The First Breakthrough
Meng Tian came back to his room and opened his Status screen to add the Energy Points. He noticed that the new Skills section also lit up when trying to add points, meaning he could now add the Energy points to skills as well. He was excited but he decided to first max out his Strength, Speed and Agility which were 0.7 each. He lied down on his bed to avoid any disturbances as him falling unconscious like what happened in the school infirmary.
He closed his eyes and spent nine points for this operation. He immediately felt a warm sensation flowing throughout his body as his skin, muscles, bones, blood, everything about him was undergoing a complete transformation. During this process, his mind relaxed completely and he fell asleep. After about an hour, he felt an itching sensation on his entire body and saw that his body was covered in a black layer of sludge which smelled like shit. He immediately got out of his bed and took a shower for about 30 minutes to completely remove that shitty smell off of him.
When he came out of the shower, he saw his bed sheets also had some residues of that black sludge. So, he went downstairs to put it in the washing machine. His parents were just about to sleep when they heard the washing machine whirring. Meng Tian's mother came down to check and saw that his bedsheet was inside the machine. She wondered if he was already at that age. She just smiled and went to her room and slept off.
Meng Tian was already in his room, sitting in his chair, looking at his Status Screen. He found a glowing HP bar hovering at the top right corner. His Maximum Health has increased from 100 to 1000. This was fascinating, as a ten times increase implies that his survivability has increased by such a factor as well. There were no other changes except that the Skills column now showed how many points to be added to reach the next level.
Now here came a small issue, "This is troublesome. Once I reached 1.0 in all the five major Stats (Strength, Speed, Agility, Intelligence and Spirit), I seem to have broken through some barrier that was preventing me from adding any more points to the Intelligence and Spirit Stats. Although, I can add points to all of these Stats now, the cost has shot up. A 0.1 increase in any of the Stats and Skills requires 10 Energy Points. So, to go from 1.0 to 2.0 in any of the 5 Stats requires 100 Energy Points. Similarly, to go from level 1 to level 2 in any Skill, the total Energy Points required is also 100. Where am I going to find so much food from?"
It was already past 10 PM and Meng Tian stopped thinking about all these things. He took out the textbooks of all his classes and started reading through them one by one finishing English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Politics, Geography, and Information Technology. Initially, he did not feel tired at all due to all of the energy coursing through his body after breaking through. By the time he finished reading all of them, he had already obtained 8 new skills.
Now that he memorized such huge amounts of information, his mind became heavy and he fell asleep. What he didn't notice was that it was already very close to his wake-up time. After about 40 minutes of deep sleep, his mother came to wake him up. When she entered the room, there were so many text books lined up on his table and Meng Tian fell asleep in his chair by resting his head on the table. His mother was instantly worried about her son's behaviour. She never wanted him to face any struggles in life. Although she felt happy that he had somehow become hardworking, she did not want him to work too hard as well. She was now conflicted whether to let her son sleep for sometime. But, she wanted her son's attendance to be perfect in his first year of high school. Thus, she went ahead and woke him up.
Meng Tian was completely unconscious and could not sense anything in his surroundings. But when his mother patted his head slowly to wake him up, he instantly felt awake. Even though he felt a bit tired, it was not at a level that he could not move at all. So, he freshened himself up and came down to have breakfast. That was when he noticed an elderly lady beside his mother helping her with cooking. Meng Tian went to his father and asked, "Dad, when did we get a new housemaid?"
"Your appetite has increased and eating outside food all the time is not healthy. It had not been that long since our last housemaid quit to go back to her village. We had not put hiring a new maid as a priority and it had already been a month since the old maid left. So, we called up a hiring service yesterday night and got a new housemaid today morning. By the way, I know that you are at an age where you body is changing, if you feel like you need to talk to someone about it, I am always available. Okay? And don't go around washing bedsheets in the middle of the night... Hahaha..."
Although Meng Tian's parents were more talkative than other families, this conversation with his dad embarrassed the hell out of him. His mother came to the dining table and started patting his head and said, "Why do you care if he washes his bedsheets at night? He is at that age and we should support him a lot. My dear Xiao Tian, are there any girls that you like in your class?" she started observing her son's face a little closer and noticed that he had become fairer than yesterday. She did not notice it in the morning while waking him up. "Oh dear! Xiao Shu, look at our son... He had become so handsome... It is decided we are going to start looking for a suitable daughter-in-law... Oh my God! I am so excited..."
His father also started looking at Meng Tian and imperceptibly nodded to himself. This action did not escape from Meng Tian's vision. Even the new housemaid came up to the table and gave a slight nod. He immediately felt cold sweat on his back, thinking about his parents plans. His mother kept on looking at her son like some kind of a trophy. Meng Tian kept his mouth shut and did not even lift his head up. He quickly completed his breakfast and ran out of his house. His parents looked at his back and started laughing boisterously.
Meng Tian heaved a sigh of relief and started to look through his Status screen as he fell asleep reading and didn't get a chance to do so.

Just as he was going through all of his skills, which frankly was quite a surprise to him, Fatty Li came running to Meng Tian. He looked at Meng Tian's fair face and a slightly lean muscular body. Fatty Li immediately bellowed, "You... Why the heck are you so fair?... Traitor! Yesterday, you used some plans to get on with the new English Teacher and today you used some wonder cosmetics... And since when did you start working out?..." Fatty Li wanted to hold Meng Tian's neck under his elbow, but Meng Tian dodged instantly and started running towards school.
