Caroline Forbes and Hayley Marshall met with a teenage witch outside the Jardin Gris. She asked them to accompany her to a café.
"Can I get you something?" the waitress came up to them as they got seated.
"A coffee." Caroline told her.
"A latte…" The teenage girl told the waitress.
Hayley waved her hand impatiently.
"This is the spell." Hayley had stolen it from Mikaelson Grimoire. She passed it over to the girl. "So, Davina…"
She told her.
"What am I going to get with it?" Davina pouted.
"I …." Hayley had nothing to offer.
"Six pages from a famous Grimiore." Caroline told her. "Deal?"
She asked Davina.
"Deal?" Caroline looked at her.
"Deal!" Davina smiled. "But which Grimoire?"
"The Bennett Grimoire?" Caroline looked her straight in the eye. "Is that good?"
"Good?" Davina lit up. "That's amazing!"
"Great.." Hayley smiled,
"But...It'll take a few days." Caroline interrupted. "I'll go back to Mystic Falls in a few days, and I will get you what you need….Just give Hayley her family back."
"Why?" Davina looked at her. "Then no deal…." She started to stand up to leave.
"You have my word, Davina." Caroline told her, "I will return with the pages."
"I need some proof." Davina pouted. She knew better to just take the word from a stranger. She had learned that the hard way.
Caroline took out a knife from her pocket, and slashed her wrist. She let her blood drop on a tissue.
"If I don't come back to you in a week's time." She told Davina. "Trace me down and kill me. I won't resist, I promise.!!"
"What?" She was shocked.
So was Hayley. Their silence was killing Caroline. What more could Davina Claire want?
"I just gave you license to kill me, woman!" Caroline exclaimed, "What more security do you want?"
Davina took the tissue, she shook her hands with Caroline. She took her latte cup and left.
"What are you doing, Caroline!?" Hayley looked at Caroline. "If you don't come back, she will kill you."
"No, she won't." Caroline smiled, "Because I will come back."
"Why would you do this for me?" Hayley asked.
"We can be friends, can't we?" Caroline smiled, "Anyways...It's for a good cause, right?!"
She shrugged. Hayley smiled, she understood why and how Caroline made friends so easily. She was trusting, she saw good in everyone. She believed in Hayley...whom she barely knew.
If she was being honest, she had been jealous of Caroline's ability to impress and attract everyone towards her enchanting personality. She trusted Davina Claire, someone she just met.
"I am going to go home." She told Hayley, "And I will come back with the spells in two or three days."
Hayley nodded. Caroline took out some money and threw it on the table.
"Well, come on now!" She looked at Hayley who was still sitting at the table.
Caroline was in her room, standing on the terrace. She loved this spot of the house.
"I am going back home." Caroline told Klaus.
"Why?" Klaus stood next to her, holding a drink. "You just came here!"
"I have something to do." She told him. "Plus, I can't live here all my life!"
"You can." Klaus told her. "And you should."
"My friends are there!" Caroline told him. "They are like my family.."
"I can be your family!"
Caroline laughed. Klaus didn't. She thought he was joking, he wasn't.
"It wasn't a joke, Caroline." He told her, "Stay here."
She looked at him. He was serious.
"I can't." She told him. "I really have to go tomorrow."
He took her hands, putting down the coffee mug on the ground.
"Look at me, love!" His eyes pierced into hers, "Don't go, stay here…..In New Orleans. Make this your home, make this your family!"
"Klaus…" She sighed. "Please…."
She tried to say. Klaus Mikaelson kissed her. Her eyes were closed, she pulled away.
"Klaus.."
He held her waist.
"I love you, Caroline." He whispered,
She smiled.
"Bonnie is getting married," She told him, "I have to go….And I did promise someone something from back home."
She smiled. She kept Hayley's secret to herself.
"You made friends already?" He wasn't surprised. Caroline's personality attracted everyone.
"It's not like I am going forever!" She told him. "I'll come back if you want."
"No…" Klaus said softly, "I need you here always and forever, Caroline."
"I'll come back...soon." Caroline told him.
"Promise me, Caroline." He said, "That you will come back. Promise me!"
"Okay, okay...I promise!" She told him, she took the glass from his hands, "And I think you have had enough!"
He grinned.
"I love you, Caroline." He repeated.
"Too soon, Klaus." She told him.
"I'll wait…" He took her hand and kissed it softly, "As long as I have to."
She smiled. He held her closely. Her head leaned on his shoulder.
Klaus Mikaelson felt the level of trust. He felt she trusted him.
This was the first time he knew that she trusted him.
Caroline returned to Mystic Falls in nine days. She was going to take over all the wedding plans and duties from Bonnie.
But she frequently started to visit Mystic Falls, and Damon Salvatore couldn't stop teasing her about it.
She was moving back and forth from New Orleans to Mystic Falls, from Mystic Falls to New Orleans. She was extremely excited for Bonnie's wedding. But on the other hand she wanted all of it to be over so she could go to New Orleans. She was starting to miss it all.
The City.
The Lights.
The Mikaelson Compound.
The Family.
The Friends she had made. Hayley and Rebekah.
And, of course, Klaus Mikaelson.
