Chapter-57: As the Snakes Coiled and Blood Dripped..[3]
{A/N: Feeling kinda poetic today, so I made the title of the chap like dat..}

3rd POV | The Underground Cavern below the Inn |
—Plap! Tak! Tak! Tak!
Footsteps echoed throughout the dark and rocky walls of the small cavern, with water dripping from stalactites hanging dangerously above the pathway..
Lucien lit the cavern with a small ball of light, floating in front of him, illuminating the way forward. Lucien always kept his hand on his bag that was slung over on his body, ready to bring out his catalysts in case of anything hostile appearing.
He also smelt the thick scent of iron and saw the dried blood splattered across the rocky walls of this cavern.
"Where is Ren?" Lucien muttered to himself as he walked slowly and cautiously while still wondering where his Group leader is.
Soon, he reached the first room that he came across in the cavern, creating some kind of eerie vibe like the horror movie, "As Above, So Below".
There was a feeling of underlying dread underneath his skin and his hairs stood on end.
'So this must be the feeling of something watching me' He concluded as he looked around.
When he went deeper in the cavern, he felt the biting cold surrounding his body as Lucien pulled his hood up to fend off the cold.
He came upon a small bench seemingly made out of rocks, with clothes lying on it, with blood stains clearly freshly splattered onto the clothes.
"This is new, but there's no signs of skeletons anywhere so I can assume that these are the clothes of a Demon?" Lucien said to himself as he touched the rough fabric with blood. To Lucien's assumption, this must be the Demon's den, because it's hidden underneath the village and there's blood everywhere, that's just common sense.
Lucien continued on but with one step, he felt his shoes touch something sticky and warm..
He looked down to find a trail of blood leading even further to the inner chambers of the tunnel. "I have seen this on so many horror movies, and I know it's a bad idea...but I really need to kill the Demon before it gets more victims"
Lucien knew it was a very bad decision, but his mind persevered on and he coninued to press forward, following the blood and came across human entails lying on the ground in front of a dark corridor that seems to be leading to a bigger room.
"Hoooo..." Lucien breathed in and out as he readied himself, standing in front to what seems like the main lair of the Demon.
"I can do this.." He grabbed a fistful of sulphur as he charged in after the light ball hovering over his head—
—But after he had reached the middle, there was nothing there but the remains of a human..
"Where is the Demon?" Lucien said to himself until his body suddenly moved on it's own and dodged to the side, performing a roll.
—Baaaam! Booom!
The cavern rattled and shook as the place where Lucien had been before, kicked up dust cloud.
Lucien's pupils dilated as he saw the black figure with what seems to be a snake's limbs standing in the middle of the dust cloud.
"Ah~Uh, I missed! Hehehaha!" The voice of the figure with a mocking tone, resonated throughout the big room.
"It's really nice that a prey came by itself!" The figure walked out of the dust cloud as Lucien finally got a full view of the being.
It was the Demon that they have been hunting, it had ashen gray skin with skin clinging to it's bones, like a malnourished person, but it wasn't malnourished. The Demon had the lower body of a snake, with green reptilian scales covered in blood of it's most recent victim that also covered the Demon's arm that had long, sharp claws.
Dark spikes protruded out of it's spine, piercing though the thin skin the Demon had. Two longs fangs coming out of it's mouth and red slitted eyes befitting it's race as a Demon. Other than that, it had moderately humane features on it's face coupled with the hair swaying like a snake behind it.
"You're the Demon!" Lucien shouted as he broke out of his trance and looked at the Demon who hissed and flung it's tongue out like a real snake.
"And you're the little rabbit who delivered itself right out of my nest~! And also the new customer right?" The snake continued mocking Lucien as it revealed a shocking thing.
"How do you know that?!"
"Ehehe! Figure it out yourself! I have no intention of talking with prey!" The Demon lunged at Lucien as he pulled out an Ice stone.
"
—Fhewww! Crick! Crack!
A blue laser shot out of the magic circle that formed from the Ice stone, the Demon, with it's primordial instincts felt the danger that the blue laser represented and using it;s inhumane agility and mobility, twisted it's body and avoided the laser, but not unscathed.
A small part of the laser grazed the body of the snake Demon, the affected part that got grazed by the laser immediately formed ice upon the flesh of the snake Demon and quickly spread to it's torso.
"Graaaah! Hiiiisss!" The snake Demon hissed as it clawed the affected part of it's torso and ripped it out forcibly.
"You prey dare hurt the predator?! I'll fucking kill you!!" The snake Demon became enraged as it used it's Blood Demon Art...

The body of the snake Demon contorted and reformed to thousands of blood snakes that formed and fused into one giant Viper-like Demon by moving synchronously.
"You've angered me prey, I'll make your death as painful as possible! You bitch!" The voice of the snake Demon came out of the mouth of the giant blood Viper.
"Try it bastard!" Lucien provoked the Demon, a snake before striking is cunning and dangerous, but once it's enraged, it turns into nothing more of a beast.
"RAAAAAHHHHH!!" The snake Demon roared in anger as the cave shook once more, but with a greater magnitude...
