"huh?" the girl asked wondering why he was calling her 'bird girl'.
"Sorry, I didn't get your name, but you're the girl who sang that original song for the auditions. I think the words were 'like a bird, I'm free to fly'." Yoon-Gi excused. "I'm Min Yoon-Gi." He introduced as he put out his hand to the girl.
Looking at his hand the girl took his and into hers and shook it saying, "Oh, it's Park Jin-Ae."
They released each others hand, and Yoon-Gi then said, "I really loved your song by the way, it was filled with so much emotions."
"Thanks." Jin-Ae acknowledged. "Wait, were you one of those guys who did the surprise show?" She asked pointing at him.
"Yeah." Yoon-Gi nodded.
"You guys were really good, I could see why everyone love you guys. Where's the other two by the way?"
"Oh, Tae-Hyung's inside the café and Jungkook is on his way, he called saying to get a latte for him so here I am." Yoon-Gi explained.
Jin-Ae smiled, "That's what I'm getting, if you want I can order and bring it for you."
Yoon-Gi signaled a no saying, "I don't want to burden you."
"It's fine we're both gonna order a latte, makes it easier if only one of us orders. It's no bother." She insisted.
After a while of not being able to change Jin-Ae's mind Yoon-Gi gave up and told her where he would be sitting leaving her in the line.
Back in the café
"That was fast, where's the latte?" Tae-Hyung asked redirecting his eyes away from the screen of his phone as Yoon-Gi sat back in the seat opposite of him.
"Jin-Ae said that she'll get it." Yoon-Gi replied.
"Who's Jin-Ae?" Tae-Hyung questioned.
Yoon-Gi finished the last bit of Iced Americano in his cup then said, "ah, the girl who made us win the bet against your brother."
Tae-Hyung nodded in realization of who Yoon-Gi was talking about.
"HEY!" Tae-Hyung yelled as someone shagged his hair. He turned around only to see Jungkook, looking at him in amusement.
"What are you guys talking about?" Jungkook walked to the seat beside Yoon-Gi and sat down grabbing the box of croissants that was for him and opened it. He took out one of the two croissants and took a big bite then with his mouth stuffed queried, "Where is my latte?"
"You messed up my hair." Tae-Hyung whined as he lifted the phone screen up to see his reflection and started to fix his hair.
Ignoring his brother Jungkook turned to Yoon-Gi implying that Yoon-Gi should answer.
"Jin-Ae was in the line before me and she was getting a latte too so she offered to order it along with hers and then bring it over." He explained.
Jungkook nodded as he took a next bite of the croissant. While chewing he asked, "Who's Jin-Ae?"
"She's the girl...." Tae-Hyung paused as Jungkook reached for the vibrating phone in his pocket. At seeing who was calling him Jungkook started to choke. Jungkook then pushed the phone towards Tae-Hyung stipulating that he should answer.
He threw the half eaten croissant back into the box still choking he forced the phone into his brothers hand as he got up and headed to the bathroom. With no options left Tae-Hyung answered the phone, "Mom."
"Where's your brother? Put him on the phone." his mother shouted in a stern voice so loud that it startled Yoon-Gi who was just across the table.
Tae-Hyung pulled the phone a distance away from his ears and left it there as his mother continued to nag.
After a while, when Tae-Hyung could no longer hear the raging voice of his mother, he the phone back next to his ears. "Jungkook isn't here at the moment. He...uh...He's in the bathroom. Yeah; he ate something that just didn't agree with him." He lied.
"Kim Tae-Hyung, if you know what's good for you, you better not be lying for your brother." His his mom; Mrs. Kim sternly warned.
Chills came over him at hearing his mother say this for he knew that she wasn't kidding around. He gulped, "I'm not lying for him mom, I'm telling the truth, ask Yoon-Gi for yourself if you don't believe me." He passed the phone to Yoon-Gi who refused. Tae-Hyung got up from his seat and appeared beside Yoon-Gi in a swift thrusting the phone to his ears.
"Is he telling the truth?" Mrs. Kim asked.
Yoon-Gi looked at Tae-Hyung who had his palms together begging him to say yes.
"Yes Mrs. Kim. Jungkook is in the bathroom." Yoon-Gi said. Tae-Hyung watched as he nodded and spoke politely up until the point when he hung up and deeply exhaled.
"Woah! This is the first time you've lied to our mother." Tae-Hyung astonishingly stated. as he took back the phone from Yoon-Gi.
"I didn't, he is in the bathroom after all." Yoon-Gi corrected.
"Yeah, Yeah. Ah, but....how could she believe you instead of her own son." Tae-Hyung then slouched back into his chair.
"Maybe because she knows that the two of you holds one head." Yoon-Gi hinted.
"Hahaha, or maybe it because of the fact that she said you were her favorite ever since we became friends." Tae-Hyung lamely chuckled.
Suddenly a latte was placed on the table between Yoon-Gi and Tae-Hyung. They looked at the cup then looked up to see Jin-Ae.
"Here's your latte." She smiled.
Tae-Hyung looked up at her and introduced himself, "Hi you must be Jin-Ae, I'm Kim Tae-Hyung." Jin-Ae placed her late from her right to her left hand and shook Tae-Hyung's extended hand,
"Yes, nice to meet you."
"The guy this latte belongs to is in the bathroom, if you're not busy you can join us." Yoon-Gi offered.
She then switched back the cup into her right hand and politely refused, "Sorry, but I have to get going, I only came to get this."
"Too bad, maybe next time." Tae-Hyung suggested.
"Yeah." Yoon-Gi assured.
"Sure, why not? Next time then." Jin-Ae smiled as she waved them goodbye and exited the café. At the moment she walked through the door Jungkook entered back into the café from the bathroom.
"What did mom want?" Jungkook asked as he sat back down.
"To talk to you, what do you think?" Tae-Hyung snarled.
Yoon-Gi reached for the latte and passed it to Jungkook.
"Where was this when I was choking." Jungkook joked as he took the latte from Yoon-Gi and swallowed a mouthful. "Where's the girl who brought it?" He then asked.
Tae-Hyung pointed his thumb behind him, "You just missed her."
"Oh yeah? Bummer." Jungkook reached for the half eaten croissant he threw into box before he left and continued to eat it. He looked at the watch on his hand to see the time and quickly finished up the croissant saying "We're gonna be late."
He closed the box with his second croissant inside it. "Phone." He said reaching his hand out to Tae-Hyung who gave him back his phone.
The three guys then gathered up their stuff and walked towards the café's door. They walked out into the street with Jungkook in the middle, Tae-Hyung to his right and Yoon-Gi to his left heading towards the parking lot in front of the school.
