Miran sat staring at her. Kim turned back to him. Had she been too harsh?
"Hey, I'm sorry." She took steps close to him. She looked into his eyes, trying to read his thoughts. She didn't want Miran to be mad at her.
"It's fine." Miran brushed her aside, "I understand. I shouldn't have. I just didn't think about how you felt."
"It's just going to be a quick trip," Kim tried to reassure him.
"Don't you want me to come with you?" Miran asked. It sounded like a plea. He looked vulnerable at that moment.
"With me?" She pressed her lips into a thin line. Of course, she would love that but the chances of meeting her father were slim, and she wouldn't want that.
"You invited Aisha. Why can't I come?" Kim laughed. Miran was acting like a big baby and he didn't know that.
"Sure, you can," she kissed him. "But, I have to warn you, you'll be all on your own." She gave him another kiss.
