Vorbuk found himself standing within one of Iemis's memories while gazing upon the god himself. Scenery that he had not seen before seemed to spread out before him. It was beautiful. It was also filled with gods and other heavenly ranked beings that served the gods.
What realm is this? It does not look like something from the mortal realm. Vorbuk tried to understand what he was seeing.
[ Location: Heavenly Realm ]
"The heavenly realm?" Vorbuk flinched as he tried to take in the surroundings more seriously. It was a realm that he was not certain he would see again. At least he could not be certain he would witness it in person for himself. This was merely some else's memories.
"Iemis, how have you been lately?" Chynir's voice called out from somewhere across the flower field they were standing among. From the distance the wolf could see the god approaching Iemis while calling out to him. No hostility could be seen. Instead there was a sense of familiarity and friendship in his eyes.
"Chynir," Iemis looked as if he was struggling to comprehend the companionship that was being shown to him from Chynir, but he could not deny that he enjoyed the treatment, "How many times have I warned you to not to spend too much time with the mortal realm?"
Chynir's black and red eyes seemed to divert away from Iemis as he responded, "I know I have been spending some time there lately, but-"
"Invalid!" Iemis felt worried but in the eyes of Chynir it was as if he was being denied a part of himself by being bound to the heavens, "I know you care about the mortal realm, Chynir, but you must not forget you are no longer a mortal yourself."
"The one who taught me to accept that realm was you." Chynir grit his teeth together as he refused to be kept from the mortal realm.
Iemis sighed and stepped closer to Chynir, reaching out his hand to the gods shoulder he asked, "What is holding you to that realm so badly?"
"I will not leave her behind." Chynir declared.
"Who?" Iemis seemed surprised to hear that response.
"While visiting the mortal realm on my own I met a tiger beastman. She is amazing. You would really li-" Chynir seemed to smile in a bright way that nobody would believe in the current day. He seemed really in love with the girl he had met among the mortal realm. A girl from a tiger beast tribe and a god who foolishly fell in love with her.
"Invalid. Do not be foolish, Chynir." Iemis's harsh words cut the god off from speaking further about the girl.
"You of all people should-" Chynir was getting annoyed as the anger could be seen starting to fill his eyes slowly.
"I have told you before that we do not make safe connections with mortals. You should cut ties with them immediately. I can not continue to warn you, Chynir. The other gods will not be pleased with this combination." Iemis tried to explain to him.
Iemis did not hate mortals; in fact he loved them very much. The bond between a god and mortal was simply one that could drive a god into madness. The more he saw Chynir become attached to the mortals the more he worried about the god's sanity remaining intact. The more Chynir loved a mortal it meant he could only be more deeply wounded when that connection was severed.
Iemis did not stand around talking to Chynir. After speaking his opinion harshly to the fellow god he turned to leave. Walking in direction of the heavenly palace. He could see another god spectating their conversation not far off. It made him feel uncomfortable and ponder what the god overheard. They were likely to have overheard everything clearly and that made him worry.
A voice called out to him as he passed by the spectator, "Brother Iemis."
There was something about them that made him feel uncomfortable, at times he felt as if this fellow god was a mistake to creation, "Is your new hobby spying on my conversations now?"
"You know very well that I do not need to be standing nearby to overhear a thing you say." The god's voice was calm and polite on the surface. Listening more closely the words were like sharp knives giving a warning that he could know everything without someone knowing he was aware.
"Invalid. What do you really want?" Iemis was certain that he would not call out to him without a motive. He was not someone who liked to get involved in others for no reason.
"I want a lot of things," The god seemed to pretend as though he was thinking deeply about his answer, "I agree with you about following the heavenly rules. Chynir is at risk of tainting that balance that us originals have always maintained.."
"Remain out of it. I am not asking twice." Iemis glared as he spoke with a sharp tone.
The god shook his head and took a few steps back from Iemis while saying, "I understand."
This god in front of Iemis was one that he did not get along with well. When they had first met he had hopes that this god would have become a god to be proud of. Mortals thought the best of it and the elves even tended to worship it. The god in itself was actually very different from what they worshiped it as.
The World Tree was actually very indifferent and on some levels even cruel towards humanity. Its roots were able to expand from the heavenly realm into the mortal realm giving him the advantage of spying on the two realms openly without anyone knowing.
His knowledge about the world was deep because he could watch over everything by expanding his roots throughout the two realms. These roots were not like physical plants. Made from his own mana they were nearly impossible for most to even notice. Its physical body to blend in with mortals could as morph between male or female at its own will.
Iemis did not have time to waste standing around. Turning to leave he could vaguely hear the other god behind him muttering under his breath, "I wont need to be asked twice."
Just like the god had said to himself that day as Iemis left him alone, there was no reason to ask him twice to not get involved in the case with Chynir. The reason being that the tiger girl that Chynir had fallen in love with went missing in a matter of days after Iemis had spoken with him.
Chynir was devastated over what had happened with the girl. The other gods were not willing to get involved in the matter. Many reasons were given as to why they would not get involved. In fact Iemis tried to refuse to help as well on the outside. Refusing to help Chynir because he new the situation was dangerous and causing the god to go mad. However, Iemis did not remain completely uninvolved in trying to find out what happened to that girl and the child she'd given birth to for Chynir.
