Rely on Each Other

As soon as she close the door behind her, Alice came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.

Yang Ran too out the clothes and gave a set to Alice after checking the size. "Go and put this on."

Alice studied the pink T-shirt in her hand and crinkled her nose. There was a picture of a rabbit on the front of the shirt. "Rachel, the shirt is ugly. Look at it. The rabbit's eyes made it look like a crazy rabbit."

Yang Ran looked at the shirt and chuckled. She took out her outfit and showed it to Alice. Her shirt had the same picture as Alice's. Just that her shirt was in purple. "We have no choice. This is the best we could have. We can go shopping again tomorrow."

Alice pursed her lips and wore her clothes obediently.

"Stay here for a while. I'll go and take a shower."

"Un." Alice nodded. "Rachel, the hot shower is broken."

Yang Ran paused before walking into the bathroom with the toiletries in her hand. Even if she had to take a cold shower, she can't complain.

Her body was all sticky after running around.

Just that... Yang Ran did not expect the water to be very cold. The moment the water touched her skin, Yang Ran started to shiver

The image of her dead brothers and sisters reappeared in her mind. Ellie's scared voice rang in her head. Then, Bruce and Melvin were shot in front of her.

Now that she was alone in the shower, Yang Ran was finally able to react.

Tears streamed down her cheek and mixed with the water as she grieved for everyone who had died.

When she came out of the bathroom again, her eyes were red.

Alice noticed this, but the two decided not to say a word about it. She held the bag of chips and asked, "Would you like some?"

Yang Ran was about to decline when another thought came to her mind. She sat beside Alice on the bed and stretched her hand. "Sure."

The two of them ate the snack in silence.

It was Alice who spoke first. "Rachel, what do you think is happening? Those people... why do they want to kill everyone?"

"I don't know." Yang Ran lowered her gaze. She genuinely wanted to know why would these people wanted to harm them. Just what kind of enmity did they have towards their organization.

Did they make themselves some enemies?

"Alice, without your computer, do you still think that we can look at the footage again? We might be able to see something."

"Perhaps. I will have to try."

"Then, let's head over to the cyber cafe after this."

Alice nodded. The computers in the cyber cafe might not be good enough. But, it was all she can use. "And I just bought a lot of equipment earlier. But everything was left in the restaurant."

"We can buy a new one later," Yang Ran coaxed. "The most important thing is to live."

The girl pursed her lips. "Rachel, I've never been so scared."

Her life was not that good before she was brought back to the organization by Yang Ran's father. Even so, it was not that scary.

The image of her friends shot in front of her was still fresh in her mind. Her eyes began to sting and her nose turned sour.

Seeing the girl, Yang Ran could only pull Alice into her embrace to coax her. "Alright. Don't cry."

"Rachel, what are we supposed to do now?"

"I don't know."

Initially, Yang Ran planned to return to F Country to investigate what was going on. However, this plan quickly changed the moment Bruce and Melvin were shot to death.

Whoever was after them not only wanted to destroy their headquarters. That person also wanted to kill everyone linked to the organization.

"We shouldn't have made this trip," Alice whispered. "Perhaps, if I stayed in F Country, I can manage the security better. The moment they infiltrate our system, I would be able to see it. Then, maybe these things would not happen."

Yang Ran stayed silent as she listened to Alice's words. She patted the girl's head as the girl cried in her arms.

Perhaps, Alice was too tired after everything that they have gone through. After a while, she finally fell asleep.

Yang Ran tucked the girl into bed. Then, she lay beside Alice and stared at the ceiling for a long time. Her body was tired. However, Yang Ran found that she could not sleep a wink.

Her mind whirled as she tried to think of what they should do next.

It was probably best to keep low. The others were probably still trying to look for them.

Her head turned to look at Alice.

At this time, Alice was the only one she had left. Yang Ran did not want to lose her as well. Perhaps, after this, the two of them could only rely on each other.

A thought came to her mind. Yang Ran began to wonder if they should go somewhere far away from where there would be no one who recognized them. They could get a normal job and live life like normal people.

She thought back on everything that happened and thought that she had missed something important. However, she could not figure out what was it.

Ed's words before he died rang in her head.

The man had insisted that he had never betrayed their brothers and sisters. He had told her that he was set up

What if what he said was true? That he was really set up?

Then, what was their purpose to come to this country?

A frightening thought came to her mind, shocking her.

What if... someone was deliberately leading them to this country?

Her heart was beating rapidly.

Yang Ran forced herself to calm down and quickly pushed that thought away.

But still, she could not hide the hatred in her eyes.

She would definitely figure out who was the person behind these tragedies.
