*Ch 244: Meeting Kai's Alpha friends

Mrs. Collin acted the part well by keeping Emily and Dwight from knowing the truth that my babies are immortal. Let alone they still don't have a clue, I am carrying triplets.

However, I felt Emily and Dwight had every right to be upset with what Kai did to Crystal because I was surely upset too. And Mr. and Mrs. Collin seemed to deny Kai's faults toward them. Thankfully, they didn't press charges against Kai because I knew he'd kill them. Nevertheless, enough was enough between their vendetta. Now, I've heard and had enough of this endless conflict.

"Please, everyone stop," I said lowly but elevated my voice audibly to be heard.

"Right, Victoria, come with us." Mr. Collin stretched out his arm, and I went toward them.

"Victoria, please, you do not have to go with them," Emily's sweet voice pleaded.

"It was nice seeing you both," I frowned. "I wish you both well."

Afterward, I walked away and moved on. I might not understand what happened between Zoey, Chester, and CJ. Though it's clear there is an unfinished story there, especially whenever Zoey is Chester's mate, so it doesn't make sense because mates are fated lovers, and CJ is human. Therefore, it's puzzling. However, it's also pretty obvious, Emily has this huge resentment toward Mr. and Mrs. Collin. That too is another unresolved puzzle piece.

"We're sorry about that fight," Mrs. Collin apologetically said.

"It's ok," I muttered before we reached the lovely ballroom.

Rose, Mia, Darlene, and Ava found me. Kai's parents walked away in the crowds, leaving me with them. Hereafter, they took me straight to Kai and their husbands. We found a decent group of vampires and vampiresses hanging out on this outdoor high deck. It was unnerving to see John's sister, Samantha is standing by Kai, laughing with the large group.

"Who are they?" I asked lowly voiced.

"They're friends and allies with Kai and John," Mia replies. "We go way back. The vampires fought in many wars together, including part of the first one, but mainly in the second war."

I was surprised to hear Kai battled in both historical vampiric world wars.

Rose said, pulling me from my thoughts, "Which reminds me, tomorrow we are going to visit the Louvre Museum. There is something I need to show you."

"Oh, I've always wanted to go there," I chippered, excitedly.

Rose smiled at me before she entered outside to be with Ace. Ava went to John on the left side and Mia proceeded right, by Rose to be with Ivan. Darlene entered, but she stood back toward the covered window. As I walked in this one vampire across from Kai and Jack was talking to them about these two juveniles that were human-raised. He was saying something along the lines that he had taken them in. But the more interesting part is how he seemed certain the vampire teen was Jack's missing son. Though, I've known from the vampiresses that Kai and his friends have been helping Jack with finding his son. Aside from Jack, he told another vampire he believed the vampiress teen was his daughter. Overall, it was interesting to hear a glimpse of their conversation.

"I hope they stayed at your mansion," Jack said, and the vampire nodded before he looked at me.

Kai stretched his neck and smiled to see me behind his shoulder. Of course, he wasn't wearing his mask anymore, like his friends, but I figured that wouldn't last long. Toward Ava and John, Kai moved Samantha their way before he took my hand. Of course, she exhaled annoyed, but everyone ignored her.

That's when my body froze once I noticed further behind Rome, Rose, Ace, Ivan, Mia, and other vampires. There, laid out on the deck flooring, Sharlene, Leah, and six vampiresses were feeding quietly on a man that was a caterer.

"Is this the mate you finally found?" across from us, this vampire asked, which pulled my attention away from the man being drank alive.

"Indeed, she is," Kai replies proudly, and he snaked his arm around my waist. "Victoria, these are my friends, Levi and Mitchell. They're shapeshifters and Alphas. Mitchell turns into a bear and Levi turns into a wolf."

I was intrigued to hear both Alphas, facing us were shapeshifter vampires. This was the first time I'd met this many vampires in one day. Of course, I couldn't shake the concern, I have for Orlando and everyone else, I knew. A part of me wanted to look for them, and make sure they were ok. But the way Kai held me made that hard to do.

"It's nice to finally meet you," Levi greeted, and Mitchell welcomed me with a slight head bow.

"Congratulations, by the way," praised Mitchell. "Kai told us you're having triplets."

"Thank you," I replied shyly, and Kai kissed my neck. Realizing I was nervous, they turned their gaze elsewhere.

"Rose, I must say you look huge," Levi teased, and Rose chuckled, rubbing her pregnant balloon belly.

"I feel huge," she agreed.

"When are you due?" Mitchell asked.

"Next month," Ace happily replies.

"That's exciting," smiled Levi.

"It is exciting," Rose giggled. "I look forward to losing the extra load."

Most of us laughed at her comment, but Rome seemed to be holding his head.

"We did warn you not to feed on her," Ivan heckled him.

"But she was hot and smelled too yummy to resist," Rome justified.

"Does this have anything related to when you all left during those hours?" I asked Kai.

He chuckled, "Yes, Rome snacked on a woman who was using drugs."

"I have no regrets, Princess." Rome claimed before he passed us. "I'm getting a whiskey to ease my head."

We giggled at him, and then he left inside. At that point, Mitchell started talking about the two vamp teens he had found.

"I'm going to use the bathroom," I told Kai and slipped away before he could speak. I took this opportunity to seek Orlando. My eyes scanned through the crowds, but I didn't see him. I only found his friends, family, or his family's friends. So, I left the ballroom and went through a set of pillars, and started wandering through different rooms. I found this empty lounge that had painted framed portraits on the walls. Here, I crossed toward the opposite exit from where I came. Nearing the large framed doorway, the vampire who tried to assault me at the college, came in and blocked my pathway. Having a lecherous grin, he ogled me from head to toe. Just by his sight, he undressed me with his minacious eyeballs.
