Chapter 37: The Grimm Reaper Return
~Albus POV~
*Zzzz*
The buzzing sounds of Alchemic energy from the Philosopher Stone resonated within the private area as I began to transmute Maria's body reconstructing the cells back to their prime by removing the old ones into new ones.
Now I'm no master of Bio Alchemy I'll admit but lucky me I have the Stone to ignore the laws of Equivalent Exchange reorganizing everything Maria had to her prime as I began to see her change from her old state to her prime.
As a young woman, Maria was very beautiful, she had shoulder-length black ash hair, silver eyes, and was much taller. She wore an ornate skull mask that all but completely concealed her face, revealing only her lower jaw.
She wore a laced waist-cincher over a long blue tunic with a dark gray hemline that fell over a dark teal skirt that also had the same gray hem. The tunic opens in a 'v' to reveal an off-white folded collar.
The long sleeves are also cinched just above the elbows. All three cinches and the hem are the same dark gray as the hooded cloak Maria also wore. Her boots were dark brown. In addition, she wore a dark blue skull necklace.
Have to admit she is a hottie when she was young.
"Yowch!"
"That fucking hurt brat!"
And…
The downside of having all you're skin and cells forcibly pulled off from your body…
Yeah, not a fun experience.
Same for me since I ate a Stone that forced my body to rip apart getting the Ultimate Eye but then again it's been my best power so…
No pain and no gain.
Right?
When the whole entire process was done I began to talk to her in a calm voice, "So then Maria how do you like having your age returned again?"
She blinks at this as she views herself with disbelief written on her face as she examines everything she asked in me in disbelief, "How…? No one in Remnant would have this kind of medical power. Was it your semblance?"
Shaking my head giving that answer but I wasn't going to give her the right one either as I wanted to move on from that topic.
Moving along to the next subject while ignoring the first one about how I rejuvenated her youth again, "Sorry but that's going to be a secret. Moving on though as promised I have achieved getting you your youth and can you do what you promised in return Maria…?"
Returning to the topic at hand as she remembered my deal she agreed immediately with thanks in her voice as she replied, "Wha…? Oh! Right of course you needed a traveling and teaching instructor. You got it, kid. I mean you managed to heal me to my prime and no more aching bones my goodness it was a pain I tell you."
"Hahaha."
Laughing lightly at the predicament I could probably imagine being old doesn't help her out.
But she examines everything on her body as I began to leave but not before giving her my Scroll number on the table as well as some Lien to pay for the food as I spoke, "Well then Maria. I see you need to get adjusted to your body again. How about we talk again when you are done getting used to your new young body."
Maria struggles a bit to get up as she nervously replies back to me about the situation, "Hehe… yeah. I guess I need to readjust my body again. So, used to be a short stack granny. Hope Pietro wouldn't miss much of my checkups."
Leaving behind Maria to readjust herself again I began to go to my room for the night considering my actions.
/////
*Thud*
"Sigh…"
Relaxing a bit and going on to the bed I have to consider my actions of making Maria young again were risky if she asks any unnecessary questions about how I restored her to her prime.
That was one of the questions I wanted to avoid as no doubt she will meet Pietro in her state considering she got a second chance in her lifetime.
Hell, I went the extra mile to make sure her body gets an extended life again with the fact that she can grow old twice but the reward was worth the risk in my humble opinion because of the fact she was a legend in Qrow's eyes.
Maria Calavera, also known as The Grimm Reaper, is a famous former Huntress and was once a Silver-Eyed Warrior before the loss of her eyes.
In her youth, Maria displayed a cocky sort of daring and recklessness in her fight against the Grimm as seen when she fearlessly leaped on top of a giant Nevermore and rode it all the way down while she was trying to kill it.
According to Maria, when she was first starting out as a Huntsman she often used a flashy style of combat and in her own words admitted that she was prone to showing off. A habit which she now greatly regrets as she believes her father would've been disappointed in her behavior.
Heh.
Over cockiness can get you killed that way and a massive ego to boot.
Her growing reputation as 'The Grimm Reaper' may have also gone to her head as when she was confronted by Tock, she questioned if the mercenary leader realized who she was suggesting that she had begun to believe herself untouchable.
That cockiness and presumptuousness would go on to cost her greatly in her fight with Tock resulting in the loss of her eyes but at the results though did make her wiser in the years following with the loss of her eyes.
