Chapter 28.2

After the dust was scattered, these things were no different from ordinary dead leaves piled up on the ordinary forest floor. They were brown-black because of the slight humidity.

The Wujin Iron Cavalry, who were in charge of cleaning up the battlefield, all encountered this situation: the corpses of the dryads would change when touched after a while, and become what Oswald and the others saw.

As a result, the ground here was soon covered with a thin layer of dead leaves, and the powder was submerged in the soil.

"I actually think this is what this place should be like." Nick couldn't help but say.

The crowd listened, neither laughing nor refuting, because they felt the same way.

"The ashes of this thing are really unique..." Dan thought about the half of the red fruit he had eaten just now, and maybe he had absorbed this kind of thing, and his face turned green.

The little lion pretended to be old-fashioned and patted him, saying earnestly, "It's been in your belly for a while, don't even think about it."

Dan dumbfounded: "..."

He thought that this kid had learned nothing else from that little white-faced commander, but he had first learned to chat, which was really great!

"What are these tree branches..." Oswald returned to the eaves, staring at the layer of dead leaves from a distance, and asked in a low voice.

Kevin shrugged, looking like he didn't quite know. However, after a short pause, he still opened his mouth and said, "You said... what might be the one who lives next to the cemetery?"

Oswald thought for a while and said, "Gravekeeper?"

Kevin didn't give a talk.

His beautiful black eyeballs were covered with a layer of organic glass under the light of the worm sac, moist and translucent. Because of the slightly drooping eyes, the thick eyelashes cast a curved shadow under the lower eyelids, giving his gaze an indescribably complex meaning.

Oswald gave him a strange look, and thought to himself, why does this look like he is about to die again? He thought that he had asked a question before, and this bastard seized the opportunity and blocked him. This time, I can't be fooled again, and I would be an idiot if I asked him again.

Unexpectedly, this time Kevin just looked at the dead leaves for a while, then turned his head and left, without any intention of continuing to talk.

Oswald astounded: "..."

The Golden Lion Kingdom must belong to His Excellency Fassbender, who dared to leave the emperor there alone.

In front of this cave-like settlement, there is a winding path. On both sides of the path, there are also tall trees and dense grass. The first half of the road is lit by insect lamps, but the second half is not.

Looking from a distance, the path seems to lead into a black abyss. It was as if there was a huge black animal mouth on the other side of the path, waiting for someone to walk in.

Standing at the end of a winding path, Kevin folded his arms and gazed into the darkness for a moment. He then picked up an insect lamp from the side of the road. Just as he was about to take a step, he heard footsteps rustling on dead leaves behind him.

"Are you heading ahead?" Oswald's deep voice moved closer.

Kevin turned his head and raised an eyebrow to look at him. "Yes," he answered, nodding. "Why? Would Your Majesty like to accompany me?"

Oswald's expression remained cold under the light of the bug lamp. His prominent browbones and deep eye sockets rendered him handsome and imposing. He turned his head and raised his hand as if he wanted to summon the Wujin Iron Cavalry and the giant orc to follow him.

"There's nothing to worry about," Kevin reassured him, pressing his hand down and shaking the bug lamp. "There are no problems ahead. I just want to catch any signs. Lighting is sufficient."

Oswald's eyes narrowed slightly, seeming almost transparent. "It seems like you'll put just about anything in your mouth."

His tone dripped with sarcasm. He reached out and picked up a bug lamp from the side of the road. Raising his chin, he added, "Very well, let's go."

Kevin laughed and strode forward.

The sac containing the bug lamp had been treated, and it looked quite aesthetically pleasing when held in the hand. It held up quite well when rhythmically pulled and released during walking.

Oswald hadn't bothered to look too closely at the item previously, but now he couldn't help but bring the lamp to his eyes and examine it in detail. "What is this made of?"

"Intestines," Kevin answered, choosing that word over 'sausage casing.'

Oswald: "…"

He was tempted to throw the filth in Kevin's face.

As soon as Kevin turned his head, he saw Oswald's face, which was an unusual shade of green, and asked with a smirk, "Young master, has he made another mess?"

I knew he was doing it on purpose!

Oswald resisted the urge to throw the lamp with worms inside, turned his head with a pout, looked down at Kevin, and said with a cold smile, "You're just trying to be superior. Have you ever seen a young master who is a head taller than you, Your Excellency Fassbender?"

While he didn't mind Kevin mocking him with a tone that favored the elders, being called small was too exact. The last word was bitten hard by him.

Kevin chuckled, "So what? Besides the giant orcs, everyone is practically a head shorter in front of you."

As they walked, Kevin spoke again and stopped after a while, shaking the worm lamp. He sighed, "We've arrived."
