**Ch 287: Sinkhole

Seth carelessly dropped me on a hard surface. My teeth gritted in pain when my knees smashed into the concrete. Then it suddenly stirred into my stomach. Vomit projected out before I could stop it.

"Once you're done puking, stand on your feet!" Seth barked from behind me as I was on my hands and knees while I puked my guts out.

Once the puking stopped, I swung my legs to the side, and sat on my butt to stare at him and a handful of other vampires that were with him. City noises entered my ears once the ringing inside my eardrums finally subsided.

"Where have you taken me?" I merely pant for breath.

"Springwood community." Seth curtly replied. "Now get up!"

Still, I refused to listen. I only sat here, looking around. All I saw were tall buildings, and it dawned on me, I was on top of one. A horrible feeling churned through my gut, and I knew whatever Seth was planning to do with me wasn't going to be pretty. So I refused to do anything he demanded. Instead, I called out to Kai in my head. Springwood community is on the borderline from our community, so I knew he could hear me even if I am miles away.

"GET UP!" Seth roared beneath his vocals like a grizzly.

My body may have trembled, but I still didn't dare make a move to heed him. If anything, I needed to spare as much time as I could for Kai to get here after he heard my call. Giving up, Seth gave a head gesture to one of his advisors. Without a given choice, his advisor pulled me to my feet.

"No!" I screamed, getting dragged to the edge of the tall building toward Seth. "Stop it!"

Seth pinched the nerve on the back of my neck and made me stare out into the city. Below us, everyone appeared small, including the vehicles driving on the city streets, but the sight was distinguishable to make out every detail because we weren't on the tallest building.

"You should've listened to my wife and killed yourself with the pocket knife she gave you!" Seth snickered aloud.

"You can't kill me!" I exclaimed, heaving my chest up and down rapidly. "You can't do anything until after the vote!"

"I'm not going to kill you," Seth chuckled evilly. "I'm only helping you to kill yourself."

"I won't!" I spat.

He laughed, amused, pulling out a note from his pocket. "Why not?" he taunts. "My wife wrote you a beautiful suicide note. She even hearted both the I's in your name."

Without a choice, he forces me to peek at the note. Only to devalue me, Athena did use hearts in my name.

"That isn't my handwriting! Nobody will buy it!" I spat, pushing the note away as he laughed because his manners were irreverent towards me.

"You silly girl!" Seth and his vampire pals cracked up. "Like countless others, your death will be another cover-up. Nobody will even care to investigate whether it's your handwriting or not."

While they were busy laughing, I made a valorous move by slipping away, but he snatched my hair tightly before he pushed me forward.

"I won't jump!"

"Haven't you ever played pirates in that orphanage?" Seth chuckled.

"NO!"

"Well, then, nothing like playing for the first time!" Seth laughed with everyone else. "Time to walk the plank!"

I dug my high heel boots into the flat rooftop of the building and yelled. "I won't jump, and you can't make me because you're under Vampire Oath!"

Finally, Seth backed away, and I faced him and his friends staring at me fiendishly. He knew I was right. No one could force me to jump, and they can't kill me.

"You best jump or else!" Seth perilously warned.

"I'm pregnant!" I plead in hopes to get through to him. "If I die, what will happen to my babies?"

Seth growled crudely. "Those little brats you bear will never be my concern! Kai's better off letting them be detained."

I was speechless when I heard him say such words. Of course, I knew him being an alpha and an enemy of the Collin Coven. My babies would be a threat to him because I carry three royal heirs to the Collin Coven.

"Enough of this stalling!" Seth roared. "Now turn around and jump!"

"No!" I stayed adamant on my word against a very dangerous alpha.

An unexpected grin curved his lips as he said. "Their innocent blood is spilled into your hands because you wouldn't listen."

One of Seth's advisors forced me to face the city. Behind us, Seth came over and lifted his hand out aside from us. A sudden shake quakes the tall buildings. Glass combusts on a taller building across from us, before it starts to crumble and break apart.

"Stop!" I screamed at the top of my lungs to watch people inside the building falling to their death as the building broke apart into pieces. Below the streets, where the building was standing, opened up into a large sinkhole that stretched into the streetway. Vehicles fell right into the hole, including the building. Other vehicles crashed while trying to avoid the hole. A handful of vehicles got pushed into the crater by another vehicle hitting them. Whatever was left of the falling debris from the building was crushed on top of the vehicles and people.

Seth coiled his fingers, making the sinkhole expand as everyone fled. People on the sidewalks and more vehicles on the streets got swallowed up. Now, the hospital beside the building Seth first destroyed was shaking as the sinkhole grew wider. The hospital's parking lot, including the parked vehicles and anyone on it, were the first to be devoured into the hole before it reached the hospital.

"Stop!" I yelled.

The hospital tilts as the outside of this one section breaks away and falls into the void. Right in clear sight, I watched the people inside it sliding on the slanted floors like a vessel sinking into the abyss. Frightful cries soared over the loud rumbling as they screamed, falling to their death.

"I hope this isn't the maternity suite!" Seth laughed like this was a funny movie. Yet it was like watching a disastrous film. Patients, doctors, nurses, hospital beds, equipment, papers, and chunks of the floors and walls all fell into the sinkhole.

Having enough of it, I yanked free from his advisor and forced Seth's hand downward. He broke focus from his gift before his fingers grasped around my windpipe. My feet raised off the rooftop as his fangs grew. He brought me to his mouth while his fingers dug into my throat.