Something I can personally learn greatly from this version of Maria becoming wiser and more experienced in a fight.
In the present day, Maria has become older and smarter, and more experienced, this, combined with her Semblance Preflexes, which allows her to predict when something is going to happen before it does, makes her a far more formidable foe than she was in her youth and she's no longer willing to take any unnecessary chances in her fights.
Glancing at my Ult. Sword and summoning up Asura I sighed as I tried to rebuild the sword of Asura by heart or soul to have the same engravings of Alchemic Runes of Thunder Alchemy as a thought occurred to me.
"Hey Spirits can you be infused with Asura?"
Hearing my plea the spirits in my bracelet came out as they examined my Asura sword as circled around it till Ake spoke, "Hmm… it's certainly possible master. In fact, all of us can since we all felt the awakening within your soul also affected us."
Also affected them when – oh the rainbow color.
So that's what was happening with the rainbow color came from the Spirits.
By awakening my Aura the spirits also received an awakening themselves since by our contract they are bonded to my Soul by ancient contracts.
Oh, shoot.
Getting concerned for them I began to ask them if they were alright in a worried tone, "Oh shoot… are Ia, Kua, Alo, In, Nes, and you alright from the awakening like that?"
All the balls of small light began to nod signifying that they are alright as I breathed a sigh of relief knowing my spirits are relatively safe.
Next, I asked them if they received a boost or a Semblance for them to have awakened like animals, Faunus, and Humans have in this world?
According to them, it was a yes but no at the same time.
The reason so is that they certainly felt empowered by the awakening of my Soul but gaining new abilities was a big no to them as they already awaken their natural abilities without the need to have their auras awaken as they are balls of Mana or Spirit Energy.
Makes sense I guess…?
But it did increase the speeding process of them leveling up into a true spirit soon enough.
Now that was something I can get behind.
Returning to the topic of them entering the sword one of the spirits Alo volunteered as she spoke, "Hmm… I volunteer to enter the sword! I want to see Master smile more often than worry about his life."
"Ah… thanks, Alo."
Really these spirits are such sweethearts to really concern my own wellbeing like that.
Agreeing the green ball Alo slowly twirled around Asura as she entered inside the blade –
Oh…
So that's how it works huh?
When Alo entered Asura the sword itself began to emit winds surrounding it till it was finally controlled not by me mind you but Alo herself as I asked, "Alo is everything ok inside the Asura? No issues?"
Waiting for a response I got one through our telepathy by our contract as she spoke, 'I'm ok Master. It's quite cozy here actually. I can add my Wind Element in the blade, sir.'
Now that's certainly interesting to learn that Asura can be added with elemental attacks maybe I should try adding all of them inside the blade in the future.
Alo then released out of Asura as the spirits danced around for a bit admiring the ship cabin room as they enjoyed their time being in the outside world.
Desummoning Asura I began to lay down on the bed as I began to think things through a bit about what I should do next after fucking over the Spiders in Vale.
Maybe start sitting up some popular shows and entertainment industry with my own world source to make it interesting.
…
Yeah, I could go that route once I land in Vale and at the same time get started on working on magic artifacts and selling it to the population but knowing Vale though Ozpin would want to keep this shut.
Actually…
Asking one of the nearby spirits I have I began to ask another question to them, "Say… Nes… is it possible for the people of Remnant to be Spirit Users using you guys as mediums to gather Mana in the air and convert it into the Re: Zero Magic System?"
At the idea Nes gave it some thought as did the other spirits as then, Ake spoke out the possibility, "Hmm… well… it's not unheard of and after sampling your Aura it's possible. In fact, it's more than likely as Aura and Mana are so… similar? How odd I thought the Twin Brothers got rid of them?"
Ah…
So we're back to Aura and Mana being similar.
Makes sense to a degree.
Then again there was something about the aura being related to the maidens, wasn't it?
Guess I got to ask if it's possible or not first.
For certainly of course as it might be possible to bring magic into this world for my allies.
And who knows maybe use this method to make the Faunus stronger than humans because of the fact they have Magic and Spirits while Humanity has technology on their side.
Sounds balanced enough but first I have to ask is it possible or not if Spirits would like to make contracts with mortals just an idea.
