Chapter 8

Angel POV

We ran for about half an hour. That's when we heard the sound of paws. I looked over at Sam and Della worried

"don't stop.. run faster" Sam called out loud.

We ran as fast as we could but then we saw some of the wolves coming our way " don't look back Angel, just run faster.. we got this.." Sam said and stripped and shifted then started fighting with some of them that came our way...

I tried to run but then stopped and turned around when I heard a whimper, I saw Chris coming with a shirt throwing it furiously at Sam " shift... or I'll make you do it" he ordered her through gritted teeth.

she shifted after a lot of struggle and that was when she looked my way

" angel... run...leave us here and run" she shouted.

That was when I realised I was rooted to the spot " run idiot" she again shouted with a disappointed look.

I quickly turned around and ran with blurry vision and went straight to hit a tree or wall I don't know but jerked back and fell on my butt. I got up on my feet only to see two grey orbs staring right at me, then did I realise that it was not some f*cking wall or tree, I ran into their alpha. He looked angry this is not good I thought.

He took each step closer, I couldn't help myself but take a step backwards jumbling .. he was fast enough as he grabbed my hand and pulled me

" you thought you could escape me? " he chuckled darkly. "Remember it is never and impossible."

His grip on my hand tightened, I could feel my skin burning and it felt like my blood has drained and I whimpered due to the pain.

The next day I woke up in my prison only to find it empty. I panicked and got up

"Sam....." I shouted.

" Sam...Sam..." I cried out louder.

What happened to her? What did they do to her.."why moon goddess why me?.. "

After like forever a guard came with food and kept it beside me

" where is she.."I screamed.

" she is with alpha," he said casually and left.

After some time I heard my door being opened and came that guard from last night " come.. our alpha wants to show you something" he said with sarcasm.

His tone told me something wasn't right. I got up and we walked out of the building to the backside of the pack house into a big ground.

I saw people gathered, my heart started beating faster as I saw the alpha on the stage and my eyes shifted to someone slouching down beside him. He was talking but all my thoughts were about the person.. my parents, Emma everyone did sacrifice to protect me all I did was run away but today I won't.

I ran towards her I saw him raising his hand ready to whip her, I went directly and hugged her as if my life depended on her.

The very next moment, what I felt was burning pain spreading through my entire body. I screamed...

the last thing I saw was Sam's worried face and her shouting.. before blackness took over me.

~Adonis POV~

" answer me god dammit" I growled at her. At this moment I cared less if she was Chris's mate, all I wanted was my answer. For the past one hour, we were asking her and all I got was a silence which was making me and Chris furious. The third one collapsed after the fight and was taken to our clinic yesterday night.

Yesterday after they were taken into a cell, I and Chris with some of our elders discussed the situation. Chris told me how they were trying to cover up Angel every time. So our every attempt was to seize as much as information from Chris's mate.

" you will answer me or I know how to get my answers." I growled at her " as much as I don't want to do that, you give me no choice. "

"Adonis .." Chris mind linked me.

"No Chris ... don't dare stop me.. after one she will answer. I know you care for her but our pack is at risk after the threat... I need answers from them, only then we can be prepared" I glared at him.

"Please I'll talk to her. She might answer me."

" you have been doing that Chris. They won't open their mouth. Everyone is going to suffer the punishment if they don't open their mouth."

"Still .. let me try one last time again."

"Okay.."

"Sam.. listen! You can tell us some--" Chris was cut off by his mate.

"Do whatever you want, I won't give you any answers." She spat.

"It's your choice then" I answered

Chris looked away hurt.

" bring her to the ground," I commanded and walked out of the room. Once outside I looked at Peter

"Go bring her from the prison she needs to witness this."

After reaching our ground I saw it was already filled with my people, everyone came to hear her story. I got on the stage and walked towards Sam she was slouching on the ground I took the birch stick and that's when I saw her being bought into the crowds by Peter.

I shouted to the crowd before me " anyone who disobeys me will receive their punishment and no Rogues will touch my territory and my people... I the alpha of warriors promise the people who came to witness that today they will get their answers." With that, I raised my birch stick in the air and flashed it down on Sam, but before I could realise what happened, I saw I didn't hit Sam the stick went directly into her skin.. my heart skipped a beat..angel.. she screamed due to pain and fell limblessly to the side, I didn't even beat that hard what a werewolf couldn't take.

I saw Sam pulling her onto her lap

" What did you do... she fucking didn't shift yet.. you bastard" she shouted.

That's when everything came into my sense.. she never felt me, That's why I never felt her wolf. I saw Chris running over to us, I scooped her up in my arm and ran towards our clinic.
