71 To Be That Third

Exactly right. Justyna may have been the ideal, but she wasn't Rafał. If he had to compare them both...

“She is...” no, Damian couldn't put it into words at that moment. He could not, having Brylski with him. He shook his head helplessly. “You are like a lightning that pierced my mind and body. This electric shock...”

Rafał stretched out his hand to him, but he did not touch Radosz. He lacked boldness.

“I know we can't be a couple,” he announced, and there was resignation in his voice. “I never expected that. I am grateful for what I have received from you so far. Without it... I would never have had the pleasure of sex.”

Damian's heart squeezed with pain. Don't let Rafał talk like that! Don't let him see himself in such darkness and Radosz in such light, because that is not true!

But are you sure?

“Never say never.”

Rafał laughed upon hearing this expletive. He changed his position again. In doing so he squirmed uncomfortably, probably feeling an unpleasantness in his lower body. This time he twisted onto his back and put his hands under his head. He stared at the ceiling.

“You're right” he answered quite cheerfully, dreamily. “Who knows, maybe somewhere there are thousands of people waiting to set my body on fire.”

So let them wait forever, Damian wanted to exclaim, but he came to his senses. After all, both Rafał and himself knew that they could not be together.

“Why did you come to my room anyway?” Brylski was curious. “I don't think it was for sex.”

“No, not for sex. Actually, I was worried if Różycki was bothering you too much in my absence...”

“No. Everything was fine. But you shouldn't worry about stuff like that.”

“What do you mean, you shouldn't? I promised...”

Rafał shook his head.

“You don't have to take care of me. I know you have good intentions, but you should focus on your girlfriend...”

Why did Rafał's calm, quiet words hurt like a crack of the whip?

“These are two different things. How Różycki relates to you is a professional matter, and me and Justyna...”

“Justyna? Nice name. From justice, right?”

“Yeah. I think so.”

Damian got the impression that Rafał was moving away from him with every word he said, as if wanting to gain distance. Well, yes, them together, that was a notion that had no validity. So what did Damian want? What did he expect from the situation of lying in a strange man's bed? He should get up and leave, but he didn't know what to say in such a situation. After all, he was not experienced in romancing men.

“It's late” he announced getting up. “The balcony of my room is closed, so I have to go out through the door, and it's better that nobody notices me doing it at dawn...”

“Yes, Anita can come early in the morning.”

“It would be bad if she saw me...” Damian was already putting on his pants.

Unexpectedly Radosz felt Rafał's warm hand on his back.

“If you feel again that something is missing between Justyna and you, you can always find me.”

No! Rafał is too good to be reduced to a lover with whom you betray your fiancée or maybe even your wife. Rafał doesn't deserve that. He should have someone sincere and be in a sincere relationship!

“Al.... Alrigt” he agreed. But he no longer had the courage to look into the eyes of the man, who at that moment was nothing more than a lover with whom Radosz was cheating on his fiancée. He got up and quickly headed for the door.

He was about to turn back and throw himself at Rafał with kisses, but he thought about Justyna and... left.

***

The sun was burning again that day. Rafał thought it was the perfect weather to hear the sound of cicadas, but in this climate cicadas did not live, Only grasshoppers and crickets, but they were not found in the cities only in the country fields...

Today Radosz appeared on the set surprising his workers the way winter surprises road workers every year. Brylski smiled at the sight of him, but showed no special interest in him. Not only because they were on the set. Rafał simply no longer had any hopes for Damian.

Justyna's name brought him back to reality. Justyna, the partner with whom Radosz was currently involved. Perhaps they had very serious plans for each other. Rafał was not the kind of man who would break up a relationship for his own pleasure.

But he couldn't simply give up that little bit of happiness he had experienced thanks to Damian. The happiness of finally experiencing physical love. Therefore, if Radosz needed him that way... well, that's what sex friends are for, after all.

Różycki, as ever, seemed to be pleased with Brylski's performance and even praised him in a few words. Rafał smiled gratefully at him, hoping that it wasn't Damian's presence but his own efforts on the set that had caused a change in the director's attitude. His patience and hard work had to bear fruit eventually.

Różycki noticed his smile. He did not answer him with a similar one, he only looked at him intensely, as if in his mind thoughts were trying to find a new order for themselves.

Rafał felt a pat on his shoulder and looked around surprised. It was Tobiasz Mońka, a special effects specialist and stuntman, friendly patting him on the shoulder. The man was a few years older than him and very handsome, very masculine, so much so that he pity him for working as an understudy.

“Are you ready for the next scene?” Mońka asked.

“Of course” announced Brylski enthusiastically. “Only...”

He hesitated, because the scene required him to move quite vigorously, first he ran, then he jumped over the wall and climbed through the window. The scene was not dangerous because this time he was not running on the roof but on the ground. The wall was not high and the window was easy to get to, only after the night's fun Rafal's body and mind rebelled against the intense physical exertion.

“Something wrong? Is something wrong with you?” Mońka was worried and looked at him carefully. Brylski blushed under his gaze and waved his hand vigorously in denial.

“No, no," he assured him. “I just wanted to ask from which leg I should bounce so that it would look better in front of the camera, because, you see...”

The stuntman accepted Brylski's explanation with a smile of a person who actually understands and started to explain to Rafał how to bounce from the ground to jump over the wall in an effective and impressive way for the camera. It even seemed that the question satisfied him. Rafał breathed a sigh of relief that he hadn't betrayed himself with his incomplete disposition, but he cursed in his mind that he hadn't thought at night about the scene awaiting him during the day.

But after all, there was no time to think at night. Damian appeared so suddenly and, like a tornado of passion, burst into his room to sweep him into its vortex and spit him out battered...

Preparing himself for the scene, Brylski looked at Radosz. The producer, with his arms folded across his chest, was standing near the monitor to which the image from the cameras was transmitted. He was standing literally three steps away from Różycki who was sitting in the director's chair. Radosz lifted his gaze from the monitor and looked at the set, at Brylski...

Their eyes touched and Rafał felt a flame in his body. A blush bubbled up on his face. Damian may have been in a relationship with a woman, but what he was doing with Rafal...
