Chapter 35.3

The emperor's expression grew even more grim. "The wave of undead disappeared after hitting the statue. Is the curse broken?"

"Generally speaking, this curse is the result of the resentment of the imprisoned undead. Now that they are no longer confined, the effect will gradually fade away," Kevin said reassuringly.

The king nodded. "I hope you are right."

Kevin hoped so too. He had a feeling that this was not the end of the matter.

Oswald was greatly affected by Kevin's seemingly omniscient state, and he was somewhat numb. He did not say much, but simply stared at Kevin for a long time.

"..." Kevin said helplessly. "I have noticed that you have taken to staring into other people's eyes recently. Believe me, this is not a comfortable way to stare."

Oswald did not change his behavior in response to Kevin's words, so Kevin simply continued to watch him. After a moment of contemplation, Oswald made a guess with some indescribable words.

"I... now I even suspect that you were present when Emperor Besseman came to the Tomb of God Phae."

Kevin tapped on the rim of his stone cup, taking a moment to respond. "How many things have you been pondering over? Why don't you just ask them all at once? Don't drip them out like beans one by one."

"So, your answer is?" Oswald persisted.

"Very well, I suppose I can count myself in," Kevin sighed.

Oswald startled: "..."

"What's that expression on your face?" Kevin was amused by Oswald's pained expression.

He did not approach him, but instead straightened up and folded his arms. "You asked me last time how many years I have lived. Can I count them now? Or should I change my name to great-great-great-grandfather?"

As soon as Kevin finished his sentence, Oswald's eyes fell on his arm and paused abruptly. He then pulled Kevin's wrist with his usual astonishing force, nearly causing him to stagger.

"What happened to your arm?!" Oswald's anger, which had been suppressed for a long time, suddenly surged to his head.

He demanded sharply, "Why do you have such a large wound all of a sudden?!"

Although the emperor's grip was strong, he only applied pressure to Kevin's wrist and deliberately avoided all areas that might touch the wound. His knuckles and tiger's mouth were white and bloodless, indicating the amount of strength and anger he had used.

The wound grew larger and larger right under his nose, dripping with blood and gore that trickled down Kevin's arm and covered Oswald's hands in an instant.

"Speak!" Oswald's expression was as if he was about to devour Kevin alive, which made Kevin feel guilty once more.

When Kevin was in Pach Manor many years ago, he felt that the character of the six-year-old young master was not awkward at all, but was probably caused by the abnormal growth environment.

The way he expressed his emotions was always ingenious. He often spoke of being bored, and when he wanted to attract people's attention, he especially liked to contradict others. Sometimes he was extremely paranoid and liked to go to extremes, but at his core, he was not bad.

Kevin was able to tell the child's thoughts at a glance, but unfortunately, he had a bad nature and was a complete jerk. Knowing this, he still did not follow the young master's intention and teased him to the point that Oswald wanted to fight.

Although Kevin was a jerk, he was also self-aware. He knew that if he continued to walk around with Oswald, the young master would not hate him, but he would also not like him very much.

Therefore, when Kevin proposed to go to the Tomb of God Phae alone, Oswald's reaction surprised him a great deal.

After all, Kevin could tell that although His Majesty the Emperor had a bad face all day long, when he stopped Kevin, it was truly out of kindness and concern. Kevin even felt that Oswald had the potential for "masochism" at that time.

However, this time it was different. Although Oswald had strongly opposed his proposal out of fear in the past, he had never been so angry.

This surprised Kevin so much that he showed it on his face.

Seeing Kevin's expression, Oswald's tightly clenched fingers loosened a little, and his sinking expression forced itself to ease up. He asked again, "What's going on with you? You're obviously not injured, but it suddenly festered like this."

Kevin replied, "It's because the physical condition is not stable in the Tomb of the Gods. After all, it is not a place suitable for living people to stay. It should be better after going out."

As he spoke, he pointed to the arm that Oswald was holding and said, "Did you see it? It's starting to heal."

As he said, the shocking wound that almost exposed the bones expanded to the extreme, and healed towards the middle at a speed visible to the naked eye. First the muscles and bones healed, then the flesh.

"Okay, there's nothing else to do here. What should you be busy with? Don't you want the holy water? Just leave it here?" Kevin waved his hands, looking alive and kicking.

However, his body seemed to be devoted to hitting him in the face. As soon as he finished speaking, the part of his neck near his shoulders began to fester again. The movement probably hurt a lot, which made him frown slightly.

Oswald: "..."

Kevin: "..."

To be candid, both the process of ulceration and expansion, as well as the process of healing are quite distressing and visually unappealing. Compared to the small wound on the wrist from last time, these injuries are considerably more daunting and alarming.

Kevin believed that such a situation was unsuitable for sharing with others.

As such, he "coughed", flexed his fingers, and lifted his eyebrows towards Oswald, stating, "Almost. Your grip has made my hands numb, and my neck is being strained even harder. Allow me to move around for a moment."

Oswald held onto his wrist and did not respond right away. He kept his brows furrowed and focused on the wound. It was unclear whether he had not heard or was contemplating something else.

After a while, he lifted his head and released his grip, nodding slowly and saying, "Very well."
