These women were the ones who had gone missing earlier, and they had been captured and locked in the dungeon by Mankao to satisfy his perverted desires.
Each of them had been confined to a small cell chained with iron, robbed of their freedom, and exposed to constant physical and psychological abuse.
As a result, they had transformed from plump, dynamic girls to crazed and broken-down people.
The servant's younger sister was among those women as well.
Although this incident did not cause much of a stir, as the women were all insane, unable to escape unaided, and was quickly apprehended by the guards Mankao had dispatched as soon as they left the dungeon, it was still a horrifying occurrence. During the night, all traces of the crimes were thoroughly eradicated, along with the servant.
However, the rumors began to spread beyond Wangcheng Feiling, reaching the border towns and proving to be false. Over the following two years, the families of the missing women succumbed to a series of "accidents," resulting in no one left to speak out against the situation.
The artificial nature of this coincidence was clear.
The public disdain that had simmered for years finally boiled over. Sapir spent three years working tirelessly to suppress the heinous actions of his eldest son, using high-handed means to maintain surface-level balance.
If it weren't for the powerful threats of the sand ghosts, this duo of father and son, who were no better than beasts, would have been defeated long ago. How had they managed to survive until now?
Kevin rode on the back of a giant eagle, eyes squinted at the pursuing black waves. "They are getting close."
The raptors of the Giant Beast Human Race were incredibly fast, but now that riders were clinging to their backs and feet, it became easier for the cavalry to hunt them down. Normally, the Raptors would have easily outrun them.
However, the cavalry were not to be underestimated, as they were skilled horseback riders. They were still able to smoothly fire their longbows while riding the galloping vultures and attacking the birds of prey in mid-air.
Dan and the others were going crazy as they pushed themselves to the limit in their efforts to escape.
In the chaos, the white-billed vulture at the rear was shot with three arrows through half of its wings. It, along with the two people on its back, fell to the ground. Despite being a large bird, it was unable to regain its balance and crashed into Dan.
The impact of the vulture's wings knocked something off of Oswald's waist.
"Not good!" Oswald frowned.
"What is it?" Kevin quickly looked down and saw an object glinting in the moonlight falling towards the ground.
"That's a glass bottle!" Oswald exclaimed.
Kevin was taken aback; they hadn't even thought to grab it.
After a moment, he squinted his eyes and saw the person leading the chase on the ground grab hold of the vulture's reins and reach for the falling bottle.
"The leader appears to be the Mankao you spoke of, and he caught it," Kevin said.
In the hands of Mankao, such a thing was too dangerous!
Dan and the others also sensed the danger and flew frantically toward the direction Kevin had pointed out.
Along the way, they encountered death countless times. Everyone was injured to some extent, ranging from being scratched several times by arrows to being hit directly by several of them, resembling hedgehogs.
Finally, Oswald pointed forward and declared, "We're almost there!"
Where he pointed, the Kela River flowed from east to west, with mighty currents and enormous waves. Behind the turbulent spray, there was a dense army that had just reined in their horses by the river, creating a wall of copper and iron. It was the Ugin Iron Cavalry under the direct control of Oswald as the emperor!
It seemed that the crushed letter sand had reached their knowledge in time. Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and directed Dan and the others across the long river to the Ugin Iron Cavalry.
Before Dan's bird's claws could touch the ground, they heard the guard legion behind Mankato stopping on the other side of the riverbank. As the horses neighed, Kevin saw the lunatic Mankao open the glass bottle in his hand.
"Stand back--" Oswald, who also caught sight of this scene, shouted, and all the Ugin cavalry took a step back.
To their surprise, Mankao did not throw the contents of the bottle at the Ugin cavalry, but instead turned and poured it over his guards.
