Upon hearing what had happened, Kai and his friends were here in no time. Kai cradled me up in his arms and kissed my hair over and over again. As I quivered against his muscular body.
"It's alright, I'm here," Kai gently whispered before he kissed my forehead passionately.
As I peeked over at Ben and Ms. Thorn, gave me a small smile inside Mr. Collin's office. I think now Ben saw Kai was gentle with me. At least when he wanted to be loving. It's taken him a lot of time to learn how to be affectionate with me.
"I'm going to take you home," Kai whispered. "Then I have to go somewhere after I get you settled."
"Where are you going?" I asked as he wiped away a few straying teardrops rolling down my cheeks.
"Don't worry about that," Kai smiled softly. "I need to help Jack out with something."

Two days passed and it was now the last week of July. Kai had been busy these past two days with work. While I stayed behind at the mansion. Instead of working from the office, Mr. Collin has been working from home with me. Together he and I were in his study sorting papers.
"Victoria, would you mind going into my office and grabbing my laptop? It's inside the desk drawer on the right," he kindly asked me.
"Not a problem," I said and went across the corridor once I left the room. I entered the office room. This was the first room I met the Collin family in after Kai bailed me from Egypt. After taking in that memory, I went around the desk and opened the right drawer.
"Uh," I was shocked to find this old diary on top of his laptop. I picked it up and instantly my memory triggered. It's the same diary I was given in Egypt. Interestingly enough the book was a short story about vampires.
I open it up and read the first page. 'Hello, my dear friend.
Unfortunately, I can't give away my name because I've had one too many throughout the timeline. I know this may sound far-fetched but I am here to say this diary is about our Kind known as vampires.'
It was like a forgotten memory coming back to me. I took the book and the laptop and went back to the study and saw Mr. Collin was still sorting papers.
"I didn't know you were the one who gave me this book back in Egypt," I said, setting everything down on the table.
"I had Duncan deliver it there for you on a day he checked in with all the team leaders about their progress," Mr. Collin smiled. "I thought you would like that book to read."
"I did enjoy it," I shared. "It sounded so real because of how the words were spoken so deep. It made you believe vampires existed."
"Oh," Mr. Collin raised a brow with a particular smile.
"I know vampires aren't real," I giggled. "I'm just a fan of vampires."
"I suppose you would think it would be pretty intriguing if they were real?" Mr. Collin asked me, smiling.
"It's likely," I giggled. "At the same, I'd probably be scared since vampires only wanna drink your blood."
Mr. Collin and I laughed together as a voice rolled in. "What's so funny?"
I swerved my heel to see Kai was home. Instantly, I gave him a big hug and kissed his lips. He's seemed so stressed lately since Sharlene and Jack slept with each other from getting way too drunk. And I wasn't sure why Kai blamed himself for what happened.
"What's that?" Before I could answer why we were laughing. Kai points to the old book on the table. As Mr. Collin's eyes steered up at his son when he opened the book. A dark shade seemed to cloak Kai's complexion.
"Your father gave me that book when I was in Egypt," I said softly as Kai carelessly shut the book and slammed it down on the table. His glowering eyes locked on his dad.
"I'm going to get a shower," Kai irritatedly said and then he left the room with a sour attitude.
"What was that about?" I asked Mr. Collin.
Mr. Collin replies, "I think he's just tired from a long day."

The next day was bright and sunny. Kai and I spent some time together. Then he and his friends took a walk in the deep woods hours ago. An hour ago Coraline asked me to play hide and seek with her and her mother Zoey.
"I found you!" I playfully shouted to find Coraline behind a tree hiding.
She giggled and leaped into my arms. "Let's play again!"
"Oh, honey, we should probably head in and get ready for dinner," Zoey tiredly said to her daughter but Coraline was full of energy.
"Can we play ball?" Coraline asked, giving a boo-boo lip.
"I can play with her before dinner is done," I offered since I saw Zoey was drained.
"Ok," Zoey giggled and retired to head inside.
Coraline got her ball and we tossed it back and forth. Till out of nowhere a heavy breeze blew in. Dark puffy black clouds started rolling in above our heads. I toss the ball to Coraline but the wind blows it past her tiny fingertips. This storm came in so suddenly.
"It's time to head in!" Zoey hurries outside and shouts over the turbulent wind.
"But my ball!" Coraline cried when I picked her up in my arms. This wind blew so violently that our hair tangled in our faces.
"I'll get her ball," I loudly said, handing her to Zoey.
"Will get it once the storm passes," Zoey said loudly as she turned to head in.
"My ball!" Coraline cried.
"I'll get it," I shouted and turned back around but the wind was so loud I wasn't sure if Zoey heard me.
Thunder started to rumble in the sky. Lightning strikes as the clouds clashed together. I ran out into the open yard and saw her pink princess ball rolling towards the deep woods. So I ran faster as the wind knocked into my body. My feet tripped over each other and I fell into the grassy blades. Still, the wind mashed me but I stood back up. And went after that ball. Unfortunately, the wind rolled it right into the woods.
Between the thrashing and bending trees, I walked in the murky dim forest. Above my head, the trees creaked and the leaves wrestled the harsh wind. A whistle echoed within the forest. Making everything sound and appear spookier.
"Kai!" I shouted since I knew he went in here and hadn't come back.
