Chapter Five

Ariana was with sapphire tending the stallion when she heard a foot step she turn around smiling thinking it was eric but she was disappointed when she found Edwin smiling down at her as he moved towards her she kept backing away until she felt his hands roughly grab her around her waist "let me go!!" she said while struggling against him "am your lord you should do everything I asked you to do" he said with his voice filled with anger

He roughly grab her gown and tore it

"no!"

She screamed as she kick hard against him but he pull her by the hair he forcefully bought his lips against her ; she pressed her lips hard against each other as she manage to hit him before pushing him away from her as she gather her gown around her in other to cover her expose body from him, he smirk at her evilly

"how dare you a commoner strike me"

She was scared as she back away; he was walking towards her when sapphire pushed him away from her

"this damn devil" he cursed beneath his breath

Ariana used the opportunity to run but halt when she sight the blade he bought out, wanted to strike sapphire she realized she ran towards him and grab the dagger from him, he pushed her back to the ground and slap her hard on her cheek, she kept struggling against him when she heard a angry voice from behind them she knew who own the voice she sigh in relief as tears roll down her eyes

"what the hell are YOU trying ….." he broke off

He pull Edwin away from her and punched him ; she got scared when eric got up , she could see blood on edwin's lips eric turn to face her but look away immediately as he pull his shirt and cover her with it before pulling her into a hug

"am sorry anne" he said

"its alright am fine now" I said while crying

Edwin glare at us before leaving, eric took my hands and asked me to follow him and I did , I covered my face with my hair as he led me through the hall the servant kept staring at me as his grip tighten around my back

Beth was angry when she saw the state I was in but couldn't say anything ; she pull me close to her and hug me "I will take care of her you may leave us now" she said

Eric hesitate as he stare at me, he pull me back to his arms and hug me before kissing me on my lips , I could see the guilt in his eyes when he saw the red marks on my shoulder and face he clench his fist

Beth coughed out to get our attention "I will be back" he said

I couldn't look at beth for I was blushing at eric action in her presence "can you stop acting like a child and come here"

She took me to the tub while she order the maids to bring hot water bath

Ariana felt like home when the maid began to bath me they seemed to be pleased with my hair and skin

"why do a mere maid like you have a noble skin" I heard beth from the door way as the maid excused us

"I…i…was just born with it" I lied

She took the brush and comb my hair she kept stroking it with her hands as she oiled it

"you have a lovely hair anne"

"thanks my lady"

"Am sorry about Edwin, he is a nice guy but your beauty could drive any man crazy"

I blushed as she gave me a plain gown to wear and asked me to be staying right by her side

I hate it when we went to the castle again I kept covering my face with my scarf in other to avoid many people gaze

The head maid who obviously hate me told me to go to the ranch , I followed her instruction as I left with other two maids I was scared of the stallion while packing the dung when I felt something tug my leg I yelp in pain as I saw my feet bleeding but I bent down to check what it was I exclaimed in shock as the pain I was feeling disappeared

"st jude" I exclaimed as I picked up the necklace and held it up as my scarf left my face

I realized I have lost the necklace for the second time I rushed out heading towards the ranch, I found her again her hazel green eyes boring into the necklace with admiration as a smile grace upon her rosy red lips revealing her white teeth at the moment I kept staring at her but I caught my breath at the sight of her hair it was far darker and I could tell it is longer than mine although she packed it in bun

I flinch when I saw those hazel green eyes now looking at me "your necklace" she said

She look beautiful even in dirt , my eyes caught the pendant it has blood at its shape end and I thought it was edwin's blood but then I saw her feet bleeding

"you are hurt" I finally found my voice

"I thought you were a mute" she said

"am not"

"you lost it again didn't you?"

"and you found it again didn't you?"

She laughed as she gave me the necklace, she was about to leave when I grab her hands I could feel her soft skin against mine

"thank you" I said

"you are welcome"
