FINALLY

CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

Damien watched as Adrianna's hair danced with the wind. Carrying the scent of his mate to him.

An intoxicating nougat sweet smell.

He watched as Adrianna's red eyes swirl with varying emotions. Like an upcoming storm about to be unleashed.

"Iubita mea." He whispered under his breath.

He saw Adrianna's eyes widen as if she received an electric shock. Then he saw how she was heaving up and down with the effort to breathe.

Damien's pupil's flared.

He felt how Adrianna catches her breath as his breath automatically synchronized with hers.

"Damien..." Adrianna's voice sounded breathy, raspy and strained. Like she is holding back tears. And barely holding it.

Seeing Damien is like seeing a savior. Like a timely life vest thrown her way when she is about to go under.

She is like a rubber band pulled too tight with tension and pressure. And she can feel herself snapping anytime soon.

Seeing Damien again, she is conflicted, confused and angry. But she felt relief.

She is tired. Very tired.

From her past life to this life, things doesn't make sense to her. Only Damien makes sense. The only person who never changed.

With Damien as her champion and protector, she can finally let go of her worries and lean on to someone she can truly trust. And it makes her cry.

Like a child, she wants to complain, to protest and pour out all her grievances on the unfair treatment she suffered from her past life.

"Damien..." Adrianna called out again with a much softer volume and lower pitch. A crying voice full of grievances.

Damien's gut tightened in response to his mate's distress.

Wooosh!

Adrianna rush into Damien with a bang and landed head first on his chest.

Damien's muscles tightened as both his hands automatically raised halfway in surprise. Then a corner of his mouth lifted as he wrapped her in his arms.

Adrianna looked up at Damien. Her red eyes cleared as it was flooded with tears.

Adrianna finally feels whole.

Damien feels like finally coming home.
