Chapter 37

Naturally after splitting the group apart for the day Bredret, Celeste, and Zoe headed straight into the inn. The girl's naturally headed straight to the room to rest, or at least that was what Bredret was told. He knew his beloved had no reason for sleeping since she was a spirit, but he did not question her. If she wanted to claim to sleep so that she could enjoy time with another living mortal then that was something that he would naturally not seek to ruin for her.

To refrain from getting in Celeste's time with Zoe he remained downstairs on the first floor where he could simply relax with a cold beer in his hands. The glass felt rather nice against his warm hand in his human form. It was something that he rather enjoyed about humanity. Relaxing with the liquor of mortals was something that he had long since grown accustomed to.

His time in peace was quickly shortened, however, as he did not get enough time to even finish his second glass when it had come to him. A heavy presence had quickly descended upon the room as a man entered the room. With his yellow eyes scanning the room the a rumbling growl sounded from the man's throat. Bredret could tell at first glance what the man was and knew instantly that the man was not a local from Dradel as he was approached.

"What are you doing on my turf, dragon?" The man questioned him with a deep growl in his voice that was similar to that of a canine.

"Me? Your turf? Mutt, I think you're on the wrong side of Validore to be claiming such a thing!" Bredret released a bellowing growl from his throat that made the whole room shudder and shake.

The man that had approached Bredret shivered in fear, but did not back down. He was not the type to surrender to anyone when he staked a claim on a terrain. The town they were in was his and he was not going to give it up to an outsider. When he entered the building he had smelt the scent of a canine from the outside and presumed Bredret to be that of a lycan like him, but now he felt he had made an error in jumping to conclusions upon the scent he smelt in the air.

"What.. What are you?" The man growled deeply as his eyes glowed and a tail started to escape from his backside. A pair of ears formed on top of his head as his fingernails quickly formed into that of sharp claws.

"What am I? Mutt, your kind has taken to a part of Validore that does not belong to me and yet you accuse me of not belonging in this place? Do you forget who's territory lives in peace beside Dradel kingdom?!" Bredret's tone made the lycan shudder again.

As the wolf realized he was shaking he forced his body to calm down. A loud growl escaping his throat as he lunged forward at Bredret. The dragon simply reached out his hand and grasped the lycan by the throat firmly and threw him to the side.

"CRASH!" "BAM!"

The lycan smashed against a table causing the table to break and collapse under his body when he landed. All the glasses and plates on the table shatter against the ground as glass scattered everywhere. Grumbling and growling as fierce and powerful as thunder was filling up the room to the brim as people scattered to run out of every exit they could get a hold of. Many of them were scared of the lycan that had appeared, while a portion of them was in fear of the man that single handed threw a lycan across the room by himself with little effort.

It did not take long for the people to flood the streets in fear. The word of the brawl among the inn flooded the streets and quickly spread among the people.

"I was hoping to get a nap in..." the dragon sighed heavily as he knew his time for sleep had passed because of the lycan in front of him. Thinking to that point it made him want to snap the lycan's neck for ruining his mood.

"D..dragon?!" The lycan stumbled on his words as he struggled to stand himself back up on his feet. He kept his claws extended to the sides as he glared at Bredret.

"Yes.. right... very well, mutt... Time for you to die!" Bredret bellowed out a growl from his throat as his body flew forward at the lycan with his arm stretched out.

The lycan swiftly flung himself out of the way to dodge him. His heart was beating so loud that from a distance Bredret could literally hear the fear in the lycan's heartbeat. The lycan knew that if the man caught him it would be the death of him, but he was clearly not ready to let go of his pride as a lycan to flee from fear.

The lycan took his chance to dive across the room out of the view of the dragon. His body upon arriving behind Bredret flew forward again, this time at Bredret's backside. With his claws straightened out forward he was going to drive every nail he had into the dragons back. Thinking to this point he felt if he could aim straight for a vital organ it would mean his victory.

The lycan was so sure of himself that he had forgotten how quick and wise dragons were when it came to fighting. Bredret had long since figured out what the lycan's goal was when he dove behind him.

Shifting his body to the side to dodge the attack the lycan's body went to slide right back him. His throat getting tightly grasped by the dragon's hand again. Bredret kept his hold firm on the lycan as he raised his body high only to powerfully and swiftly slam the lycan's body down into the floor. The wooden floor shattered under the force of impact as wood scattered everywhere. Shards of the wooden floor plunged into the lycan's body all over from the force of the impact.

Blood was flowing from the body of the lycan as it shuddered from pain before finally ceasing all movement.

"I guess I should go check on Celeste..." Bredret sighed heavily as he remembered the sleep again that he was not going to get. He could already see the inn keeper staring at him with both fear of his pear and rage at all the damage he had caused because of the lycan's attempt at his life.

"Bredret! What the hell?!" Zoe shouted as she descended the stairs with Celeste. The fight that had went down was so quick that it was over before the girls could even make it downstairs to realize what was happening. When they heard the crash from the table smashing they had planned to come check on things downstairs, but they had already missed the entire fight due to Bredret's power and speed in battle.

"S..sir... Please LEAVE!" The inn keeper shouted from across the room.

"Yea, yea, we're on our way out!" The dragged huffed with annoyance as he left the inn. The two girls were tailing after him quickly.
