Entry 7: The Election

The noises faded as soon as the Fourth-Year student Alana took over.

"Okay, it seems like everyone is on board with your plans for your Representative Selection, but before that, let us finish our introductions with the fellows at the back. They are the only ones that have yet to talk."

Oh right, I forgot about that. We still need to introduce ourselves.

I signaled Frank to go first. He quickly stood up and went to the front.

"Hi everyone! My name is Frank and I am from Mountcastle. I live together with my father since my mother died when I was a child. My father is a retired soldier and I want to follow the footsteps of my father and become the best soldier that I can be."

Someone from the crowd asked him.

"Does that mean that you are aiming on being a Knight?"

Frank smiled before he replied.

"Isn't that a given if you are planning to become a soldier? How could enter this Academy if you do not have any ambitions?"

Everyone in the room cheered.

"WOOHHHH!!!"

"That was pretty cool."

Even though it was used for his cover, what Frank just said is the truth about him. Even though he is an orphan, he did have a soldier father that died in battle. I have known him for a very long time and he loves his father even though he never met him. He has also his own dream which is to become a Knight. Since he is my person, I am going to do my best in order for him to achieve his dream.

Frank returned to his seat which means that it is finally my turn.

"Greetings. I am Alex of Mountcastle. I came from an average family. I am childhood friends with Frank. That is all."

I kept my introduction short hoping they would ignore me and we will head straight to the elections but that was not the case.

"Is that it?"

"Wait, are you sure that you are from an average family? You look way too stylish."

"Now that you mentioned that, he is very tall and pale, just like a noble."

"Are you sure that you are not a Pure Blood? You look like someone from a noble household."

Damn! Do my looks seem too noble-like? I think I might change my outfits from now on.

"I am not a noble. I grew up in a simple home at Mountcastle."

"Is that so? Then what are your ambitions?"

"None so far. I came to this academy hoping to gain one."

"Yeah, he is not a noble."

"I agree."

Wait, they are just going to stop right there?

"You are right, I noble would never be that quiet and gloomy!"

"I know right."

Even though it left me with a bad taste being labeled as gloomy, it did work out in my favor in the end.

I went back to my seat after the introduction. The Election then started with the first Candidate, Jasmine of Everett City, stating her case.

"Once again, my name is Jasmine and I am from Everett City. I know that you probably think that I sound a bit too boastful, and I sincerely apologize. I have been told about that for years, but I have been used to speaking in this manner. I hope that you can understand."

So she does know that she has a flaw, interesting.

"I believe that I am qualified to become the Batch Representative since I possess the necessary skillset needed for this job. I am confident when it comes to my intelligence, analysis, comprehension, speaking, communication, and others. Not too boast but I ranked Second out of us 90 students of this batch which makes me the highest-ranking student amongst all of us here. That is a shred of evidence to my ability. I hope that you will select me and I promise I won't disappoint."

As soon as her speech ended, Jasmine was rained with applauses across the entire room.

"Looks like I am voting for you!"

"You gave me a bad first impression but you made me a believer after you talked."

Frank told me his thoughts.

"It seems like Jasmine is gaining a lot of support."

"Based on what she said, it is justifiable."

She might have hiccups but she still delivered. The fact that she is the 2nd in the entire batch makes her even more appealing. She is just second to Charlotte. Someone like that can be the leader.

After that speech, Caelan is probably feeling the pressure. He needs to turn this atmosphere in his favor to win.

"My name is Caelan and I am from Nicholson. I know that I may not be as good as Jasmine when it comes to minds and mouth, but I am confident with my body. As you all know, we are the underdogs of the three Blocs, which is why we need someone that is strong enough to lead us. Someone that has the physical abilities and mental fortitude to become the leader of our group. We are the Bloodless Bloc. We know that those Posh Kids and their wonderful families are confident. We need someone that has the ability to compete with their level, not just intelligence, and strength, but also pride. Pride will be our main fighting weapon. I believe that I possess all of the tools. You might think I am just a guy all about brawns, but I am also quite smart. I ranked 19th out of the 90 students. Folks, I know that we just met today but I hope that you all follow your instincts and select me as your Batch Representative."

Once again, approaches reigned over the room right after Caelan finished.

"What a man!"

"I like you, dude!"

"Very confident!"

Caelan did something unexpected. Instead of speaking mainly about his abilities, he focused on a different subject which is our current status. He knows that he cannot beat Jasmine when it comes to skillset which is why turned his attention toward the enemies. Caelan is quite clever as well.

"I think most men will vote for him, sir. He mainly appealed to his confidence and pride."

"I agree."

Intelligence versus Pride. This battle is very amusing. Who would have thought that I would be able to see two wonderful prospects on the first day of school?

After hearing their cases, I already know who I would pick.

Senior Alana stepped in the front and started to talk.

"Okay, now that the two candidates have spoken, we will now be conducting our voting. Let's make this simple and quick. Raise your hands if you are in favor of Miss Jasmine to be your Batch Representative."
