Ch 51: Seizure

I felt this wet cooling rag on my forehead. Like a butterfly, my eyes fluttered open and this blurred face of a man appeared.

"Shh, take it slow, my love." I heard this cooing voice that sounded like Kai.

Once my vision cleared I see Kai's face come into focus. He has this most loving smile yet I could read dismay hidden behind those shades. As always he wore the same dark hinted sunglasses. I swallowed a large amount of saliva down my raw throat.

"What h-happened?" I solemnly whispered in a cracky dry voice.

Instead of answering, Kai picked up this glass of ice water that has a blue straw in it from the nightstand.

"Drink this," he gently demanded. I wanted to refuse but I am parched from thirst. My throat felt sore so I took a sipped on the tip of the straw and started guzzling down the water. I ended up drinking more then I thought. Kai put the empty glass back on nightstand. His mouth showed such care and worry.

"What happened to me?" I asked again to noticed the IV in my forearm.

"You pushed yourself too far in your time gap," Kai replied seeming upset. "You caused yourself to have a grand mal seizure. You've been asleep for two days. Why did you do that?"

I swallowed my tongue as visions of what happened to Elena reappeared in my mind. Her terrifying screams echoed in my head. A teardrop slid down my eye until Kai wiped it up with his curled finger.

"I had to see who killed Elena," I grasped in a mere whisper. "I know they killed my team back in Egypt. There sick and twisted humans! They seem to act as if they're drinking the blood of their victims. It's like there from some sort of blood cult."

Kai didn't seem to have any reaction on what I said. It's like he didn't care about the people I lost around me.

"You shouldn't have done that!" Instead

Kai's teeth seemed to grind when he told me that. "You could've killed yourself by doing something so stupid!"

I didn't understand why this matter to him and ended up rudely speaking. "Because I had to know! Beside what do you know about this stupid psychic curse I have?"

Kai took a deeper breath. "I know more about it then you understand and if you push yourself to far it will kill you." He shared.

Hot scorching tears ran down my eyes.

"Why do you care?"

"Because I love you, Victoria." Kai's lip seemed to whimper when he revealed this to me but it's something I didn't care to hear. Nor do I fully believe him.

"If you love me so much then let me marry the man I truly love!" I cried in mere hysterics at him. "I wanna be with Orlando! Why can you not allow me to live my life? What you feel for me is only an possession and obsession to have me! You don't honestly love me!"

Kai remained silent as I broke down in heavy thick tears. My hands couldn't even keep up with them when I wiped each one away.

Meanwhile Kai only stared at me with an emotionless expression. Over my weeping, he took a huge inhale of air before releasing it out seemingly slower.

"Ok, Victoria," He said softly and smoothly. "I'll decline the contract and the marriage certificate between us. Just to show you how much I love you. I'll give you back to Orlando so you can be happy."

My sobbing went into a raw whimper. I was trying to caught my breath. But I was more shocked to hear Kai say this to me.

"You mean what you say?" I whimper out pouting.

"Yes, on one condition," said Kai.

"What's the condition," I asked, drying my tears with my fingers.

"I only ask that you rest today and if you feel better tomorrow. I'll return you to Orlando," Kai told me.

"You aren't lying?" I inquired to know since I wasn't sure if I could trust him.

"I am not lying," Kai claimed frowning. "There are no tricks, I only wish for you to be happy. Even if it that means you'll be happier with another man, that isn't me."

I was baffled in so many ways. As Kai carefully pulled the IV from my arm. He then tapped it up with gauze for it to stop bleeding.

Kai kissed my forehead. "Rest well, I'll be sending some maids in to feed you," he implied kindly with a hint of brokenness.

"Where are you going?" I asked when he stood up to leave for the door.

"I'm going to start processing some paperwork to cancel the contract and the marriage certificate." Kai replied and then bolted out.

I could truly tell he was heartbroken, I felt. However I didn't love Kai my heart belonged with Orlando. The kindness in my heart felt truly horrible but I'm sure he'll find someone else.

Just outside the bedroom door. Kai came face to face with Ivan, Ace, Rome, and his older brother Chester. They saw that stressed look on his face even from around his shades.

"You made the right decision, Kai," Chester touched his younger brother's shoulder.

But Kai huffed pushing him away.

"I know it hurts, Kai," Ace spoke kindly. "Letting her go it the best thing you can do."

Kai didn't wanna hear it anymore and zippers around them and vanished out of sight. All they heard was this nearby arche window opening from a different room. Chester walked into the gathering room and closed the window.

Then he turned around looking at Ace, Rome, and Ivan. "Go follow him and make sure he doesn't do anything idiotic."

Rome laughed messing around. "Not without me, he's not!" The next thing they saw was Rome all but gone as the window opened again. This time Chester didn't even bother closing it.

"While your watching Kai be sure to watch Rome." Heads turned toward doorway behind Ivan and Ace to see Mr. Collin was standing there after he spoke.

Neither Ace or Ivan replied they only leaped out the window one after another before they disappeared in a falling flight.

Now Chester shut the window again for a third time.

Then he stared at his father asking, "do you think this plan will work?"

Mr. Collin stepped lightly across the green-blue rich carpet with his hands crossing behind his back. "I think Kai is making the right call," said Mr. Collin. "At this point we are out of options when it comes to Victoria."

"This will only make it worst on her part," Chester implied.

"Perhaps," Mr. Collin acknowledged this to be a high possibility.
