Continuous Battles

"That was amazing Brother Meng. I, Liling, give my heart-felt support for your pursuit of Sister Xunuo. Don't forget to call me if she doesn't agree. I will always make time for you. Hehehe."

"Wh... What?" Meng Tian knew that his senior was a little mischievous, but still she always brought up Yu Xunuo in her remarks. However, he just controlled his emotion and smiled a little to continue chopping off the dead boar.

He took some parts that he could keep as food supplies and left the rest. Meng Tian looked to his side and saw Yu Xunuo standing guard for him. "Hmm... Not bad, she seems quite interested in me. Let's see how this goes."

As they continued their journey, just like clockwork they were attacked at least four times in an hour. However, the monster numbers used to vary from one to five. But not all of them were aggressive and ready to fight upon sight. Some were mellow like the white deer with huge antlers sharp enough to pierce through fortified steel.

Nonetheless, almost all of the others were proper beasts including twin-tailed foxes, flame toothed tigers, red-eyed rabbits, purple eye monkeys and so on... Each one unique on their own.

Although they were exhausted, the group had no doubt that this was a part of the test to reach the camp site. But everything was in Meng Tian's control. However, he had not seen even a single one of his team mates using a skill other than the three basic techniques from school. He was a little disappointed on not being able to see something new.

All of the beasts that they encountered were at the Martial Apprentice level. Some of them were even at level-3 of this realm. Even so, the team was able to kill them with minor injuries at most. Thus, during the final leg of the journey Meng Tian made some level 4 apprentice level beasts to block their way.

That was when their teamwork began to falter. Meng Tian was still relaxed but the others were sweating buckets to handle them. In spite of all of that, they were still alive largely due to the increase in cohesion that they developed during the tens of intense battles through the entire journey. And of course Meng Tian never intended for them to die, so he made subtle moves to help them during an emergency.

Although the battles were under his control, his fights were always solo and ended right before everyone else. He took his time to understand more of his power, and increase the control over his skills. Meng Tian fought barehanded the entire time. Yu Xunuo even offered him a spare sword for safety, which he politely declined saying he wanted to improve his boxing skills.

During the entire journey, Meng Tian was keeping track of their surroundings at all times. So, he knew exactly where they needed to go and was giving them the shortest path for the same. Thus, it took them only five hours to reach their destination.

By the time it was 5 PM, Meng Tian's team spotted a series of small tents and they reached their destination safe and sound. They were the first to reach the camp and their arrival attracted a lot of attention from the people in the camp.

A young lady in her early twenties came up to them and said, "Congratulations, you are the first team to arrive at the District Training Camp location for this year. Please go ahead and register yourselves at one of the reception desks. Your school teacher is already present in the camp."

The team leader Lin Caihong went ahead and registered their names as instructed. Their school teacher Tiao Lianhua was already waiting for them and gave a light smile as she noticed all of them reach the camp with only minor injuries.

After their arrival, numerous teams started reaching the camp one by one. Five hundred schools were participating in the camp and after a period of time, all of them were accounted for. From the discussions among themselves, Meng Tian came to know that most of the teams had a relatively smooth journey unlike them.

His Spiritual Sense covered the entire camp area and he found a total of 3500 students accompanied by their own school teachers adding to 500. The camp also included 50 Martial Apprentices, 10 Martial Soldiers, and 1 Peak level Martial Warrior.

Meng Tian was curious about the preparations in the camp and after noticing the composition of the camp, he was pretty sure that it was useless for him to be there. As he was thinking about it, the martial warrior at the peak foundation establishment realm came outside his tent.

"Hello students. I am Colonel Wang Ming, the in-charge of this camp. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the annual district training camp. As you know, you will all be spending two months in the wilderness... fighting, learning and improving your martial techniques."

"Survival is the key in all this training. Although the entire operations team here is there to keep you safe from mortal danger, we cannot assure we will be able to save you in time, every time."

"And as this is the first time we have included the first year representatives of your respective schools to participate in the camp, there will also be changes in the mode of operation of the camp. Just like you were assessed for your teamwork during your journey this afternoon to reach the camp."

"Coming to the rewards, in these two months, you will be tested on various aspects and given points for the completed tasks. At the end of the camp period, the total will be tallied. Based on the rankings of your respective teams, the resources allocated to your schools for the next academic year will be decided."

"Individual performances will also be rewarded. The top three students in your final year of high school will be provided the chance to compete for a seat in the prestigious capital college. The top three in the first and second years will be provided with special resources to further strengthen your bodies. There are rewards for those in the ten as well. I won't explain much about that. That's it."

"This guy does not seem to like being here that much..." Meng Tian was thinking about the martial warrior who just finished his 'speech' and left for his tent. But he was sure that this colonel guy definitely looked at him when he did that.

All the students had to pitch their own tents as a part of the camp which frankly was not that difficult for a bunch of teenagers with huge amounts of stamina and strength than normal adults. All the materials required were provided by the camp.

Meng Tian was keeping track of everything around him and once he ascertained that there would be no danger for any of them, he went ahead and checked his status to see how many kill points he had accumulated over the entire afternoon.

At the end of the day, by killing so many beasts, his kill points piled up to a little above twelve hundred.

[Kill Points: 1207]

When he saw this count, he started smiling widely. It just so happened that the direction he was looking at turned out to be where Lin Caihong was sitting. Wu Liling was sitting with the girls and observed this happen and immediately reported it to the other two. All the three turned towards him and saw his foolish smile.

But as they observed him, they saw that he was not actually looking at them but staring into space thinking about something. They got embarrassed and vowed to never speak of this matter again.

After checking his status, Meng Tian had some dinner provided by the camp along with his team members and went back to his personal tent. He laid back on his bed and tried to figure out what to do with his time in the camp.

'Principal Ren said that I should perform my best and I did do it all along the way. It should be more than enough for a student who had just become a Martial Apprentice. Hmm... But I would only be wasting time if I sit here like this.'

Meng Tian immediately thought of upgrading his skills using the kill points. As he was looking through the available skills, two skills stood out the most- Spiritual Sense Discretization and Blood Clone, both of which he got from the old parchment from before.

'I wonder what happens if I convert them using kill points... My spiritual sense is already too good and I don't really need any improvements right away. But my clones can use some more abilities if I could get them from using kill points...'

He did not think too much before making a decision to add kill points to his blood clone skill.
