Chapter 17: Talks

~Albus POV~

"ROAR!"

"DIE!"

*Zzz*

Using my right arm I destroyed the Grimm as I vented out a bit from the constant wave of Grimm in the area as I feel myself getting over tired from doing all of this fighting.

Been using Cursed Restoration to keep me standing but I feel like I'm about to give out fighting this much.

Damn it.

Is this how it feels like to fight such a great and nearly everyday occurrence here in Remnant against Grimm?

*Shiver*

I have to wonder how lucky I am surviving on my own really is up till now.

*BANG*

"Quick covering fire more Grimm in that direction!"

"Right!"

"Aim and shoot the thing!"

*BANG*

Good thing I'm not alone in this as I was lucky enough to have met the White Fang here as they also made some good work of the Grimm in the area as I try to help out with my Alchemy and Mana reserves.

Using my Ultimate Eye to dodge some lethal strikes with the help of the Grunts certainly, made all the difference while Ilia made the attacks with her electric sword… whip… wand…?

"ROAR!"

Whoa!

Dodging another one in the last second using my Mana to reinforce my body reflexes along with the Ultimate Eye there I almost lost my head in the process.

*Zzz*

Quickly destroying the Grimm using my right arm again it deconstructed to nothing as I began to breathe out tiredly at this, "Sigh… huff… any idea when these Grimm bastards will go away or finally drove off."

Ilia replies to my question seeing some injuries on her as she looks tired with a raspy voice as she replied, "Huff… no end… but hopefully soon though… Still, how did they suddenly get here unnoticed like this?"

Maybe it was a certain bandit.

Could be wrong but gut feeling.

Trying to use my Cursed Energy I then came to realize that I finally tapped out as I began to reply to everyone here exhausted, "Sorry guys but… I won't be healing anymore tapped out of energy to use. So… don't lose any body parts."

"Fucking hell mate."

"Damn it we lost the white mage."

"Yeah being healed up was enough."

"No need to go the extra mile."

Crazy that all of them saying those words to their supposed enemy one day.

Honestly, it did make me feel glad as I began to close my eyes I start having trouble staying conscious as my mind is in-between blacking out again.

Man, that is becoming a thing with me isn't it?

Ugh…

Feeling weak between the legs I guess my body's need for resting is catching up as I felt tired.

Just so tired…

Everything in my body demanded to rest from over-exhausting my body to this state as I felt myself getting heavy.

Ilia noticed my condition her eyes widen as I began to lose myself a bit.

Words were becoming bleak and fuzzy as I began to lose myself in the darkness.

Man, I must really be dying or I'm blacking out again.

This is really turning into a bothersome habit now.

But before I lose my consciousness though I did see Adam finally appearing on the scene as I had mixed feelings about the whole thing.

Welp if I survive then good if not well…

It was a nice life.

Waking my eyes up not dead I see myself… oh come on.

Again?

Ok, the situation is really becoming a trend of me going to the doctors after that whole fiasco of events happening in this village.

Grimm wave invasion after I land here I can't help but feel incredibly unlucky staying here any longer than necessary considering the fact I nearly died.

Twice in this world for no less than a week.

Sigh…

*Knock*

When I was alone in room I began to get myself back together again when I saw few members of the group I saved came in to see my condition as I replied, "Yo. See I'm totally alive and not dead tired."

They laughed awkwardly at my attempt but still good one as we all talked.

Managed to get info out from them about how they are leaving soon leaving me with some of the grunts talking as Illa came to me, "Hey. Human thanks for helping some of the members out. The White Fang could use someone like you."

Laughing a bit on that I replied somewhat bitterly at that as I replied, "Yeah I bet you guys would need a healer. Sadly though not every Faunus is going to welcome a human like me especially your members on the more… radical side. No offence by the way."

"Hehe."

"Well…"

"He ain't wrong."

When they came over they began to explain what happen after I was knocked out and Adam saving the group when I blacked out from the exhaustion.

After the events of the Grimm wave attacking the White Fang members that I saved told me their tales of how I healed their group and saved Illa from the Grimm with me being injured and all.

Fighting side by side seems to have left a good impression with Ghira and Sienna having saved fellow Faunus and people from that shit storm.

