Ch 199: Blind to Human Eyes

After taking one day to rest. Friday, I was back at College today. Although Mia had to drive because Kai has yet to buy me a new car. Which was fine and all. Only I wasn't anticipating that Mia would tag along with me to every class. If anybody mentioned something about Mia following me. She told them she was my assistant that worked for my husband and me. Since Kai is a Collin, none of my professors questioned anything further.

"Do you need a new pen?" Mia whispered when she noticed I was shaking my pen to write down this measurement the professor wrote on his whiteboard.

"Yeah, I need to buy new pens," I mumbled and took her pen.

She kinda giggled as I noticed Billy was taking an interest in Mia. He kept turning around and beaming at her. Yet it didn't help that she'd return a flirty smile too.

"That's it for today. See you all next week," Professor ended his class.

I jotted down the last morsel of notes and then started getting my stuff together.

"Are you ready to go?" Mia sweetly asked.

"Yup, I need to head to the campus store," I said getting up.

We began walking down the steps when Billy stopped to wait for us near the door.

"Do you care if I tag along with you ladies?" He asked, beaming at Mia.

"If you want to," I said vaguely and hoped he'd take the hint to quit.

Mia was married. So I wasn't sure why she was egging him.

"Are you feeling alright, Victoria?" Billy raised this puzzling brow since he detected my tone.

"She's fine, it's been a rough week," Mia answered for me with this flirty giggle.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Victoria." Billy nicely asked. "Do you wanna talk about it?"

I lightened my sour attitude and smiled. "No, it's exclusively been a hectic week is all."

Goodness, it was either my pregnancy hormones or Kai's grumpy mood that was rubbing off on me.

After I bought some new pens and whatever else I felt I needed for class. Mia, Billy, and I took a seat at this picnic table.

"So ya, Mia, I was wondering if you don't have anything going on tonight. Would you wanna go out dancing?" Billy asked her out on a date.

She chuckled and I did my best to hold my tongue. But I don't think I had to for long because I saw Ivan stroll towards us from the crowds.

Seeing her husband Mia's eyes brighten more lively than ever. And that smile she had on her face grew like a freshly ripe strawberry. Unquestionably her heart was fluttering inside the core of her chest by only seeing Ivan, further behind Billy.

Yet I felt an awkward tension heat the back of my head to look at Billy, who likely thought she was gaily for him.

"So is that a yes?" Billy asked again since Mia was lovestruck with her husband, who surprisingly started talking to a different group of people.

"Hmm, it sounds tempting," Mia flirted and I was stunned by what she said. I assumed she'd turn him down but she didn't. Not able to stop my expression, I was sure to give her that 'are you serious kinda look.'

"Are you sure there isn't something wrong, Victoria?" Once again Billy asked me to notice that glare. I solely directed at Mia.

Again she only giggled on my behalf. "As I said, it's been a crazy week," Mia repeated what she already said.

Billy smiled when my eyes gape to see, not only Ivan was right there but Ace and Rome were there too. In one blink, they were inches behind Billy and nobody, not even me noticed they got here that quickly. Humans are that blind!

"Anyways, Mia, is that a yes for tonight?" Billy asked flirting and my eyes broadened because he hadn't noticed what was lurking inches away.

"Perhaps maybe because it sounds fun," Mia flirts right in front of Ivan. And Ivan only grinned and seemed unbothered by it.

With a gleaming chipper, Billy said, "I think so too." Then his delighted smile faded once he saw my distressed expression. "Are you sure you don't wanna talk about anything, Victoria?" He asked.

"She's good, it's only stress, mostly." Ace unexpectedly answered him. Billy turned around and now noticed they were there.

"Billy, this is Ace, Rome, and Ivan, my husband. They work for Victoria's husband," Mia introduced excitedly and Ivan cycled to her. They kissed after he sat by her and I saw Billy's complexion turn sheepish.

"Oh, I didn't realize you were married," Billy said awkwardly but he tried keeping his cool like he didn't just ask Mia out.

"We've been married for some time," Ivan said, smiling.

"Billy here was just asking if I was busy tonight. Do you know what's going on?" Mia outright asked which made me and Billy surprised.

"Oh, I only meant as friends," Billy clarified, nervously.

"It's cool, man," Ivan coolly replied. "Most of us are going dancing at this club. If you wanna tag along you are more than welcome too."

"Ya, cool. I'll text Victoria and let you guys know. Anyways, I gotta head to my next class. Nice meeting ya." Billy played it smoothly and retired far from us as everyone waved goodbye. Which was the best call he could make for himself.

"Nice friend you ladies have there," Ace chuckled.

"He was affable but it's time for our next class," Mia announced but I was rather surprised that Ivan wasn't mad because she was flirting with another guy. She gave Ivan a goodbye kiss and we wandered off.

"I'm surprised, Ivan wasn't jealous about you flirting with Billy," I stated when I looked back and saw they were gone that fast again. How has nobody, including me, not caught onto this already?

"That's the thing about destined mates. We know we belong together. There isn't anything to be envious of. Keep in mind, flirting is how we hunt," Mia softly said and my eyes expanded.

I merely whisper to evade anybody from overhearing me. "Please don't eat Billy."

Mia giggled, "it's a no-hunt policy here. I was only flirting to make this point to you. So you and Kai can have a better relationship."

"It's unlikely to happen," I bitterly retort and then opened the door to the building I needed to go into for my next class. Fairly audible, I heard Mia exhale a discouraged breath at my tenacious reply.
