**Ch 375: Glenn's Sacrifice

Outside in the front yard, the ferocious battle was continuous while Chester and his friends were battling the vampires that were inside the mansion. Those vampires facing Chester and his friends, did whatever they could to protect the vampiresses, their offspring, and the human children or babies who were either adopted into their Coven, or they were the destined mates to one of the guardians in Rex's clan.

Outside, Theodore leaped from the rooftop before he swiftly plummeted into the yard, landing firmly on his boots while his gothic trench coat flared like a cape. Ice shot from his fingers as he turned any vampires from Kai's Coven into solid ice statues. With ease, he was taking out some of the best warriors from Kai's Coven, which they couldn't afford to lose.

"Glenn, take him out!" Kai shouted as he was slicing his claws into the guardians who tried ganging up on him. He was swarmed by them. Hence, he couldn't stop Rex's advisor himself.

Before Theodore could crystallize a young guardian into ice, Glenn darted in and kicked his foot up at Theodore's arm. As the ice shot out through his palm, a guardian from Rex's clan got detained in ice instead of it hitting the guardian on Kai's side.

"You'll pay for that!" Theodore hissed, and then he shot ice at Glenn, but he was fast to obstruct the ice with a shield made from fire with his palms.

Like an ice dragon was going up against a fire-breathing dragon, they both shot a thick ongoing streak of fire and ice.

Fiery sparks and smoke smothered between the fire and ice striking against each other in the shape of a bolt of lightning. Shades of red and blue danced together as the streak waved whenever Glenn and Theodore added more energy. Pressure between both elements shot higher sparks where the sizzling fire and the frigid ice temperatures were searing together. Glenn was sweating as his fearsome opponent was doing the same because they felt the intensity of their power coursing through their blood.

"You can't keep this up forever!" Glenn gritted his teeth as the pang throbbed into his body, which caused the veins in his arms to bulge.

"Watch me!" Theodore daringly gritted a grin.

One wrong move, and Glenn knew he'd be an ice statue like the others. He tried to rake a solution in his head on how to conquer Theodore. If Glenn were to release Theodore from his gift, he'd be congealed into ice. And Glenn couldn't afford to allow Rex's advisor to go unrestrained because his powerful gift would take out more members from his Coven. There was only one thing he could do. In his final conclusion, there was no way out of this unless he made the ultimate sacrifice.

As if Rome could read his mind from down the driveway, he pleaded. "Glenn, wait! I'm coming!"

"Make sure someone takes care of Alice for me until I can be reawakened!" Glenn gritted those words through his teeth.

"Glenn, no!" Ace clamored from further down the yard while he was being gained up on by Rex's guardians.

Just as Rome was flying his way to the yard, Glenn provoked Theodore by increasing the strength of his gift. Taking the bait, Theodore did the same. Almost immediately, the pressure build-up broke somewhere in the middle of the red and blue lightning surge. In opposite directions, streaks of ice and fire soared like electrical currents. As ice pierced Glenn's chest, Theodore was nailed with fire just as he had planned it.

"GLENN!" Rome shouted when he saw his friend was a solid piece of ice before he got there to help him.

Laying on the ground, straight across from Glenn's frozen body, Theodore was burnt into crispy bacon.

Fueled with determination from losing Glenn, Kai upped his speed after he saw his best friend sacrifice his immortal life for them. In full fury, Rome, Ivan, Jack, and Ace whipped around and fought loads of guardians from left to right in their wrath.

Using his earth gift, Ivan's fingers formed clay saucers before he soared them like a disk. As the disks hit anyone of Rex's guardians, he quickly contorted his fingers and molded them into clay figures. Like a ninja somersaulting around, Ivan would be quick to take one guardian down, and then he'd move on to the next one to mold him into a clay statue as well.

Made from lightning, Ace constructed a sword, and he used it to fry his opponents into a crisp as he cut them down and stabbed them. Working together, Rome and Jack darted wherever as they mauled Rex's guardians with their claws and fangs.

Rather fast, Kai detained one guardian after another with his second gift. Blood spewed out of each guardian who was either brave or idiotic to stand in his way from reaching Rex. After he detained another one from consuming his blood, Kai glanced up, but he didn't see Rex on top of the roof. So he dashed upward and broke through a large glass window. Potent aromas of Victoria's blood had him halt as he studied the rather large bedroom. On the bed sheets, he smelled and saw her blood had covered the mattress. He clenched his fist when he didn't see her anywhere.

"You've lost Kai," Rex smirked as he watched him from his chair, which was by the fireplace as he calmly sipped on a whiskey glass of blood.

"Where's my wife!" Kai roared. "What have you done to her!"

"Mhmm, she tastes just as beautiful as she smells." Rex taunted him as he was basking in the flavor of her blood that he was swirling inside his whiskey glass.

It wasn't until then that Kai realized he was outright drinking Victoria's blood in front of him. Kai took a seethed breath to subdue the chimeric nature that was brewing through him. If he made any wrong moves, Kai acknowledged that he would lose.

"Give me my wife," Kai growled, but he remained mellow as the mirth on Rex's mouth only extended.

"She's no longer yours," he ridiculed. Instead of losing it, Kai concentrated. Inside the mansion, he heard the crying children and babies while his brother and his brother's friends were in the middle of battling the vampires in the mansion.

"Wise alphas know when to make war. After this is over, all those little human babies and children are dead because you didn't wait to turn them before challenging me. I hope you're ready to face the heat after your friends lose their human mates and the vampiresses lose their adopted child," Kai told him to get under his skin.

"You think you can win? My clan is twice as big as yours." Rex chuckled, twisting Kai's words because this threat didn't yield any intimidation to him.
