Entry 10: The Feud

The tensions have now settled and the three of us are sitting inside the classroom. Although Frank still looks like he is on defense against Dustin who is minding his own business.

"Si-, I mean Alex, is he really a good person."

"Yes. We got along pretty well. Also don't mind the brother thingy. Dustin is a nice man. By the way, why aren't you with your roommate? Who is your roommate?"

His upset face became even worse.

"Don't get me even started with that bastard."

"Who is your roommate?"

"It is that bastard Caelan!"

"WHAT?!"

I shouted pretty loudly which shocked everyone in the room.

"Sorry. Sorry. My mistake."

After I apologized, I quickly turned toward Frank and whispered to him.

"Is he really your roommate? That is unfortunate luck. I cannot believe you are going to live a year with someone you are not on good terms with!"

While I was talking, the room quickly become silent. I turned around and I saw that a man in his forties with a large build who looked like our teacher is standing right in front of the class.

"Good Morning, Bloodless Freshmen. My name is Gilberto Ravi. I am your Homeroom Adviser as well as your Physique Instructor."

Everyone in the room applauds.

"Let me go straight to the point. I am a no-nonsense person. I won't be telling you any nonsensical stuff such as motivational quotes in order to help you. Instead, I will be actually teaching you as a way of support because that is my job, is that understood!"

"Yes sir!"

Woah! Looks like Teacher Gilberto is different. He is a straightforward person that does his job. I like him already.

"Now, aside from your basic class schedule, I will be telling you the major events you need to look forward to as Freshmen. This will be very important to all of you. First, you will be having your Freshmen Field Day which will be held this Friday. For those of you that might ask what is that, well it is basically when the three Freshmen Blocs compete in a series of types of physical competitions which means you need to work hard!"

A major competition this Friday is way sooner than I expected.

"Next will be the Freshmen Talent Showcase next Friday. You will be showing your special skills to a crowd of people from different kinds of institutions where all you need to do is an appeal in front of them in order for you to be scouted early in your dream jobs after school."

So basically, a circus with us students as the acts performing. Although it sounds cruel, it is an efficient way to guarantee your success.

"Finally, by the end of this month, we will be having our School Bloc Wars. Your Bloc Leaders should tell you more about that in your bloc meeting so I won't elaborate further. That ends our Homeroom class this morning. See you later in the afternoon for our Physique Class."

And then he left.

Wow, that was quick. He truly lived up to his motto. A straightforward man indeed.

"Isn't the Homeroom teacher interesting, brother? I mean, who talks that fast and then leaves immediately?"

"He is, but just like he said, he does his job and he was not lying."

Now that homeroom is over, it is the self-study period. The Class representative, Jasmine, used this time to speak.

"Earlier today, Teacher Gilberto gave me the list of events that will be part of the Freshmen Field Day this Friday. He told me that we should select our representative for each event so that we can train as early as possible. After all, this is a Bloc Competition."

"Right, I do not want to lose to the other Blocs!"

"I hate them with passion!"

This kind of behavior always surprises me as well as makes me sad. Is the bad blood between the classes really that bad? I know that I am different from all of them but I never expected it to be this bad. I see this as a negative subject that I need to address in the future. I need to learn more.

"I won't be wasting any of my time which is why I will be heading to the main event. Who wants to be our representative in the Three-Way Combat?"

"Three-Way combat? What is that?"

"It is just like how it sounds. Three students will be fighting in a sparring match. There are quite a few rules and a referee. That is the gist of it. Who wants to volunteer?"

So it is basically a mud fight between three people. I can see why that is the highlight. Although I am confident with my Fighting Ability, I would like to avoid fighting at all costs.

Everyone looks intimidated once Jasmine described the competition. The room was quiet, although I expect someone to volunteer. Just as expected, he did.

"I shall do it. No one else in this room is at my level."

"Caelan!"

"I know we can count on you, Caelan!"

"Yes, Caelan. You are perfect!"

While the cheers were flowing, Caelan slowly walked in our direction. I expected him to approach me but instead, he headed for Frank.

"What do you say? Do you want to go? Unless of course, you are scared of me? HAHAHAHAHAH!!!"

I looked at Frank and I was shocked. He is trying his best in order to prevent himself from responding.

"I thought you hated me? You said last night you would fight me, right? Isn't this the perfect opportunity?"

What the hell happened to them last night?!

Anyways, I need to act now or else Frank will suffer.

I held his hands, looked him in the eye, and whispered.

"You can go…"

*BOOOOOOOM!!!!*

A huge booming noise echoed throughout the room. It was none other than Frank's Sucker Punch towards Caelan Head.

Caelan was able to dodge it slightly, but it grazed his cheek.

Everyone in the room was surprised. Everyone but me.

"Alright sucker, let's fight. Since wanted it, I will give you your nightmares."

"Bastard…"