No warning whatsoever really a dangerous call I ever encountered but at least I managed to hold my own well enough.

Fuck.

Still though I was only lucky I had some help but what I need now is really up myself on getting stronger.

Fortunately, though the Ghira saw to himself that I get paid for my treatments helping his fellow Faunus in this town medical room.

I seriously owe that guy a lot for helping me out in my dire need… and Adam since he did save my ass.

Well, his Faunus friends' asses but I counted somewhere along the way.

Really got to not show my emotions that much since only a few members of the grunts of the White Fang group saw me heal them it was in the heat of the moment kind of deal.

Illa laughed nervously at that already agreeing to my words as she replied nervously at that fact, "Hehehe… yeah that would be pretty hard to convince. Shame I didn't get to talk more with you because well…"

Laughing a bit and nodding in understanding I completely agreed since I knew her back story from the show, "No problem really. I get humans must have hurt you at one point I get why some took their distance away and said no when you did. Shame I get to really talk to you when after an attack really got to stop landing into hospitals like this."

Now it was her turn to laugh at that as she began to leave as did the rest of the grunts, "Haha. Yeah, you seem to have a knack just for that kind of trouble. Anyway, thanks for your help Human we appreciate it."

"It's Albus."

They paused a bit before I calmly answered them in a friendly manner, "It's Albus. No need for the Human terming on me."

"Albus is that right?"

Hearing that voice I next saw Ghira, and Sienna both coming in as Ghira smiles at me bit too weirdly for my case, "Albus you were the one that helped Ilia group from the sudden Grimm attack before fainting correct?"

Nodding at his question I replied my reasoning for it being simple would suffice, "Uh… yeah. I saw them in danger and not mauled by the Grimm. I thought I could help them out and form a group for safety against the Grimm."

Sienna glances at me with a questioning gaze at me before Ghira smiles as he elbows Sienna of my words, "See Sienna? Human and Faunus cooperation is possible."

Sienna rolls her eyes at this as I was somewhat confused about the situation that happened currently couldn't help but asking, "Anyway I see you guys aren't as bad as most people perceive you to be. So, what are your plans after this?"

Ghira thinks a bit before he finally replies to me, "I think we must return back to Menagerie for the time being. Your group got lucky ans we had some casulties.... And if you wish your always welcomed to come by to Menagerie human."

"High Leader!"

Some of the grunts and Sienna seemed surprised by the invitation as Ghira raises his hand up before replying why, "Halt! Don't question me on this Sienna I know Humanity is not to set foot on Menagerie but… if this human Albus managed to save a brother and sister of the Faunus then his very welcomed to visit if you should young man."

Well…

This is certainly an interesting development happening today that's for sure.

Grinning at this invite to their private island I couldn't help but agree on it but not right now though.

While I would love to visit the home of the Faunus, I have to deal with my own concerns for the time being as I replied to Ghira, "Menagerie the home of the Faunus huh? As much as I would like to take you up on that offer Ghira I would have to decline. At least for now."

He raised his eyebrow at this as I explained to him what I intended to do here, "I want to travel around Remnant for the time being. Feeling like to explore is all but I do intend to take your offer."

He grins at this as he could only accept my choice as he responded, "Hmm… very well then if that's all then I would leave you time to recover as thanks for protecting my fellow Faunus."

Like that he began to turn around and leave along with the Grunts as well as Ilia but not before some goodbyes or farewells to each other as I was finally left alone.

Whew…

Talk about a very scary thing to have happened here but I should consider myself lucky I managed to live that out as long as I have.

Getting myself up again I began to see a chair nearby with my stuff inside my bag I got from the previous village as well as the new sword that may have been stolen.

Sigh…

Ouch.

Moving my muscles I felt some tears from them and aches coming from my bones of over using my body too much like that.

Ow.

Damn it even moving is a pain as I could lightly move feeling that my bones are going to fall or break apart at this rate.

Argh…

Guess I have to wait a bit before I could resupply myself with Cursed Restoration to use to restore my body again.

Hurts but it's something I can deal with.

Really should get to conditioning my body soon or else I might just die again.
