Ch 78: Wait, What! This isn't an Ordinary Wedding!

"Do you Kai Collin, promise to take Victoria Perkins as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for all of eternity according to God's holy law, in the presence of God and make this vow."

Wait... What... did he say for all of eternity? Wasn't he supposed to say until death do us part!

"I do," Kai said without any hesitation and then glided this petite rose petal diamond ring on my finger. His ring surpassed the one Orlando had given me and it was more to my taste.

How ironic is that!

"Do you Victoria Perkins, promise to take Kai Collin as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for all of eternity according to God's holy law, in the presence of God and make this vow."

"Huh..." I was speechless; this wasn't your original vows for a wedding!

"It's ok, Victoria." The Pastor kindly said. "Just say I do."

"I-I..." those two words 'I do' were caught in my throat. "Umm..." I looked into Kai's eyes and he bestowed me a fond smile. "I do..."

Just like a rose petal falling off a flower. Those words fall from my tongue. As I slip the band on his finger. It felt like every step I did was involuntarily done without my full acknowledgment.

Now I breathed to mentally prepare for the kiss. That will seal my fate to this man.

"Now you may prick each other's fingers to bind your blood together," said the Pastor.

"Wait... What...!" I blared out vehemently by mistake. Making my voice amplify throughout the entire room but everyone remained quiet. Like this wasn't anything new to them.

That's it! They're all crazy!

I withdrew away to flee but Kai snatched my wrist before I could get out of here! My heart was on full throttle!

"It will be alright, my love..." Kai's voice feathered, smoother than a cooling misty ocean breeze.

My heartbeat steadied back into a normal rhythm. While he reached into his pocket pulling out what looked like an ancient medallion Gothic-looking pocket watch. Till he clicked the top and this needle flicked out on the bottom of it. Oh, my gosh! What is going on here! This isn't an ordinary wedding!

I panicked and attempted to pull away but I couldn't since Kai held my wrist firmly without hurting me.

"Look at me, Victoria," He said gently.

Like a spell was cast upon me. My sight became hooked on his eyes for the moment. Till he stops looking at me. He took my pointer finger while I waited in stillness.

Upon feeling the needle pierce my flesh. My eyes jolted downward at what he was doing. He pricked his finger and then the Pastor pressed our fingertips together and rubbed our blood as one. Next, the Pastor took the disguised pocket watch and opened it up for Kai and me to fingerprint our blood aside from one another where the clock hands should be if this was a real pocket watch. So I wasn't sure what this fancy medallion was. Nor do I understand why we did this blood-binding oath.

Once that was completed he snapped it closed and handed it back to Kai. For him to slip it back into his pocket. Then the Pastor wiped our fingers clean and clogs the blood before presuming onward with this abnormal wedding.

"By the power invested in me. You may now kiss the bride," the Pastor lastly said.

I felt faint when Kai lifted the veil over the back of my head. He cupped my cheek and brought out lips together. Instant electricity sparked between us. As our mouths open to devour each other's tongues.

Thunderous applause echoed to the ceiling and bounced freely off the stained glass windows.

Kai ended the kiss with one last nibble on my lip before he finished. I had never seen him so happy when he gazed at me. He locked my elbow with him and then he walked me down the aisle. As his parents smiled hugely right on the front row bench. Tons of people threw white rose petals at us while we walked down it slowly.

"Now that wasn't so bad, my love." Kai seemed to gloat when we entered the large hall. Then he pulled out his shades from the internal pocket on his vest. He soothingly flipped open his sunglasses and gilded them on his face so coolly. All the while, I was so breathless, that I couldn't speak after what happened at the altar. My life just keeps getting stranger and stranger.

After taking wedding photos from inside the chapel and outside it in the private back courtyard. Two guards opened the chapel's front doors for us to run into an enormous crowd that knew the Collins' family on top of the paparazzi. Over a thousand flashes of pictures were being taken of us.

Guards were stationed everywhere to keep the paparazzi at bay. They made sure to keep a clear pathway for us to walk. As the pictures never ease once.

I'm starting to wish I had my own shades from already taking tons of professional wedding photos. Now I have to unwillingly take more! Surely this will be all over the headlines by tomorrow! And Orlando will learn about it!

More rose petals were tossed in the air at us by people. Kai stopped for a second to kiss me around the crowds as people cheered happily and pictures flashed continuously to capture the kiss. Luckily, he was fairly fast about kissing me and we continued walking to reach the limo for a man to hold the door open for us to get it in. He shut the door and the driver took off.

From there we stood up from the sun visor and waved at the crowd that gathered to celebrate the wedding. Even driving down streets crowds collected like we were Royalty.

"I didn't think the wedding would draw this much attention," I said to Kai who wasn't thrilled to wave at the crowds.

"Unfortunately, my family's business goes way back," Kai replied, seeming disgusted. "This wedding is a big ordeal to the public but once everyone arrives at reception we will head there."

"I can see why you like your private life," I told him.

"Mhmm, indeed," Kai said.

I've learned fairly quickly that he wasn't a fan of outsiders. I knew this part of the wedding was getting on his nerves. But he didn't seem to let it spoil his gleaming mood. Sure he was gleeful, he just got his way by marrying me.
