Chapter 49

“I love you, sweetie,” but she just frowned at me.

I held her hand as I drive us back to her condo. It’s already Wednesday and tomorrow’s packed with meetings. Then on Friday, Jada’s leaving for Brazil.

“Why? Is there something wrong?” I asked.

“I’m just a little confused as to whether I’m your baby or your sweetie. Can you make up your mind?” she stated, creasing my forehead at me. “I feel like you have a baby and I’m your sweetie and you’re calling me both so you won’t get confused,” she smirked.

“Pfft, you’re talking nonsense. I call you that because I want to call you that,” I explained.

She didn’t respond and I start feeling nervous. We just made peace and I don’t want us to fight again over something trivial.

“Ja…” I called when we reached her condo, but she didn’t respond. She just remained quiet so I held her hand, “Sorry,” I uttered.

“Tsss…” then she withdrew her hand from me.
