Chapter 62.2

Oswald stared at Kevin in astonishment. "What are you doing?" he asked. He pulled his wrist twice, but it was no use. The knot was too tight.

"I'm fixing this for you," Kevin said, walking out of the cabin without looking back. "You'll thank me later." He waved his hand aggressively. "In fact, you can thank me now."

Oswald was speechless.

Kevin walked outside the cabin and threw the small black stone in his hand. The stone etched a single stroke on the outer wall of the boat, leaving a charcoal-like mark. Kevin then scribbled a horizontal "8" next to it.

As soon as the lines were connected, the entire pattern flashed with a gentle white light. In a blink of an eye, it was gone.

Kevin threw away the small rocks, dusted off his hands, and stooped into the cabin.

Kevin did not sit neatly on the simple wooden seat. Instead, he grabbed the hatch with one hand and the rein tied to Oswald's wrist with the other.

He leaned lazily against the door and said to Oswald, "Small boats are more troublesome than big boats, and it takes longer to hold your breath. Come, listen to me, and take a deep breath."

Oswald subconsciously followed Kevin's instructions and took a deep breath of air.

In the next second, the entire wooden boat flipped over in an instant. The hull was now facing down and the bottom of the boat was facing up.

The boat spun like a top, and Oswald's body was slammed against the hard wooden planks of the cabin twice, nearly knocking him unconscious.

The seawater rushed in with a bang, and the impact slammed into Oswald's chest. Before he had time to open his eyes, the water had covered his entire body.

Oswald was speechless.

At last, Oswald understood why Kevin had tied him up in the cabin. If he had not been bound so tightly, he would have been thrown out of the cabin long ago.

Kevin, however, was not tied to anything.

Oswald fumbled around with his free hand until, after a moment of apprehension, he found the bastard's hand.

He could not be sure if it was an illusion, but he felt that Kevin seemed to be leaning firmly against the door, while he himself was being tossed about in embarrassment.

But how was this possible?

Oswald quickly dismissed this possibility. Under such circumstances, it was impossible to lean against the door frame so firmly without any support.

He laughed at himself inwardly, thinking that he must have been stunned by the cabin.

However, he soon did not have the spare brain to think about this matter.

The violent shaking and bumping made it almost impossible for him to hold his breath fully, and he was quickly consuming the breath he had taken in.

Just as Kevin had endlessly reminded him before, it took much longer than he had expected to hold his breath, and he could hardly imagine what kind of process it would be like.

He vaguely realized that the entire ship had sunk into the seawater. As for why it was so bumpy and difficult, he had no way of knowing.

The process of holding one's breath is not a pleasant one. In fact, it is quite painful. Every second seemed to last for a hundred years, and Oswald felt as if his lungs were being hollowed out.

Just as he felt that thousands of years had passed, he finally succumbed to the suffocation.

Kevin, who was leaning against the door frame, noticed that Oswald was struggling. His eyes were closed and his brows were furrowed, and he looked very pained.

It was clear that even for an ordinary person, it was difficult to hold one's breath for so long.

Kevin gave Oswald a worried look, but then shrugged and turned away.

When Oswald finally took a breath, his mind was still blank due to lack of oxygen. He did not know what was happening for a few moments.

As the numbness in his lungs began to wane, Oswald's mind slowly cleared. He realized that he had been saved from suffocation by a single breath. And he knew exactly who had saved him.

Kevin.

Oswald had never thought that he would experience such a feeling: one second he was suffocating almost to death, and the next second he was so satisfied that his soul seemed to float.

The person he had been thinking of had saved him!

Whoever misses an opportunity that comes their way is a fool, and Oswald was certainly not one.

Kevin breathed a sigh of relief and was about to step aside when he saw the half-dead emperor staring at him with his eyes open in the turbulent water. He had not expected the man to recover so quickly, and he was momentarily stunned.

In that moment, Oswald kissed him.

Kevin tilted his head slightly, and Oswald imitated the action. Oswald then gently embraced Kevin by wrapping his arms around his waist, bringing them closer together.

As Oswald delicately pressed the tip of his tongue against Kevin's lips, a rush of intense sensations surged through his body.

The previous medicinal elixir appeared to be effective once again, and its healing properties had already permeated his brain without any external influence. However, this time, immersing himself in cold water proved unsuccessful.

Despite being submerged in the sea, he still yearned to be even closer to the person in front of him. He desired to meld their bodies together, or tear him apart and absorb him.

Oswald exerted all his strength as he spun around in the churning seawater. He secured Kevin to a corner of the boat using a rope tied to his wrist, then kissed him fervently, pressing against him.

Nestling his midriff against Kevin, he positioned his knees between his legs, pushing him against the bulkhead.

His excitement was so overwhelming that he failed to notice the sound of the canoe slicing through the water, or even register the abrupt halt. All he could hear was his own labored breathing, occasionally intermingled with Kevin's, which only drove him further into madness.

Unable to resist, he moved his kisses down Kevin's chin, making his way to his neck. Just as he grazed Kevin's slender neck bone with the tip of his nose and prepared to bite down, he faintly sensed something emerging from his closed mouth.

In an instant.

Since he could perceive it with his eyes shut, it must be light.

But... they were confined within the cramped cabin, with Oswald's face buried in Kevin's neck. What could be illuminating the space?

Kevin turned his head slightly and opened his eyes, realizing that there was a faint, soft light illuminating the cabin. He quickly pushed Oswald away, creating some distance between them.
