The Rabbit Hole

'How did I become this dependent on George, why did I listen to them...' Cynthia's thoughts were full of regret.

She was persuaded by George and Gloria to run away to Paris, leave her problems behind, and take a breath of fresh air while spending precious time with her newborn. But it wasn't what she wanted initially. At least if she had stayed in her mansion in the US, she would never have regretted that decision since she was the one to have made it.

"Excuse me, Ms. Evans?"

When Cynthia turned around, the stranger's perfume was the first thing she recognized. It had almost filled the cabin of the business class; her mouth was dry as her eyes went up until they found hazel ones that danced with mischief.
