CHAPTER 33

Lucia smiled, while Brian could only sigh heavily when he saw William's face, which was smiling fakely at him.

The man invited them to chat for a while, even though both Brian and Lucia desperately wanted to get out of that place.

"I didn't know you two were so close," he said.

"Yeah… you can think of it as a relationship between friends who share the same fate; bad luck," Lucia joked with her bitter smile.

"Ah… I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you guys are facing. It's a shame, but… it can't be helped. Maybe this is the best way for all of you."

"Thank you, Uncle William." Lucia looked at the watch in her hand, it was time for her and Brian to leave. "Looks like we have to leave soon, Uncle."

"Oh, I see." William got closer, then whispered something to Lucia. "Hopefully you're wise in choosing friends and foes. I'd really welcome you if you wanted to join me, but I won't hesitate to take action if you help Brian."
