Prince Leo needed time to think about everything he had just heard. The last thing on his mind was to be polite when he left the room. It did not matter how the two of them took his attitude. Everything he had just heard sounded crazy. No, there was much stranger things in life then what he had heard. His problem was not with the fact that the beast claimed to be reincarnated.
When he left the room he could feel the presence of Ashley and Aoki both standing guard outside the bedroom door. Ashley was quick to notice that something was wrong with the prince. Naturally he did not care if something was bothering Prince Leo. What bothered him seeing the prince upset was that something could have gone wrong and his Master could need him.
"What happened?" Ashley quickly asked the prince while he was walking away.
Prince Leo did not turn back to look at Ashley, halting his steps in order to respond to him so that he did not worry about Vorbuk, "The two of them need time to talk alone. Do not worry needlessly."
"Do you really need that attitude with me right now?" Ashley took a step towards the prince while showing his fangs.
The prince did not feel like fighting with the vampire right now and caved instantly, "I apologize."
"What has got into you all of a sudden?" Ashley was startled by the fact that the prince was so willing to give up on the fight between the two of them. Normally the prince would not cave so quickly when the two of them bickered back and forth.
Prince Leo sighed while unsure of what to tell the vampire, it was not his secret to tell and there was no way he was going to break the wolf's trust in him, even if he was a slave to the beast, "That is a matter for me to solve myself. Do you not have better things to do?"
Ashley suddenly felt the desire to toss the prince out the nearest window. Where was the closest window?
Meanwhile inside the room,
Vorbuk shook aside his worry about the prince and how he was taking the information. No matter how much he worried it would not change a thing. He had to do something with the questions he had for the man in front of him now. That was the only thing he could do.
"What happened? Where have you been all that time?" Vorbuk started asking him questions again.
"Are you not worried about how he just rushed off like that?" Sebastian seemed to be trying to avoid answering questions.
Vorbuk released a deep growl from his throat, even if he was in his human form to talk with Sebastian he was still a beast. Growling like a beast in human form only came off more intimidating to some who witnessed a beast in human form. He hoped that Sebastian would find it just as intimidating.
Sebastian sighed as if he was exhausted and coughed into his hand, "I know you have a lot of questions."
"I do." Vorbuk said honestly.
The short response was enough to make Sebastian chuckle, "I had no choice. I had to leave at that time."
"You really knew in advance you were leaving back then-!" Vorbuk started to growl more fiercely as he heard the man admit to abandoning him.
"Not everything is simply black nor white." Sebastian interrupted him, "I had no choice at the time. I had to leave for my own reasons."
"What reason could you possibly have?!" Vorbuk pressured him for an honest reason. What reason could he possibly have for abandoning an orphan child that he was treating as if they were of the same family?
Sebastian struggled to find the words to respond, gripping the blanket that was over him tightly in the palm of his hand he forced himself to speak, "I do not wish to fight with you, Ad-"
"That is not my name anymore." Vorbuk interrupted him before he could call out that name he had long since tried to forget.
"Inv- I doubt you can so easily forget the name you went by all your life." Sebastian almost slipped up in his speech again. Managing to stop himself before he could speak as he normally did. It is exhausting trying to act differently in front of Vorbuk. That was something he definitely thought. Yet he could not stop himself from going so far for his sake.
"How long have you been here, Sebastian?" Vorbuk asked him while ignoring his opinion.
"... Long enough." Sebastian sighed as he responded.
"You think I can not tell?" Vorbuk asked him bluntly.
Sebastian gazed up at Vorbuk where he stood and asked, "What do you mean?"
"What are you hiding?" Vorbuk declared,"I have known you long enough to know that you suck at hiding the fact that your hiding something from me."
Sebastian flinched.
He was caught.
No. There were many things that he was hiding from Vorbuk. When he thought about that he only knew it made him feel more regret about everything he had done to come this far. Yet it gave him a chance that he could not deny taking. If he could not tell him everything he could still at least give up and tell him something.
Sebastian smiled weakly as he opened his mouth to say, "I am dying."
"... What?" Vorbuk froze in place.
"I knew you were in the same world right now..." Sebastian was not certain how much of what he said was truth and how much of it he did that was not, "I came to find you because I wanted to find you at least once before I died."
Vorbuk hesitated to ask, "What's wrong with you? Can the healers not help?"
Sebastian pondered what to tell him about his condition safely, "It is a mana problem with my body. The healers nor the temples can do anything to help my condition."
"What could you have done to get your mana in such a state?" Vorbuk thought out loud causing him to flinch at the beasts words.
"It is a kind of backlash from using my mana in dangerous ways." Sebastian made a simple excuse. Though it was not entirely something he could deny either.
Vorbuk turned and started to head for the door. He could only think about the condition he had just learned Sebastian was in. Instinct was telling him to call the priestess for aid on the situation. At the same time he could not bother with it. If he had already tried the temples that would mean they were useless in helping Sebastian already. He also did not want help from Vorbuk on dealing with his health.
How could he accept dying so easily? Vorbuk could not understand it.
"We will discuss things further later. For now you should get some rest." Vorbuk said to him as he began to open the door.
"Ah!" Sebastian called out for Vorbuk, "You do not need to worry about my condition. I can move around just fine."
"I'm not leaving because of you." Vorbuk said bluntly.
"Then where are you-?" Sebastian was cut off from talking.
"I have other matters to attend to. If I do not rest soon for using this form so long today I will collapse." Vorbuk growled annoyed for several reasons before storming out of the room. His mana was low and his body was becoming heavy. He had wasted a lot of it in order to talk with Sebastian during the day. It was now getting late and he had not yet rested. Exhaustion was starting to take him over but he still needed to do one more then... Where had the prince wandered off to? He could not collapse without making sure the prince was not still upset with him.
