EFFECT OF MUTED BOND

CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

.

"I don't know what the music box will do to you. I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to spells. However, I know someone who is."

Damien glanced at Adrianna.

Her eyes were wide with horror. And her face has gone pale like a frightened deer caught in the headlights.

Adrianna tightened her legs around Damien's legs and pushed her face into his neck as she burst out crying in soft pitiful whimpers. Her body is racking with sobs as if she is in extreme pain and anguish.

Feeling Adrianna's distress, Damien automatically wrapped his arms around her and secured her head to his neck.

"Sshhh.. I'm here. I'm here, baby." Damien cooed while slightly rocking his body back and forth, bringing Adrianna along with him.

Hearing Damien's voice, Adrianna's sobs became more uncontrollable.

In her past life, she despised Damien the most! But no matter how much she shooed him away, he was like an annoying fly always there hovering around her. He was always around ---ready to catch her when she is about to tumble and fall.

She knows he is always lurking in the shadows hiding himself ---so as not to ruin her days and upset her.

She knows, in every alley, in every corner and even across the street, he is hiding in the dark just to have a glimpse of her. She would always feel nauseated seeing him.

And he knows it.

So he would always stay at the background, silently enduring her scoffing and scathing remarks.

Everytime she would chew his ass, and it always happens when she sees him, he would just look at her with his eyes full of pain and suffering. But he would just press his lips together in silence and accept all her hateful remarks. Saying nothing.

He just allowed her to hurt him!

Despite every humiliation she made him suffer, he would persist and continue to follow her like a dog. Kissing the very ground she walked upon.

He remained unwavering. He endured and suffered for her for twenty hellish years!

Adrianna pulled herself away from Damien's neck and cupped his face in both her hands. Her tears clouding her vision. She hiccupped as she stared straight into his beautiful blue eyes and thought ---how could she have been so cruel to him.

When she woke up from her death, she even thought she is doing Damien a great favor. As payment for his relentless and single minded pursuit of her, she would bestow him a chance to be with her. Like giving a scrap to a foolish dog who remained steadfast despite her constant abuse.

She is so arrogant and unforgivable! She is so hateful!

"Damien...Damien..." She repeatedly called his name in broken whispers.

She laid her forehead against his forehead. Her constant tears dripping down his cheeks, his nose ---trailing a path to his mouth to his chin. But he did not mind nor wipe it. He just let her tears dribble on his face. He is not even disgusted. Damien just continued to coo and pacify her. The hand stroking her hair was so gentle and light. As if she is a fragile china. A most treasured china that needs to be handled with care. A china he love and treasured the most.

Adrianna leaned her head and softly touched Damien's lips with hers. Tasting the saltiness of her own tears on his mouth.

She opened her mouth the same instant Damien opened his and they kissed with a raw passion. A wild kiss filled with comfort and understanding. Of undisguised hunger. Of unconcealed desire.

They bit each others lips, taking turns sucking each other's tongue then back to tugging each other's lips, sweeping each other's mouth, sipping each other's fluids.

They kissed fervently with a passion until Damien pulled back and looked at Adrianna's tear stained face.

"Please don't cry anymore. It makes my heart throb with pain." Damien begged.

With new tears swimming in her eyes, Adrianna nodded and gave Damien a quivering smile.

A smile of promise.

A promise to love and trust him forever.
