Stepping In

"Bakugou, redo your test." Aizawa just wanted to keep things moving. So he decided to ignore Kali altogether.

Bakugou frowned but took the next softball and prepared to throw it. His gaze landed on Kali, who was busy talking with Uraraka and Asui, but when she felt someone looking at her, she looked over at Bakugou and smiled at him. Her smile caused Bakugou's cheeks to blush as he quickly turned away. He gritted his teeth and threw the softball with all his might.

"Bakugou, I said use your quirk!" Aizawa yelled out while rubbing the bridge of his nose. While another burst of laughter came from the kids behind him.

At this point, Bakugou wanted to kill someone. He had no idea why he just lost his mind after looking at the damn girl's smile. This time he calmed himself and took another softball. This time while using his explosion quirk, he sent the ball flying into the sky. "Die!"

"Seven hundred and seventy yards." Aizawa showed Bakugou the meter in his hand.

"Awesome! That looks fun!" Someone yelled out, causing everyone to begin chattering.

"It looks fun… You say?" Aizawa's voice caused everyone to go silent. "So you are planning to spend three years here having a good ol'time? What happened to becoming heroes?"

Aizawa sighed as his gaze fell onto all the students in front of him. "Alright then…. In that case. New rule: The student who ranks last in points will be judged hopeless and instantly expelled!" Letting out a laugh, Aizawa continued: "Our freedom means we can dispense with students as we see fit. Welcome to the department of heroics!"

While everyone else was busy taking in Aizawa's words, Kali was busy charging her squishy. But this did not mean she was not paying attention to what was going on. She was doing this to help ease Asui's fears. But she also had her eye on a certain young man who was currently sweating bullets. Her eyes narrowed at the boy as she thought to herself: 'Don't disappoint me, Tuna.'

But as the tests began, Kali's hope for Tuna to shine and not embarrass All Might began to fade. That was until it was time for him to throw the softball. She could see that Tuna was truly in a panic.

Midoriya was truly in a panic. He was still unable to use his quirk without hurting himself. He had yet to figure it out. With the ball in his hand, he looked out over the field and clenched his teeth. 'All Might. Mom, I will become a Hero. Kali, I will show you I can do this!'

Midoriya activated his quirk and went to throw the softball with everything he had. But….

"Fifty yards!" Aizawa announced.

"Huh? I could have sworn I used my quirk…." Midoriya was confused. He could feel One For All activating, but it disappeared in an instant.

"I erased your quirk." Aizawa spoke up. "It defies reason. How did someone like you manage to enter the academy? From what I observed, you can't rein in your quirk's full power, meaning you can't use it efficiently. Did you believe someone would come to save you after you crippled yourself again?"

Midoriya's eyes began to fill with tears. "N-no, I didn't, I jus…."

Aizawa used his white scarf and grabbed hold of Midorya, pulling him over to stand in front of him. "As you can see, nobody is in the position to come to your aid. There is a certain insufferable hero who made a name for himself, rescuing over a thousand innocents from a disaster all by himself. You have his brute courage, but all you will manage to do is run around like a blockhead who needs saving himself. Face it, your power won't help you become a hero, Midoriya Izuku!"

"Enough!" Kali could no longer take it. This was the person her shitty old man chose to be the one to inherit his quirk. She did not like it when people told him he was unable to do things because of it. "I do not know how you could become a teacher of this school if you are going to degrade your students."

Kali appeared in between the two. Her eyes narrowed in anger at Aizawa. "You may be a teacher, but this is going too far. You talk about freedom, that is all fine and good, but your first job as a teacher is to actually guide the students in front of you, not tear them down until they break. No one is allowed to pick on Tuna except for me. If you want to degrade someone, look in the mirror first. Don't think that your quirk is able to work on everyone here in this class. You can try it if you want, but I can still send your ass flying across this field if you wish to continue."

Kali was really restraining herself. Otherwise, she would have already beaten up this prick in front of her. She turned and looked at the Tuna who was staring at her in disbelief trying to understand what was going on and sighed. "If you can't use you quirk because you can't control it yet then fucking make it so you are not crippled!"

Midoriya seemed to be hit with a bolt of enlightenment. He looked at Kali without saying a word but gave her a grateful smile before nodding his head and looking at Aizawa. "Aizawa sensei! I can do it, let me try again!"

Aizawa saw the change in Midoriya's eyes and then looked at Kali who he could not read for the life of him and nodded his head. "Let's see what you got."
