"I will fix it." I said to Valerie when I followed her gaze. She was staring at the door I had just broken. I felt mad at myself but she still smiled at me.

"No, you don't have to. I have to leave this house, if not tonight, then early tomorrow morning." She shook her head as she looked around the room with a disturbed expression on her face.

Her tone and utterance made me madder at myself for my incapacity. Thinking about what she had said again about staying dead for four months, I couldn't help but feel agitated about her safety. What had that Prince requested of her? What was his purpose?

"Why did you have to leave? Did the Prince threaten you to disappear? Is that why you have to stay dead for four months?" I asked and she gulped. Her gorgeous eyes stared at mine, and she only looked at me without saying a word.
