So many votes

" Tell me first why did you call?"

" Aaahh can't I call my friend?" Melina said faking sadness.

"Okay."

"Mira!" she shouted.

"Why didn't you tell me you started writing another book?"

" I only saw it online and when I checked the account it was yours."

"Ahh didn't you get it?" Mira said.

" You tell me how do you manage to write so well? Melina asked.

" Isn't it a secret so that you guys can keep reading my books and I can earn from it?" Mira said.

"Huh!"

"But you are not updating it huh?"

" It's been a week since you updated." She said.

"Did you finish reading it?" Mira asked.

" No not yet." Melina answered.

" That's it."

" I decided to take a break." Mira said.

"Haa you are really getting so many votes." Melina said.

" You are among the top five."

" Let me vote you too so we can share the profits." She added.

" Hah if they can be shared." She added.

Mira had started writing for a certain Chinese company that also welcomed international writers.

Many people wrote novels, short stories, articles and many others.

If you got more views and ratings.

Your book would trend and if many people liked it and you acquired more votes you were given a contract and then paid.

Gifts were also given out.

Mira started writing online simply for money.

She had written so far two books that trended well.

On her second book she was given a contract.

She had started writing her third book just recently.

She knew that readers were voting for their favourite books but she hadn't checked her account in a long time.

After the call with Melina who had continuously pestered Mira about the handsome guy who had picked her phone in the morning.

Mira spent the rest of the day with Natasha and the boys.

She also made sure she hid when she saw any Asian man.

She didn't want to encounter the handsome guy again or else she wouldn't know what to say again.

Two days later Mira was lying on her bed at home enjoying a Korean drama when a notification popped up on her phone screen.

Seeing it was an email she opened it only to be shocked at what she was seeing.

The email was from the company she was writing for.

It said she had won a prize.

The prize was a month' s visit to China since she was an international writer.

" Ah??" she couldn't believe what she was seeing and for that reason she thought it was spam even though it was from her email.

"I can't believe I am being spammed." She said and laughed.

" And I almost fell for it."

"Who would offer you a trip to a foreign country with travel and hotel expenses covered?"

" Huh?"

She had decided to ignore her emails for the time being but a few days later she received a message from the airline offices of country X informing her of her travel schedule to China in a week's time and the message also said that the travel cost was covered by Writer Company of China.

"Eh??"

" What is this now?" Mira said and decided to call since the airlines' contact was also given in the message if she wanted to know more. After the call Mira was speechless.
