Contract Marriage?

"I know what you're about to say," George was the first to speak, he had his palms up defensively. His eyes were shut.

"Thank you," Cynthia's sincerity overflowed.

'Okay, so I had no idea what she was about to say,' He imagined Cynthia's wrath, not her gratitude. But after contemplating her overall attitude for a long moment, it wasn't a good thing in particular. "... What are you thanking me for here... exactly," he asked carefully.

George was suddenly apprehensive, he felt uneasy and couldn't shake the feeling off.

"When I saw you today after so long, I have to admit that I thought you were in the wrong line of work," she laughed awkwardly. Cynthia meant to praise his good looks and physique, but George was too nervous and couldn't keep up with her logic. She felt that she wasn't making sense, so she looked at him apologetically.

"...But seriously, you're such a brilliant guy and an amazing lawyer, it's almost unfair, I'm so glad you're on my side... Remind me never upset you!" She winked at him playfully then her eyes scanned his sculptured body without her control, she laughed awkwardly again after that.

Cynthia laughed alone because George was finally getting what she was going on about.

It wasn't even a rejection toward the feelings he carried for her for years now, it was disregarding those feelings completely. They remained unacknowledged by her. It was worse than rejection, she didn't take the man seriously!

She turned away a second before pain flashed through his blue eyes as his heart sank, she walked until she stood by the window, her eyes were following a still possessed looking Henry who stomped around her front yard until he reached his car, he all but broke the door of his Mustang GT Premium Coupe when he closed it.

Cynthia giggled with pure joy at that sight then she sighed, "A contract marriage, how could I not have thought about it before... You're a genius," she shook her head in disbelief, "all those sleepless nights I spent going over every single detail to crush him like the bug he is... I could've rented someone from an agency or som-..."

Long warm arms with a layer of thick muscle wrapped around her and over her chest, she felt George's heat seeping through her back though he didn't touch her from behind, then she felt his lips close to her ear.

"Agency material wouldn't suffice the heiress to Evans-soft, no one in our circles would believe it..." He whispered.

Cynthia scratched her ear uncomfortably as she made a full turn to face him. He straightened up.

"What's in it for you?" She asked, too concerned for him to mind their proximity, "I mean, how can I make this worth your time? It's your reputation we're talking about here, after all, you're the only son of the esteemed Robinson family," She felt a wave of heat creeping up on her all over again as she remembered something. "Weren't you featured on the list of the most eligible bachelors in Washington DC for 2022?!" She squeaked.

He held her hand and squeezed it. Then he opened his lips, finally deciding to Clear up the misunderstanding they were having, he wanted to tell her that his proposal — just like his feelings— was real. But the impatient pregnant lady beat him to it.

"Are you sure you're okay with me, like this?" she insisted. Gesturing to her pregnant belly meaningfully.

How could George make her see reason when her pretty green eyes still only saw 'that' scumbag.

George smiled at Cynthia, deciding to postpone his confession to her for a while longer, "I'm the one who improvised and suggested a significant change in the plan you hadn't shared with me, remember?"

She couldn't argue with that, what he did was risky and impulsive.

A glint in George's eyes sparkled, "Let's put it down in writing, is that alright with you?"

She paused, admiring what a diligent lawyer he was.

Unless...

"Did you figure out something you wanted from this contract marriage?" Cynthia thought that would be best if it was true, people always worked better when there was personal gain involved, and nothing was more motivating than getting what you wanted in exchange for your efforts.

He raised his eyebrow, "Do I look like someone who doesn't know what they want out of anything I let myself be involved in?"

No matter how she looked at George, he seemed like a confident fox to her. But looking at him at this exact moment made her see other things as well, the almost naked man was simply eye candy, no, an entire feast to her eyes actually. He stirred up her insides in ways that she didn't want to dive into but wanted to drown in at the same time.

She cleared her throat. "Okay, how about you put some clothes on first, hm? Then we can draft a contract together."

"Why? do I make you uncomfortable like this?" He teased.

"I know men don't see pregnant women as actual women but trust me, seeing you like this," she gestured at him from head to toe, "has probably never been harder on me than right now."

They looked at each other intensely.

'Yes!' George thought to himself.

As long as George affected her, even if it was with his body only at this moment, his hopes were high.

Something passed between their eyes, and she wasn't sure if it was only her, but her breathing became more labored. She placed her hand over her pregnant belly.

"Braxton hicks are such a pain..."

George grabbed her hand and pulled her slowly to the couch, she sat down and looked at him.

"No, lie down."

" George... This... "

He held both her feet slightly up and sat down placing them in his lap. He took off her sandals.

"AH!"

She gasped at first, but it quickly turned into a moan of pure pleasure.

"Mmmm"

"Yeah?"

"Oh, yes..."

Not only this man's body was to die for, but his talented hands as well.
