Rachel Yang

Zhang Yu Han's assistant met with Qi Ming Wei in the lobby within five minutes. He took the man to the security room and let the security show him the surveillance videos.

After Yang Ran had escaped from the hospital, Qi Ming Wei already realized that the woman was not as innocent as she might have seen. She was good at avoiding surveillance cameras.

Qi Ming Wei stood in front of the screens trying to find that person.

Since he could not find out when she entered the hotel, Qi Ming Wei could only ask the security to backtrack.

His eyes narrowed as he watched his encounter with Yang Ran in the lobby. Then, he saw that she came out from one of the rooms.

Qi Ming Wei pointed at the room. "What's in that room?"

Assistant Xiao Ye frowned. "Commander, that us the safe deposit locker room."

"Do you have a surveillance in that room?"

Assistant Xiao Ye nodded before instructing the security to find that video.

The man tapped his fingers on the keyboard. Soon, Yang Ran appeared on that screen again. Qi Ming Wei pursed his lips as he watched as Yang Ran rummaged through luggage and left. "I need to go to this room."

"This way," Assistant Xiao Ye gestured to the door.

Qi Ming Wei turned to the security and spoke to the security team, "Continue to find out o did this woman enter the hotel." Once he finished his words, he then followed after the assistant.

Assistant Xiao Ye waved his hand at one of the front office staff before they entered the locker room.

As Qi Ming Wei rummaged through the same luggage that Yang Ran had touched earlier, Assistant Xiao Ye was inquiring the staff a few questions about the room.

The staff saw that they were interested in the luggage and quickly spoke, "Assistant Xiao, that luggage belonged to a customer in room 1085."

Usually, the hotel staff was not supposed to check on the customer's belonging. However, this was a special case and it involved the hotel's security.

Hearing those words, Qi Ming Wei looked up and turned to the female staff. "Continue. Tell me about that guest."

"Last week, there was a lady who stayed in the room," the staff spoke. "She booked to stay for a few days. But on the day the lady was supposed to check out, she did not show up or called to say if she wanted to extend her stay. We thought she went missing and had reported this to the police."

Qi Ming Wei frowned. "What was the name of this customer?"

"Hang on, I have to check."

With Assistant Xiao Ye's approval, the staff walked over to the reception desk and checked the details on the computer. Then, she looked at the men again. "The customer registered under the name Rachel Yang. She's from F Country."

"Rachel Yang?"

Qi Ming Wei thought about it for a while. If he was not mistaken, Yang Ran was from F Country as well.

Rachel Yang? Yang Ran?

Could it be that they were the same people?

He had thought that Yang Ran had entered this hotel and come into this room to steal something.

His gaze shifted towards the clothes in the luggage.

Qi Ming Wei pulled a few garments and wondered if they belonged to Yang Ran. After considering this matter for a while, he stood up to exchange a few words with Assistant Xiao Ye.

He returned to his room and took out his phone. "Ji Cheng, help me to investigate someone from F Country." He walked over to the ceiling-to-floor window and spoke. "Rachel Yang. I want to know everything about this person as soon as possible."

...

Meanwhile, Yang Ran was relieved when that commander was no longer chasing her. She quickly found a clothing shop and bought a few garments using the cash she had in hand.

She found a restroom around the park and get changed.

This time, she was dressed in a t-shirt, pants, and a pair of sneakers.

She put on a wig and some make-up as well. Just like that, she was transformed into someone else.

On the street, police patrol cars were seen around the city. Yang Ran stayed alert, but she did not try to avoid them as much as she did in the beginning.

Finding an internet cafe, Yang Ran decided to go in to find some information. She chose a hidden cubicle and ordered a bowl of instant noodles and some water.

Her fingers moved quickly on the keyboard.

The first thing she did was to check the news of what had happened in F Country.

She was hospitalized for a few days and had no access to the internet.

Her brow tightened when she found some news regarding their headquarters.

Seeing the headquarters that once stood tall was now burned to ashes made her heartache.

A lot of lives were lost during this incident.

Her grip on the mouse tightened. Yang Ran took a few deep breaths, trying to compose herself. Then, she decided to close the tab and started to work.

Although she was never as good as Alice, Yang Ran thought that her knowledge was still passable. As long as she did not try to do anything too ambitious, she should be safe.

Yang Ran quickly opened a site and halted.

She weighed her decision for a few seconds before finally deciding to send a message.

After everyone in the organization had died, she did not have many people that she could trust. Although she had some suspicion, she could not be sure until she investigate things properly.

However, in order to do that, she needed to return to F Country.

Leaving this city would be the first step.

Still, she would need some help to leave as she had no one she knew or trusted in this city.

A beeping sound snapped her out of her thought. Yang Ran saw that the message tab was blinking.

After a brief hesitation, Yang Ran clicked on the message.

"Rachel?" "Is that you?" "Where are you?"

Rachel stared at the messages for a while. Taking a deep breath, she decided that she had not much choice. Other than this old friend, there was no one else that she could trust.

"Eric. It's me."

The man send a few messages before Yang Ran could ask for his help. "Have you heard about what happened to your place? It was all over the news. Rachel, what is going on?"

"Eric, can I trust you?"
