Using Kill Points

Meng Tian had obtained a total of 1720 Kill Points which he had not used to do anything yet. Hence, he decided to try adding them to his Stats.

However, just as he thought to do so, only a couple of rows in his Status Screen lit up. They were some of the skills that he currently possessed. He knew what this meant, he could only add the Kill Points to these particular items.

Meng Tian was perplexed by this discovery but continued to add one kill point to a skill that he had no plans of using yet. Immediately, a significant change took place in the status window as the name of that skill had become tinged with red.

[Slaughter Spear Lv.2 (Intermediate) (0/100)]

However, when he glanced at the kill points, the number decreased by ten. He had only wanted to spend one kill point but ten were spent automatically by the system. Nonetheless, Meng Tian was quite relaxed as he was not bothered by it and was just testing them out.

He took out a spear from his consciousness space and tried to execute the new spear skill. There was no difference with the skill level but as he moved his spear to make a piercing motion, it became tinged with a blood red aura.

Meng Tian was quite familiar with this... "Slaughter!..."

His spear released an aura that could suffocate anyone below his cultivation realm. Normal humans could instantly be snuffed out of life upon coming into contact with it. However, he had complete control over this aura perhaps due to his skill 'Aura of Slaughter'.

This skill imbues his entire body and soul with the slaughter aura making him emotionless and ruthless in his actions. His attacks also are tinged with this aura suffocating everyone around him. This aura showed no difference with respect to friends or enemies. Hence, Meng Tian had made it a point not to use this skill unless he was dead serious in starting a massacre.

Meng Tian was already a high level cultivator and could instinctively manipulate the qi in his surroundings to set up a kind of barrier that avoids any snooping from others, just like his Senior Apprentice Brother, Principal Ren, who was also a Martial General (Core Formation Realm).

He also had his Perfect level Elemental Qi Barrier that could be expanded up to a radius of 5 metres around him. So, the controlled slaughter aura released by the spear could not threaten anyone if he did not wish to do so.

Adding kill points to weapon skills seemed like a good idea as it would increase the power output of the skill and release an aura that could intimidate even the soul of the target. It was also much better than activating the Aura of Slaughter skill directly, that would make him truly ruthless.

Meng Tian checked to see if he could find anything more interesting to add the kill points to. His eyes locked onto a skill that had been quite useful to him tonight.

"Hahaha... Let me what magic this will show me."

Just as he added a kill point to this skill, a red aura gathered inside his consciousness space. It began to condense into a small figure of a man fully covered in blood with its devilish red pupils locked on to Meng Tian's Soul body.

However, the Soul body opened its deep blue eyes and the golden light surrounding it shone slightly. Immediately, the small red figure took back its gaze and knelt down with deep reverence towards the Soul body. It then transformed back into a red aura that gently entered the deep blue eyes of his Soul.

The deep blue eyes of the Soul Body gradually began to merge with the incoming red aura. However, according to normal time, it took only but a moment for this process to complete. The eyes of the Soul body had completely transformed from deep blue to deep purple.

On the outside, Meng Tian's body was sitting on the bed with his eyes closed. As he slowly opened them, one could observe his black eyes turn into deep purple... And a new prompt appeared in front of him.

[Eye of the Devil Lv.4 (Perfection) (0/1,000)]

Anyone who looked into his eyes would feel a kind of pressure on their very souls, making them unable to even control their own qi. However, they would not show any resistance to this as their souls are enchanted by the charm of the purple eyes.

If he so wished to, Meng Tian could bewilder the souls of his enemies and get any information that he desired. This was a very useful skill and he had to thoroughly test it, to find out the exact limits of the control over others, especially powerful cultivators.

Meng Tian was quite elated by the new version as this skill was completely his own and could be used without any fear of the powerful cultivators from Yu Xunuo's family.

However, the smile on his face slowly faded as he looked at the prompt closely.

"D... De... Devil!? Fuck!! You are the devil... Your entire family is the devil... Hmph... But come to think of it, the name does sound much cooler."

However, he did not notice his purple eyes turning back into black after about a second.

Meng Tian then looked at his remaining kill points and found only 710 of them. A thousand kill points were spent to transform the perfect level Eye of Charm skill.

Only then could he make an assumption on how the kill points actually functioned. A level 1 skill required 1 kill point for transforming it with the slaughter aura. Similarly, a level 2 skill required a consumption of 10 kill points and so on.

"But, why is it that I can't control the number of kill points that can be added? Hmm... It doesn't really matter anyway. It's not like I have that many skills that I want to transform using kill points. The skills from the ones I killed today...If I transform them, I can use them without having to be afraid of their cult finding out. They will be brand new skills. Hmm..."

1 Kill Point spent... [Shadow of the Devil Lv.1 (0/10)]

1 Kill Point spent... [Fallen Sins Bloom Sword Lv.1 (0/10)]

1 Kill Point spent... [Despoliation Meteor Fist Lv.1 (0/10)]

Once Meng Tian spent kill points on these skills, a new cluster of information was transmitted into his mind and he understood the changes in these three skills.

The Green Devil's Shadow was now the Shadow of the Devil, which apart from hiding in the shadows could now be used to track his targets by marking their souls!!

The Fallen Sins Bloom is a fast-drawing sword that could not only cut the opponent but also their soul. The noteworthy thing is that as the number of sins committed by the enemy increases, the probability of crushing the target's soul also increases.

And the Despoliation Meteor Fist brought him another surprise where he could plunder the 'life-force' of the target for himself.

Meng Tian was ecstatic by the transformed skills and the possible implications of him using them. But he did no have enough kill points to transform all of his skills. So, he decided to stop using them for the day. Nonetheless, he was not afraid as he was on his way to be the strongest of this world.

There was one skill he did not think of leveling up till now. Meng Tian was concerned if he could control its effects once he did so. But after unlocking his Heart Cultivation, he was more comfortable in taking this step.

One had to bear in mind that this skill could not be transformed into something else using the kill points, as both of them were already inherently related. So, Meng Tian used his Energy Points to level it up.

100 Energy Points spent... [Aura of Slaughter Lv.2 (0/100)]

1000 Energy Points spent... [Aura of Slaughter Lv.3 (0/1000)]

10,000 Energy Points spent... [Aura of Slaughter Lv.4 (0/10,000)]

Once he was done with it, he could feel that his control over the skill was much better. He could direct this aura at will and exclude affecting his allies in a battle.

In spite of all these changes happening, Meng Tian did not stop leveling up his new skills using Energy Points enhancing their effects and ranges.

11100 Energy Points spent... [Shadow of the Devil Lv.4 (0/10,000)]

11100 Energy Points spent... [Fallen Sins Bloom Sword Lv.4 (0/10,000)]

11100 Energy Points spent... [Despoliation Meteor Fist Lv.4 (0/10,000)]
