Rebirth

Flames danced all over. A demon level monster made of fire released wave after wave of flames on the innocent people of City B. The flames it spread forth turned everything they touched into a fiery inferno, making it impossible for anyone to escape. This could also be said to be true for a certain young girl who was only sixteen. Sweat dripped from the girl's brow as her green hair fluttered under her own power. Her name, Yuki…. The youngest of three sisters. The middle sister, Fubuki, a B-class rank one hero, and her eldest sister, Tatsumaki, an S class hero rank number two.

"Tatsumaki nee-san will probably cry again….." Yuki mumbled as she felt the heat of the flames beginning to burn her skin. She did not even realize that she, herself, was crying because her tears were instantly evaporating due to the heat of the flames. Her green hair that matched her eldest sister's perfectly was beginning to burn away, quickly reaching the top of her head. "Nee-san is so powerful, yet I, even after training for so long, can not even hold this bit of flame back until help arrives."

Yuki could feel her skin beginning to melt away. The pain was bad, but instead of screaming as a normal person would, she only gritted her teeth. She was trying to push through. No matter how much pain she felt, she wished to live. She wished to follow in her eldest sister's footsteps and become a S-class hero. But sadly, even though she was pushing her psychokinesis to the max to push the flames back, she realized her power was just not strong enough. Sixteen years of training, and she still was as helpless as a lamb. "Nee-san, sorry…. Yuki, can't hold on anymore…."

Yuki could feel the life inside her beginning to fade away. There were no ands, its, or buts about it. She was going to die. Even if her elder sister did show up, there was no way she would survive now that her body looked as charred as the wood around her.

"Yuki!" Tatsumaki's eyes were full of worry and panic. She had raced through the flames, not caring about anyone else. She only cared about trying to save her little sister. "Yuki!" With a wave of her hand, the burning collapsed roof was flung away, piles of debris followed. She only stopped when she saw a small charred figure with a slight green light covering her body.

Tatsumaki did not even need to check to know who it was. With another wave of her hand, the charred figure floated over to her. Tatsumaki's eyes were full of tears as she looked at her little sister. She felt pain, anguish, and anger. She hated herself for being too slow. She hated the damn monster who caused her sister to suffer as so. Her hand shook as it reached out to touch her sister's face but paused in fear of hurting her. Tatsumaki was in a state of shock, unsure what she should do. No matter how she saw it, she did not know if her sister could be saved.

Yuki, whose life was fading away, slowly opened her eyes and looked up at her precious dear elder sister, and forced a pained smile on her charred lips. "Nee-san…. Don't cry…."

Tatsumaki's eyes opened wide as she watched as her sister's eyes slowly closed, her charred body going fully limp. "Yuki!? Yuki! Don't do this to me, Yuki! Yuki, say something!"

Coldness… This was what Yuki felt at this time. In a way, it was slightly comforting after being burned for so long. "Nee-san…."

Yuki suddenly felt like something was off. She could have sworn that she had just died, but for some reason, she was conscious once more. On top of that, the coldness in her body was becoming more pronounced. Her eyelids fluttered as she slowly opened them and began looking around. "This…."

Wood walls, ceiling, and floor. Not exactly something she was expecting to see. But what was more shocking was the ice build up on the side of the walls. The more she looked around, the more she realized something. She, herself, was lying in a pile of snow! "What, why!?"

Yuki had wondered why it was so cold. She turned her head and looked at a small group of kids, all dressed in cheaply made clothing. There was one boy out of all of them that stuck out the most. He had blonde spiky hair and marks on his face that almost looked like whiskers. He looked no more than five years of age and was standing in front of the group of kids who were of similar age.

Yuki did not know why but they were all staring at her with a bit of fear and even hate? "So cold…." Yuki shivered as she slowly began to get up. But frozen when she saw her own body. She was in a dazed state before, but now that she was more awake, she felt there was seriously something off about her body.

"What!? How!?" Young yet skinny hands. Much smaller than the hands she remembered. Even her chest had disappeared. Not that she had much to work with before, but now it was as flat as a board! "This isn't right. What happened to me…? Right! Nee-san!"

Yuki looked left and right but saw nothing but the same as before. Her elder sister was nowhere in sight. She was having a hard time trying to grasp her situation, but she knew it was best to try to stay calm. Her elder sister had always told her that being calm in any situation would help much more than panicking. "Right. First things first… I should get out of this snow…."

Yuki really had no idea where this snow was coming from, that was until she got up and took a step forward. She looked down at her feet in disbelief. Snow formed around her foot and began to spread out in all directions. She took another step forward, and the same thing happened yet again. Yuki was stupefied. While she knew, currently, there was no way the body she was in was her own, she had never seen or heard of such a strange power. Her shock and amazement was interrupted when she heard a young boy shout out: "Stay back you monster!"
