"So, what would you do?" Damon Salvatore came inside, who had heard the whole conversation from behind the doors.
"I don't know…" Stefan fell back. "Run, I guess."
"We run!" Katherine nodded softly, "I have some experience with that!"
She mocked.
"It won't help!" Damon sat down, "Even if you do run, you can't outrun vampires. You would need an ample amount of vervain with you….As humans, we are weak."
"So, we stay here, and let the blonde one do all the dirty work!" Katherine snapped,
"I can't!" Caroline said, "Thousands of vampires, stronger and older…..I just have a few years on me."
Stefan nodded,
"She's right!" He said, "She can't do it…..not alone!"
"Then, turn some people!"
"Hello!" Caroline almost yelled, "They are going to remember everything after they turn."
She stood up.
"It's not like she is an original!" Damon pointed out.
Caroline was staring out the window.
"An original!" She turned around, her face was lit. She smiled, "That's it!"
"What?" Stefan and Katherine asked together.
"You are not going to like this." Caroline sat back down, "But the only way I see, is if you send him away."
"No…"
"Think about it logically, Stefan!" She said exasperatedly. "The only person in the world who can protect Zach is Klaus."
"And why the hell would Klaus protect Katherine's son?" Damon asked.
Katherine nodded. They had so much enmity between them.
"Not if Caroline asks him!" Stefan pointed out.
"And we introduce him as Stefan Salvatore's son."
Caroline told them. They were quiet for a moment.
"So, should I?" Caroline asked.
"I am not safe with him going to Klaus without anyone." Stefan told her,
"He won't be alone, I will be there!" She told Stefan.
"You are going to New Orleans?" Damon and Stefan asked together.
"I am moving to New Orleans."
"WHAT?"
"Klaus asked me."
"And you said yes?"
"I said yes!" Caroline smiled.
"Why?"
"It's my home."
"Your home?" Damon made a weird face. "What the hell, blondie!?" Damon said,
"With Zach."
She told them.
"Are you sure you can do this!?" Stefan asked. "Move to New Orleans, for Zach?"
"Yes..I was going to go, visit...anyways!" Caroline told them. "And I am pretty sure Klaus would have convinced me to stay! Rebekah's right, he could talk his way out of hell if he had to."
"But you have to be careful…..Compel everyone who knows about Zach."
She told them.
"If you have to pull this off, everyone has to know that Zach is no more."
She told them.
She thought she heard a weird noise, but she dismissed it as her imagination.
"We can't do that!" Katherine didn't even finish her sentence.
The window broke, four vampires entered the room, Caroline jumped up. Stefan picked up Zach and moved back.
"What the hell?"
Damon Salvatore disappeared upstairs, the men moved towards Katherine and Stefan.
Caroline broke the table's leg and jammed it in one of the vampires. Breaking one's neck. She ripped the heart out of the other vampire. Caroline was tackled by the last vampire, he held her by the throat, when Damon returned with a crossbow, and shot him. He turned blue.
"Thanks." Caroline massaged her throat. "See, I told you, I can't do it by myself!"
She waited for a second.
"So, should I call Klaus?" She asked.
"Someone's impatient!" Damon snickered.
"Shut up!" Caroline told him.
"Yes…" Stefan smiled. "Call him."
"And no one but you two will remember him!" She told them, "Vervain, drink it everyday. Wear it….Hands, necks, rings...all of it."
She was paranoid.
Stefan stood by her, holding her shoulders.
"Easy, Caroline!" Stefan told her, "We don't need that much vervain."
"Really? Caroline looked at him.
She pulled the collar down. Her neck was scorched.
"You wear vervain?" Stefan was surprised.
"Wear, drink, eat." Caroline shook her head, "Does it matter?"
"Why?" Damon asked, "Does Klaus compel you?"
"No!" Caroline jumped, "I have been drinking it since the werewolves attacked me."
"Caroline, that was eight years ago." Stefan reminded her.
"I know." Caroline replied, "And I don't want it to happen again. They can't hurt me anymore. Not with vervain."
Damon looked impressed.
"She is crazy!" Katherine said, "Do you take Wolf's bane too….So if a wolf attacks you?"
She snorted. Katherine meant it as a joke.
"What's so funny about that?" Caroline asked her. "One shot of wolf's bane and one shot of vervain with every meal."
Stefan smiled, Katherine looked surprised, and Damon shook his head.
Typical Carolinish behavior….
"So, should I call Klaus or not?" Caroline asked.
"I don't know…" Stefan scratched his face.
"Do you want this to happen again?" Caroline pointed to the bodies which still lay on the ground.
"I don't think but…."
"CALL HIM!" Katherine shouted, she hated asking help from Klaus, but she needed help. Klaus Mikaelson was the last person Katherine wanted her son to go to but she knew Caroline was right. The safest place for him would be The Mikaelson Compound. If someone could keep him safe, it was Klaus Mikaelson.
She took out her phone, and called Klaus.
Everyone looked at her, surprised at her shouts.
"Please…."
Caroline took out her phone, and dialed a number she now had memorized. Not by choice, she had seen it so many times on her screen. That she couldn't forget it.
"Hello, Klaus!"
Damon made weird faces in front of her, she picked up a pillow and threw it at him.
"Hello, Love." He smiled, "You calling for a change feels good!"
She laughed.
"I am coming to New Orleans."
"I am waiting for you, Caroline," He told her, "Like always,"
She smiled.
"When?" He demanded.
"Tomorrow." She told him, "I am taking the car tonight, I'll be there in the morning."
He smiled.
"I'll be waiting, Caroline!"
"Hey, Klaus…" She bit her lip, she was nervous. "Can I bring someone?"
"I am afraid I have never agreed with your boyfriends, love!" He smirked.
She laughed.
"Get to the point, Blondie!" Damon mouthed.
Caroline shot him an angry look. "Shut up.' She mouthed back.
"Not a guy….A baby." She said softly.
"A baby?" Klaus was confused. "Who's?"
"Stefan's…I'll explain later!" Caroline said quickly. "Can I bring the baby?"
