Chapter 71.5

Kevin placed his hands over his eyes and moved his lips silently. A gentle white light flashed from his fingertips, and Oswald's eyes immediately recovered significantly. Kevin then stroked Oswald's wrist in the same way.

"Remember...ahem...what I said," Kevin said, pausing to cough. "Don't forget, and then...ahem...get out of here."

After speaking, Kevin tried to stand up, but Oswald caught him by the collar. The young emperor had probably never been so embarrassed in his life, nor had he been so powerless. He held Kevin's collar loosely, and he could have easily gotten away with a struggle.

However, Kevin paused because of his movement. He looked at Oswald's eyes, which were now clear and bright.

Oswald raised his head and lightly brushed his lips against Kevin's, then fell back heavily, exhausted.

Just as Kevin was about to speak, a light rope descended from above and wrapped itself around his body, lifting him up to the ground.

"His Highness the God of Light...why did you let a mortal blaspheme you like this?" Melo asked Kevin in a low, almost crazed voice as he pulled Kevin closer to him.

Kevin took two deep breaths to calm himself down, then sneered silently: "I am willing."

The words were spoken in a low voice, but they were filled with determination.

The blue veins on the back of Melo's hands protruded, making him look even more gaunt.

The vitality that he was drawing from the surrounding area was continuously being poured into his body, and he could feel that his body, which had been languishing for thousands of years, was gradually recovering.

It was precisely because he had too many godheads in his body that the foundation that he had accumulated over thousands of years could not bear the consumption of these godheads.

He had been suffering from a burning pain day and night, and he could only find a modicum of psychological comfort by staying in this icy world.

But now, the burning sensation that had been tormenting him day and night had finally eased a little.

However, the power of ordinary people is limited after all. After absorbing so many godheads, he could barely bear the power that remained in his body, and it was far from enough to fully bear it.

He needed the body of the God of Light, and he needed to draw strength from the body of the God of Light.

After all, the godhead of the God of Light was the strongest, even stronger than dozens of little gods put together. And a body that could withstand such a godhead was much stronger than ordinary people.

Just as he raised his hand to squeeze Kevin's wrist, intending to draw strength directly from him, there was a sudden sound of breaking ice.

Melo was stunned for a moment, and his eyes instantly followed the sound to the sky above the pothole where Oswald was.

Looking into the deep pit, the Emperor, covered in blood, turned his head and smiled mockingly at him. Suddenly, he unleashed a fire dragon.

The fire dragon sped towards an ice cave, which he had just blasted open. At the bottom of the cave, a dense mass of ivy branches and leaves gathered together, with thick and thin vines extending from it. These vines stretched to various places, with their roots located here.

This was the task Kevin had assigned him earlier. Following the vines wrapped around his body, he began his search for the root.

Melo's life had always been intertwined with the rose long vine. He had planted this vine here to draw strength from all directions. If it could be uprooted, then Melo's source of life would be completely severed.

"No!" Melo finally erupted as the fire dragon neared the mass of roots. He screamed hysterically, and from his hands, a burst of intense and dazzling light erupted.

It was the wrath of God, powerful enough to reduce any person or even the entire world to ashes.

However, he forgot that Kevin was still present.

Before the blinding white light could escape from Melo's hand, it was abruptly blocked by Kevin, who used his own heart as a shield.

In that fleeting moment, the white light pierced through Kevin's heart like a sharp arrow, exiting from his back. A bright red foam of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, yet he seemed impervious to pain. He pulled back slightly, only to press forward again.

As the rays of light momentarily retreated, they pierced his chest once more.

Meanwhile, the unstoppable fire dragon engulfed the root of the vine. The vines writhed for a moment before finally succumbing.

Without the supply of power, the burning pain surged throughout Melo's body once more. To his despair, he also felt the godhead within Kevin's body flowing into him.

The godhead of the God of Light and the God of War, the strongest and most difficult to control, poured into Melo's body. Overwhelmed with pain, Melo fell to his knees.

He couldn't help but cry out, but it did nothing to alleviate the agony caused by the clash of godheads.

With a crisp "click," the mask on his face cracked in two, and a tremendous white light began to seep out from his body in sharp beams, piercing his skin like arrows.

His final surge of divine power shook the entire Mirror Island, almost shattering the sky.

Oswald was dealt another devastating blow, causing his wounds to burst open, and blood spewed onto the ground. Ultimately, he became silent.

Kevin's body tumbled from the air and crashed heavily onto the ground, immobilized.

Boom—

As the pressure overwhelmed him, he finally gave way, bursting apart. Unable to withstand the force of the godhead's eruption, Melo's body collapsed.

White light suddenly erupted, enveloping Melo, before expanding to cover the entire Mirror Island, the surrounding sea, and the entire continent in an instant...

The night gradually faded, giving way to the return of light.
