Standing above a red Torii gate, Rui overlooked the open field and the area where the Spider Demon family Mother had become fly ash..
The Spider demon family was his idea, and he was the one that created it but placed himself as the youngest of the "family" due to his strange obsession. However, one should not take pity on him, because the only demons that become one of the Twelve Kizuki are true evil.
For a demon to become a Twelve Kizuki member, they need to make a river of blood flow and eat humans in such great quantity that they'll be able to challenge a Twelve Kizuki member and defeat them for their rank.
That is precisely why Muzan always prefer maniacs and murderers and any of the sort to become demons as they have the potential to grow very strong by mercilessly consuming humans, meaning, they have the natural talent necessary for demons.
Rui is sadistic and twisted since he was a human, the family he also created is twisted with some members he deemed "weak" for holding on to their humanity, getting tortured and abused to conform to his own twisted idea of a family.
"What a weak and pathetic mother, incompetent." Rui talked down about Mother in a very conceited manner. "She always was weak, holding on to her pathetic humanity, she couldn't make it as a demon." He shook his head in disappointment.
"She was better than you though, she had the will to hold on to that very little humanity of hers." Ren quipped at Rui. "Unlike you, she didn't have the tendencies of killing small animals and dreamed of killing people too."
"Why should I care about those pesky insects?! I am a superior being!" Rui, confidently arrogant and conceited, with no care about any life because, in his mind, he was a superior being than them.
Like how an elephant doesn't care about the ants it is stepping on..
"Really?" Ren hates those who has the superior being mentality, the ones that think they are above all else.
—Whoosh!
Ren left an afterimage as he blitzed towards Rui. The grass rustled as the wind blew from Ren's speed. In only just a second, he reached Rui.
"Wha—!" Rui exclaimed in shock as he saw Ren appear in front of him suddenly.
"How would you feel if - you - became that insect?" The only thing he had heard was Ren's whisper as he felt an immeasurable force slamming him down.
—Booom!
Rui was grabbed in the face by Ren and slammed down to the ground, creating a large earth tremor that shook the mountain. Leaves fell from trees and the red Torii gate that Rui was standing on, got demolished by Ren.
On the caved ground lies Rui with a bleeding and disfigured body as Ren stood above him ominously. The light of the moon obscured Ren's face with a shadow like an abyss and the only thing that can be seen from his face was the two violet glowing orbs.
"You bastar—!" Rui didn't get to finish his sentence, Ren started pummeling him with lightning speed punches, his every hit containing the strength and weight of a 100 kilograms.
Even though Rui's bones were as tough as metal and alloy, he still couldn't resist Ren's punches and his body was breaking.
"Gaaaah!" Rui spat out buckets of blood. In his last bouts of strength left in his body, he lifted his fingers and created monofilament-like strings from his fingertips.
The strings that could be called wires, attached itself to the trees around them. With another twitch of Rui's finger, the strings came flying towards Ren fully stretched.
Ren grabbed his katana laid near him and swung the sword while spinning, cutting the string wires easily. Rui immediately got out of Ren's lock and jumped away, pain assaulting his body.
"I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!" Rui shouted to Ren, his body regenerating quickly and his bones cracking and being put into the proper places again.
He immediately summoned dozens upon dozens of his string wire, making sure to surround himself in every possible angle to protect himself from and attack. "Go!" With a flick of Rui's wrists, he sent the layers of string wires towards Ren like a wall.
Each of the string wire here were razor sharp, so it was like a wall with blades all over it being sent to Ren.
—Ching! Ching! Ching!
5 swings was all it took to cut all of the wires coming towards him. Even if Rui's strings were as durable as metal, Ren can easily cut through metal and most alloys easily.
"Keh! If that doesn't work, then I'll just send stronger ones!" Rui sneered and created more and more strings with increasing durability and sharpness by infusing his blood into them.
—Ching! Ching! Ching!
No matter how many he sent, Ren effortlessly cut through them.
With two gestures of Rui's arms and finger like he was a puppeteer, he revealed the attack that he had been brewing, a cube-shaped cage of strings surrounded Ren. At this point, Rui's strings were as hard as titanium wires..
"Heh.." Ren muttered under his breath as he watched the blood-red strings coming closer and closer to slice and dice him to cubes.
he knew that his Nichirin katana will be broken if he tried to cut them without enhancing it, so he rounded Verlangen in his arms and directed it inside his katana, making it something like a magic sword.
He raised his katana near his face and gripped the tsuka with both of his hands. Ren planted his left feet pointing in front of him and his left pointing sidewards. He breathed in deeply and readied a technique as he adjusted his wrist and arm..
Flames enveloped his Nichirin sword as he rushed towards the strings, confronting it head on without fear...
