Chapter 2

"For the past month or so, a crazy killer has been on the loose with the crazy idea of capturing and killing hunters of the great guilds."

Hearing Jinhyuk's explanation, the Sunbae laughed helplessly.

"Are you saying that those bastards can't catch a single killer?"

"Yes, that's RIGHT."

When asked if the criminal has been caught, they apologize in a polite voice, but in reality they just don't want him to be caught.

The existence of a "murderer" was just an excuse to trample on their opponents.

These people have no intention of catching the criminal.

It is foolish to think that they could be beaten and killed by a simple, weak and idiotic murderer.

They seem convinced that they are unbeatable.

"The more I hear about them, the crazier they seem to me."

"Me too."

If he had known that he would get into this situation as a hunter, he would have chosen a different path.

Kang JInhyuk had dreamed of succeeding as a hunter, but he had been in the same miserable place for three years.

Normally, a person who suffers so much would experience some kind of reward.

Why doesn't the sun shine in his life?

When does he have to wait for an opportunity?

While having such thoughts, Kang Jinhyuk heard a scream in his ear.

It was not the cry of a single person, but of a whole series of different cries.

The Sunbae also heard it as he saw visible excitement on his face.

"Hey, the concert doesn't start for a few hours, right?"

"What do you mean?"

The screams didn't sound like screams of joy.

They sounded like cries for help out of fear.

Usually you hear that kind of screaming when there's a terrorist attack or when a monster appears. Either one or the other.

Either way, it was a great opportunity for Kang Jinhyuk.

"Finally!"

It happened at the place where he worked part-time.

An incident that happened when most people were either asleep or not on their game.

Isn't it true that heroes are born in times of crisis?

Kang Jinhyuk felt that his chance had come.

He took out the aluminum bat from the worn inventory he carries for such cases.

"Sunbae, run away."

"What's the matter with you? Don't tell me you're going over there."

"Of course I'm going."

"Alone?"

"It's easier to make money if I'm alone.

Even if other hunters come to the area, they would only compete with each other.

That's why it's better to go hunting alone.

"Do you want me to help you? I've been training lately and I'm confident I've gained some strength."

Kang Jinhyuk scoffed at his sunbae's words.

"You know that monsters can only be caught by hunters, right?"

This was not a question of strength.

There is a special wavelength that surrounds monsters, so civilian attacks and even attacks with conventional weapons don't work on them.

Only fighters have the properties to penetrate that wavelength.

"Please evacuate the area and don't do anything stupid."

Kang Jinhyuk ran without hesitation in the direction from which the screams came.

As expected, they were monsters attacking people. He smiled unconsciously.

With this large number of monsters, he would be able to live comfortably for at least a year without worrying about money, and even if he caught small ones of those bastards.

"Okay!"

Kang Jinhyuk charged forward with momentum, but a certain man placed himself in front of him before he could even reach the monsters.

Jinhyuk knew that the man was the president of the company that had hired him and stopped.

Jinhyuk didn't understand why the president was trying to block him.

"What are you doing right now?"

"Can't you tell? I'm blocking you so you can't leave."

"Yes, but why are you doing that?"

Jinhyuk, thinking about why the president would do such a thing, thought that the president just wanted to prevent civilians from entering the scene.

So he took out his wallet and showed his hunter certificate.

"I'm a hunter, so I have the ability to catch these things. Please get out of the way."

"Just because you're a hunter, I'm not going to let you in there. That area already belongs to someone."

"An owner?"

"Yes. All the monsters that spawn here belong to the 'Titans'."

Jinhyuk

thought that was ridiculous.

He was aware that many companies signed contracts with large guilds.

Who would have thought that their influence would reach so far.

Jinhyuk realized that the monopoly position of the guilds was getting worse by the day.

"I've already contacted the Titans. Just go back to that side job you were working on."

"What nonsense! I got here earlier than everyone else!"

"Don't be so stubborn and just go. Have you forgotten what kind of guild the Titans are? It's one of the top five in Korea!"

"So what! Get out of my way now!"

His values were set when he became a hunter.

He even went to the hunters' guild to get his certificate.

He is well prepared and qualified to hunt monsters.

Even if he lacked some things, he had to at least try.

Kang Jinhyuk slid to the side of the president who blocked his way.
