**Ch 317: Little Kai's Fear [R-18]

[Viewer Discretion Is Advised.]

I recognized Pearl, Sharlene's mom, and Irene, Rose's mother, each holding them. I didn't even realize Sharlene and Rose were two of the babies that got burned alive in order to detain them.

"I told you we would get them," said Rose's father, whose name was Frank, as he held her fourteen months older sister in his arms.

"No one messes with my babies," Irene replied. She kissed baby Rose, and then she kissed Emma, Rose's older sister, to comfort them each. Frank wrapped his family in his arms. He was overwhelmed with relief to get his youngest daughters back. Rome's mother kissed and held him tight to hush his cry. His father rubbed his back to furthermore calm him. Ace was held by his mom, and his dad held his older brother. Warm love was given to all the little ones as their vamp parents, hushed their scared whimpers away.

Mrs. Collin rocked little Kai in her arms. When he peeked over at the kneeling humans, he cried harder, having horror written all over his face. Right in his mother's breasts, he buried his face into her pink and orange draped dress, so he wouldn't have to look at them. Mr. Collin caught on to this fear in his eyes.

"Now, now, my son," he sweetly expressed as he took him from his mother's arms. "There is no need to fear humans."

Kai whimpered in his arms as Mr. Collin rocked him for a second. Once he settled Kai down, Mr. Collin took him to the King and his soldiers, who quivered in fright on their knees.

"Mercy," whispered the King.

"See how they fear us, son?" Mr. Collin asked, and Kai peeked below. For a toddler, he thoroughly studied their faces and the way their bodies shivered as if they were freezing to death from the cold. One man beside his King even peed himself. Once Mr. Collin was sure his son was getting braver, he placed him to stand on his sandals. While Mrs. Collin watched with a smile, everyone else also paid close attention. They watched as their Clan Alpha snatched the King's throat.

"It only seems fitting that royalty should eat the human King," he chuckles to the King.

"Please, no!" pleaded the King.

Not caring, Mr. Collin veered the king to his son. "Now go on and feed, my son." He gently directed him. At first, Kai glanced up at his mother, who stood behind him as he sucked on three fingers. A loving smile is bestowed on her pretty pink-painted lips towards him.

"Go on, he won't hurt you anymore," she lovingly encouraged, moving her chin upward at the King, who remains seized by her husband.

Kai veered his face toward the King as his father bent the man's neck to the side to reveal his fluttering pulse. It didn't take long for Kai's eyes to change red, and his skin tone discolored into an ashy pigment. In that next instant, he pounced at the man's bare chest with such might for a little guy. Those tiny fangs still tore right into his throat. You could hear Kai ripping into the man's flesh as he growled like a cute wolf pup. The King wailed in pain as Mr. Collin held him firmly while his son fed. His parents and his father's clan proudly watched the little prince feed to his complete contentment of being full.

"Well done, my son!" Mr. Collin praised as he tossed the king's dead body away. "You've made your first kill."

Having such innocence in his eyes, Kai blinked up at his father without fully understanding that he took the King's life though he understood enough to learn he got praised for it. Around his tiny mouth and down his naked chest was covered in the King's blood. His mother picked him up and then wiped his mouth with her scarf.

"Kill the rest of the warriors," Mr. Collin ordered, and the vampires were quick to kill them. Except for Rome, little Ace, Glenn, Ivan, Jack, and a few others, were also given their first lesson by their vamp dads to be efficient hunters one day. For safety reasons, the vampires taught their offspring how to hunt and kill over the vampiresses. Since they're at their most vulnerable time while they feed or hunt.

"What should we do with the horses?" Rome's dad asked Mr. Collin.

"Kill the wounded horses and will take the rest back to the Coven," replied Mr. Collin. Out of the large number of horses, only nine of them were put down, from them sustaining broken legs or some other fatal injury.

"Chester and Veronica will love these two mighty steeds," said Mrs. Collin as she pets the King's horses, which were still tied to the royal chariot. One horse was blacker than ink, while the other was white like silky roses.

"They shall have them as pets." Mr. Collin smiled as little Kai got nestled in his mother's arms to fall asleep.

Realizing he was getting sleepy, she kissed her husband's lips, and then declared. "I'll meet you at home."

Mr. Collin nodded with a smile before she vanished with Kai. Going with her, the other mothers did the same as a few of their husbands left with them to get their offspring home. Whoever remained with Mr. Collin helped him burn the bodies, and then they got on the chariots and rode off into the vast golden desert until I could no longer see them past the blistery hot sun rays.

At that point, the desert began to evanesce before my eyes, and darkness turned my vision black. Once my mind veered back to the present, I found myself, laying out on the floor from inside the corridor. Still alone, I wiped my bloody nose clean, and then I carefully stood up. Other than feeling slightly wheezy, I was fine. Though it's best not to tell Kai about this vision. It was quite horrifying to witness such a tense and emotional event, which happened in the early ages. For all this time, Kai held that memory of what happened to him and his friends. He may have been too little to fully comprehend it, but he witnessed the vamp babies get burned alive. So he knew enough to understand those humans were going to detain them. Somehow the babies and toddlers got kidnapped by the humans to be detained. I'm not sure how that transpired because my time gap didn't show it. Either way, it helped me better understand Kai's hatred for humans, and it also showed me how Mr. Collin taught him never to fear them. After the dizziness went away, I headed to the bedroom, and tried to relax by getting a refreshing bath.
