(Was that a dream about my past life? The person who tapped me on the shoulder called me Dr. Zhao, and my name in my last life is Zhao Kong so it is very likely.) Stewart thought. (He also called me Dr so does that mean I was a doctor or scientist in my past life? Well all that isn't for now I'll think about it later.) Stewart changed his clothes, got his newspaper and went for breakfast (I only have about 2500 pounds in my account right now and beyonders are the most money burning people in this world. I can't sell sealed artifacts because I don't have the power to get many characteristics right now so I have to find a way to make money.) Stewart thought while sipping his coffee. (Private detective is a decent job, I could've been an inventor if I had most of my memories from my past life. I could open a second shop in Backlund but the equipment is pretty expensive. I can still live off my savings a bit longer so I'll think about it later.)
After finishing this thought he felt that he was being watched. Stewart tried and successfully triggered spirit vision and slowly looked around. Seeing that no one's color represents the intent to kill Stewart lowered his guard a bit. Stewart continued observing his surroundings until he finished his breakfast and left but he could still feel he was being watched. Stewart got on a carriage to try and shake off his pursuer which he successfully did. (I'm pretty good at Anti-Tracking. Actually it's most likely that they're just bad at tracking and I have a sneaking suspicion I know who it is.) Stewart first went to the bank to deposit most of his money only keeping 50 pounds and went home. Stewart Lived normally for the following days until.

2:00am
Stewart again entered a dream. A very long dream. A dream that came from the deepest parts of his memories. He again felt the pain of loss. The scrap of salvation he found in books. Fiction, Non-Fiction, knowledge of all he had read flooded his brain. Even though the dream told him much he knew that something was still missing. There was nothing about his occupation. Nothing about friends, nothing about family, in his dream he was only close to a single person throughout. Stewart sat up this time there was no confusion he was calm. He had just dreamed of again performing the luck enhancement ritual though the dream still provided no context of why he would do such a thing. He could feel what his former self felt it was disappointment, helplessness, and hope. Hoping for what is to come in a world of fiction. Stewart recovered most of his memories about the early part of the book as well and most importantly he found out the existence of high level knowledge and what it could do to someone under Sequence 2. (This dream answered a lot of questions but also brought a few bigger ones like how did I know that the luck enhancement ritual would work and there must be some problem with my job in my past life since my dream didn't give any information even related to it.)
(This could mean a few things: my old job could be a part of high level knowledge or my brain that was scrambled by spacetime is just too damaged to remember what I've experienced in my past life .) This thought only lasted for a moment as he got out of bed. Having a dream that felt like it lasted more than years really had an impact on Stewart which made him lose the ability to fall asleep again. Stewart turned on the gas lamp on his desk and wrote down most of his dream because he found out that the abilities of a savant can not recall the information in his dream. Even though the recall ability doesn't work, Stewart can still remember most of the information with enhanced memory. After Stewart finished writing down the contents of his dream he decided to read and see if the recall would work on it. He reread what he had just written.
It was a story about his past life only 29 years long. The story started at age 3 in front of an orphanage where he was alone. He spent the next 12 years of his life in the orphanage he was used as a slave since age 6 because whoever left him their didn't leave any money so he had to work for his food. The only thing that kept him going was the only worker who was nice to him, that person was the orphanage's old janitor who would sometimes bring him books which he liked very much. At age 15 the old janitor died and he escaped the orphanage that he hated. He was alone once again. He wanted to pursue higher knowledge which he did. He would work every moment he was not sleeping, eating, learning, reading or studying. This is the point where he read Lord of the Mysteries. The school he went to was not even decent but he was a genius. He got into a great university where he stayed until age 24 which means he got a PHD. This part of the story was very blurry since what he majored in when in university could give a big clue to what his occupation was. The part of the dream following university was even more blurry.
Stewart sighed as he put down the papers. (The only important information this dream gave me is the beginning of Lord of the Mysteries which isn't bad but other than that this dream only told me how horrible my past life was.) Stewart thought as he tried to use recall on the information. (Now I'm sure that this information cannot be recalled, huh wonder why.) At this point the sun had started to rise and the world outside had come to life, smoke started to rise into the heavily polluted sky, the newspapers that people had ordered were delivered to their doorsteps. Stewart stood up and stretched as he walked into the washroom to wash up but Stewart still couldn't stop thinking about his dream or more specifically his past life.
