Clouding my better judgement

"So then Marry me," he said again. I let out a irritated grown. "You are spoiling the moment," I muttered. "Just make love to me already," I sighed.

"If you marry me," he pressed while he was still thrusting against me. "You are clouding my better judgement right now," I croaked. "Is it working?" he wickedly smiled. He stopped again. I was getting agitated because I longed for a release and he was withholding it on purpose.

"You are manipulating me with my desire for you," I fussed. "No, I am just making you see what a good pair we make," he disagreed.

I blew out sharply. "Jeez, don't force me into this," I said and pushed him away. I got out of bed and walked to the walk-in closet. Dean came right after me. "Melissa, you don't understand, we do not have a choice," he said desperate to make me see his point.

Well, I did not. "Of course we have a choice. We have the choice to get to know each other." I shrugged. "Before making life-altering decisions at least," I added. Dean licked his lips as he approached me.

"For the stars and the heavens Melissa," he shook his head. "Our lives have already been altered", he said pinching his eyes shut.

"It was altered the moment I decided to take you in my arms," he said and he opened his eyes again. His pale-blue eyes penetrated mine, as if he could look right through my soul.

"I know you have been hurt, and I wish I had the time to heal all your wounds before I asked you to marry be, but we do not…" and he breathed out sharply. "We do not," he began again. "Have that time," he said lastly.

"Why not?" I held up my shoulders. "Because Dani entered me in a stupid competition?" I said almost pulling my hair out. "Yes," he stated. "That competition will land you into the crown-princes bed," he said almost furious.

"Whaat???" I shouted furiously. "What the heck are you saying?" I snapped at him. "That I am some sort of whore who will enter anyone's bed? Are you freaking insane." I growled.

"Stars, you are taking this the wrong way. I meant to say that he will pick you," he said and came closer to me. "But I have already chosen you, so what is your problem," I said in despair. "I just think that marriage is too fast…. Not long ago you did not even speak to me," I said as I took clean panties out of a drawer and put them on.

"You don't understand," he breathed. He closed the distance and cupped my face. "You don't understand," he said again. "No, I don't." I blew out sharply. I did not feel like fighting him, why was he making this so hard.

"Explain it to me," I whispered. Dean placed his head against mine. "You are right. Darling, you need to know that I am-"

"What in the world are you two doing," my mother shouted. "Shoot", I muttered. I was still in my bra and panties. This did not look good. "Ma'm, I am… I love your daughter," said Dean.

"I knew it. I knew there was something going on. Seriously Melissa? Seriously? Did you think that I was crazy? That I would not find out that he was the one you broke your marriage off for," she continued her rage.

"Melissa and I have only been seeing each other for a week," Dean said in defence. "So you want me to believe that you would do all that for someone you have known for a week? What kind of fool do you think I am?" She went on.

"No, it is not that we know each other for a week, I have known her for two years," Dean corrected her. "Two years Melissa. Two years!" she shouted.

"Mom it's not-"

One of the butlers stormed in as well. "Great, what a party," I said sourly, grabbing my bathrobe from the chair and putting it on.

"You High- Master you need to come to the main house immediately," the butler said. Dean shook his head. "Not now Mario," Dean said curtly.

"If you will not come to the main house I fear he will come here," the butler said eyeing me. Dean scratched his beard and glanced at me and then at my mom.

"Fine," was the only thing he said. "Who would come here?" I asked in shock. "My father," said Dean like it was a cuss word.

Dean walked up to me, like he did not care who watched us. Cupped my face again and softly kissed my lip. "I will be back. I am sorry," he whispered.

He darted out the room, leaving me eye in eye with my mother. The horror. I decided that I was not going to apologize, because there was nothing to apologize for.

"You are a horrific mom," my mother told me. I twitched my lips, and tried not to speak. Because nothing in my mind sounded nice enough to actually say. Who was she to speak? It was not like a ever had a normal childhood to begin with.

I opened one of the cabinets, picking out a dress to wear, when my mother went further attacking me. "All this for the money? He has bought you all this new clothes, hasn't he," my mother said bitterly.

I did not respond and got dressed. "Acting like this, you are nothing more than a whore," she insulted me. "ENOUGH," I shouted.

"I get that you do not understand the situation. To be honest, I don't either. But it does not give you the right to talk to me this way," I said, my hands trembling. "I have not been cheating on Mason, he always cheated on me."

"Dean and I haven't even been friends since very recently. The last two years, he and I barely spoke a word to one another." I did not know why I was explaining this to her.

"Are you saying that a guy who you did not have a long-term, well something with, bought you all this?" she questioned me.

I opened up my mouth and then closed it. "I guess not," I shook my head. "Dean has confessed to have been in love with me for the last two years," I told her.

"Listen Melissa," my mom began lecturing me. "This is not the time to start a relationship."
