to know the situation they were in.

Maybe it's because she had never had kids but aunt Romen would at times say hurtful things that remained imprinted in Mira's mind.

Though compared to aunt Anna she was far better because aunt Anna was the source of most of the misunderstandings that would happen in the Haven.

So...actually the parties Mira had attended in her lifetime were countable.

"There you are." Leila said when she reached where Mira was sitted.

Mira turned "Leila." she said with smile.
